Foundation is a new medieval city builder game. It is still in early access and will be developed in the coming months. It is a really fun game which can grant you hours and hours of fun. It is available on steam.

I have had this game for a few years now, but have not played it for a long time and, I can't believe how much has changed, and how good this game is now. I'm following along with you as closely as I can to try and refresh my memory, and learn all of the new stuff. Thank you very much for sharing this with us, and teaching us how to play this complex, but amazing game. Look forward to progressing through this series.

One of the things I like is the ability to name each building. Now, I wish it showed that name in the F2 Buildings list instead of just Granary, Warehouse, etc. And I wish Ostriv would let me do that there.
There are so many nice things in this game compared to Ostriv, for me Ostriv is the greatest city builder, but this is just a little different and way more customizable!

And most changes to me are for the best! But that is personal!
@@PatmosIV I ran it on Steam and found all the mods had been removed. Even more changes!! Will wait for more of your eps and a review of the mods I used before I play it again. I like old comfortable slippers -- not all changes are good.
Ah ok. I never ran it with mods. Looking for a few good ones, but hope they will incorporate those with steam. Right now steam does not support mods for this game.
I like the game and the development they do with it. But that is personal!

Hi! thanks for the upload. Im having issues finding adequate houses for the jobs. Is there a way to plan your residential areas around the industry? would love any advice. thanks! love the video.
Well, building to close is not something the villagers like. But if you zone around the industry with a little space in between, people will build their. It can help if you provide markets and a church in that area too. But it is really hard to steer where houses are build. There is a maximum distance people are willing to live away from work, so if there is no housing area close enough to their work, they will not build a house and be unhappy.
Hallo. Ik ben zelf een verslaafde speler van het spel vanaf het begin 2019. Momenteel heb ik er 7982 uur mee gespeelt en ik heb de indruk dat ik nog niet eens halverwege ben want ik heb nog zoveel fantasie in me die ik wil verwezenlijken. Maar ik werk nu wel met mods. Deze brengen zoveel meer verfraaiing in je spel. Ik ben je per toeval tegengekomen en ben zeker van plan al je Foundation episodes te bekijken. Ik kan er ook immers heel lang naar kijken voor wie het interessant aan de man brengt. Zelf ben ik Belg en gepensioneerd. Dus ik heb alle tijd van de wereld. Momenteel is een bevriende Nederlandse man me aan het opleiden om Live te gaan op CZcams. Maar dit duurt nog wel even. Het gaat je goed en ik neem er alleszins al een goed tasje koffie bij om te genieten. 👍
Hallo @AraRoodbuik, Bedankt voor je bericht! Bijna 8000 uur in Foundation! Wow! Ik heb 260 uur en dat vind ik al best wat! Wel heel erg leuk dat je er zo van geniet en nog zoveel fantasie hebt om mooie stadjes te bouwen. Speel je ook andere stedenbouwers zoals Ostriv bijvoorbeeld? Ik heb al eens gekeken naar Mods maar er nog niet aan toe gekomen ze te gebruiken. Dat staat wel op de planning, lijkt me heel leuk om extra dingen toe te voegen aan het spel op die manier. Ik ben blij dat je m'n kanaaltje gevonden hebt. Hopelijk geniet je van mijn Foundation video's! Ik ben vast lang niet zo goed en creatief als jij. Geniet van je pensioen! Leuk dat iemand je uitlegt om ook live te gaan. Als het zover is en je gaat foundation streamen laat het dan gerust weten! Ik kom graag eens kijken en kan ook mijn kleine community informeren als je Live bent. Er zijn er heel wat meer die graag Foundation willen zien! Fijne dag en bedankt voor je mooie bericht!
@@PatmosIV Ja. Er zijn wel een aantal games wat betreft "stedenbouw" welke ik graag zou aanschaffen. Mijn grootste probleem is dat ik de Engelse taal niet machtig ben. En 99% van wat uitkomt heeft geen Nederlandse vertaling in het spel. Ik heb bijvoorbeeld ook het spel "Banished" en "Patrol" in mijn bezit, maar het lukt me niet het te spelen. Ik dacht dat alles zich wel zou uitmaken met het gewoon te spelen, maar dit is dus niet zo. Heel jammer. Ik hou ook niet van geweld, dus dat maakt de keus nog beperkter voor me. In Foundation is er ook een leger, maar daar zie je niets van en is ook geen noodzaak om te gebruiken. Ik heb deze alleen ingezet om al de prestaties te kunnen ontgrendelen. Dat zijn er 29. Mijn gameassortiment is dus niet zo breed. Ik heb "Planet Zoo", "Farm Manager", "Construction Simulator", "Farming Simulator" en "Transport Fever". Dat is het zo wat. Ook "Golf whit your Friends", maar daar moet men geen Engels voor kennen. Bedankt voor je mooie opbouwend antwoord. Ik zal je zeker iets laten weten als het zover is als ik Live ga. Maar ik en software en al wat erbij hoort, dat gaat niet goed samen. Ook al omdat daar ook geen Nederlandse software voor bestaat zoals "Streamlabs Desktop" waar de meeste mee werken en streamen.
Dat is inderdaad lastig omdat de meeste spellen Nederlands niet ondersteunen. Ik heb nog op mijn wensenlijst staan om ooit een uitleg video voor Ostriv in het Nederlands te maken voor de Nederlands talige kijkers. Maar daar is het nog niet van gekomen. Er zijn altijd wel mensen die kunnen helpen met wat dingen uitleggen hoor. Bijvoorbeeld Ostriv is niet al te ingewikkeld als je er een klein beetje van weet. Kunnen je altijd even op weg helpen als dat nodig is!
Wel een leuk lijstje spellen heb je! Planet Zoo en Transport Fever heb ik ook. Planet Zoo stream ik nog af en toe. Dat is wel allemaal in het Engels. Succes met het opzetten van het streamen! Hopelijk lukt het! Ben benieuwd naar je gameplay voor Foundation!
Jammer dat het spel niet ook voor de Mac is. Het lijkt mij leuk om het te spelen.
Ja dat is jammer! Ik heb gelezen dat er wel mogelijkheden zijn, maar dat is niet perse officieel supported. Het zit voor nu nog niet in de pijplijn om een officiële versie voor mac uit te brengen. Wie weet komt dat ooit! Hoop het voor je!

Interesting, but some of your advice is already not good/optimal and I have watched less than 10min of the vid.
A good thing then, that I never claimed to make a good/optimal explanation of the game.
An implicit goal of a tutorial playthrough.
Well, Good/optimal is a matter of perspective and open for very much debate. And explaining the basics and how a game works is very different then trying to optimize everything. So no.. not even close to being the same or a goal. But all my channel followers know I never claim to do something the good or the best way. Luckily most really appreciate my video's!
