i think my favorite one was Heidi & Trine but the one in the silver dress is the one i liked and Katerina Zoumi seemed like she was just going through the motions there was no feeling in it and thats a deep song as far as Jimi Bellmartin he is just amazing you can get lost in his feelings when he sings .... much love from hamilton ontario canada

I sure liked Heidi & Trine, but would've loved to see even more attitude from them.
I can see why Jimi Bellmartin won the first senior title.
Think those two songs were my favorites this time around.

Hi Elora. I'm interested to know what you thought of Katerina Zoumi here, as you are more technically knowledgeable with music than I am. I really liked it but none of the coaches turned for her.

Hi Marvin. I liked her voice, but I think I understand why they didn't turn for her: her song was sung in pretty much the same notes all the time. She didn't really show what she could do, even though she did that song well enough. I think that's why they didn't give her a chance. Technically, it was pretty dull, I would think, with practically no variations in how she chose to sing.

@@Elora445 Thanks for that Elora, I see what you are saying. From my side I can obviously tell if it's good or not, but beyond that it's mainly about the entertainment factor. I have watched her again with your perspective and it's kinda like a different video (if that makes sense.)
I genuinely do enjoy reading your (and Cholla Ranch's) comments with the constructive praise or criticism.

I think I, personally, would have turned for her, because I would like to see how she would develop. She also seems to have a pretty solid ground. But still, as a contestant, I would have recommended her to choose a song that was bit more "difficult"/challenging to sing. It seems that judges turn a bit more often, then. Not always, though, since taste in music is oh so subjective. :) It's also different from country to country what kind of voices they most often turn for.
None of us can really say if someone is objectively good nor bad, only if they are technically good, bad or average - which isn't always the same thing as being good or bad. Janis Joplin wasn't technically good, but how many would say that she was bad, eh? It fit with her music. I have also heard people who sing perfectly well technically, but their voice is completely emotionless. How dull is that, right?
Ahem. Sorry for rambling a bit. I'm not really qualified to talk about how good someone is technically, either, since all I know about stuff like that, is knowledge I have amassed through osmosis. :P (And watching videos of voice teachers analyzing people's singing voices.)
Also, it's great reading your comments, seeing how much you enjoy listening to these people.
