And what if you end up having to restart your phone MULTIPLE times a day, to get it to work right? There is something they installed in the updates about a year ago, that is messing with my call functions. I think it was Bixby, but I can't uninstall it from my phone. EVERY DAY Its the same thing. Someone calls and either I can't hear them, or they can't hear me and I have to restart the phone. Then, after a few hours, the same thing happens again. Something is resetting the permissions and taking over the speaker / mic - and I've tried turning ALL permissions off that would deal with the speaker or mic, from all installed apps - but it doesn't help, so the only thing it can be is a system installed app. This is beyond frustrating, and Samsung Support doesn't help either - they basically said the same thing you did. It happens with the speaker and phone, so if I take a call and turn the speaker on I don't hear anything, and when I turn it off, I still don't hear anything. I call someone and they can't hear me - or they call and CAN hear me, but I can't hear them. Same thing multiple times a day, and each time I have to restart the phone. If restarting the phone works, and stays working for hours, then all the sudden - without me doing anything, it all the sudden happens again, it is a system issue.
Same is happening with me. Did you find a way to resolve it?
My volume works everywhere, when someone calls me I can barely hear them talking and the volume is maxed

Here is the problem that I am having I don't know if you can help.I have a T-Mobile Revvl 5 android. What is randomly, is that I will go to make a call and I can visually see the connecting, but there is no ringing or any sound. I have to restart the phone to get the sound back. The other that happens,is that I don't hear anything when someone calls and I am told it goes right to voicemail. This is a random issue.

@@kesrose2023 unfortunately it is the phone itself. I was on with T-Mobile tech support.They could not help me.Said it was the phone.Was forced to get a new phone.

Didn't help. Trying to fix my dad's phone. When people call, he can't hear them unless he puts it on speaker phone. They can hear him, but he can't hear them.

Care to explain how it is that you can hear OUTGOING calls fine but cannot hear INCOMING calls only? I'm about ready to cuss out Samsung and T-moblie and sue for ten times my money put in at the rate they're going. These companies need to be defunded turning out their crap phones.

I have a Schok sv 55 android phone. This is the third one I've had. All 3 have had issues with the sound during phone calls. The only solution is to use headphones to hear people during phone calls. I told assurance wireless phone company that I think this particular model has a design flaw affecting the sound during phone calls.
None of these helped me. Can't hear anything.
sometimes my calls work but most of the time they dont, and its not just the speaker because it doesnt work with my bluetooth either. the other person can hear me, but i cant hear them at all

YEP - that is my exact problem too, and the other way around. Someone calls and either they can't hear me, or I can't hear them - and I'm not saying the volume is low, there IS NO sound at all - same for them not hearing me. Samsung did some update about a year ago and I've had this issue ever since. The only way to get it to work is having to restart the phone, multiple times a day. If the problem were what the poster is referring to, it wouldn't need to be restarted multiple times a day. Something Samsung installed with their updates screwed our phones up and is hacking the speaker / mic permissions and turning them off. I think it's Bixby, but of course, they made it so that you can't uninstall Bixby. That is the most useless, irritating system app I've ever seen. Being not user friendly is the understatement of the century!!!! AND THE WORST PART IS, THEY KNOW IT!!!
For some reason none of these solutions worked on my LG G7 ThinQ, this happened after i changed my case, i moved all of the hardware from one case to the other, turned it on
And everything seemed to be working but when i did a test call the phone rang just fine and when I answered it i noticed i can hear myself when I speak from my LG phone but i cant hear myself or whoever is talking to me unless i turn on the phone's speaker

What would cause you to hear with speaker on & they can’t hear you when the speaker is off?
A Samsung Galaxy 14 is the android im referring to with issues im speaking about above. Again, can call someone & they can hear me, I can hear them while the speaker is on. Turn speaker off and you can not hear me or I can’t hear them?

But you're not hitting any speaker icon? Where is the icon you refer to?
Right? He hits a number, or the star, then the call icon - so that it tries to make a call, but the "call" screen blinks on/off so fast you don't see the speaker icon he keeps referring to. When you make a call and it begins actually dialing a "real" phone number, there is a speaker icon that pops up at the bottom left of the screen. If you click on it you should hear the caller over the speaker. If you click it again (off) then you have to put the phone to your ear to hear the caller. Hope this clears up for you what he is trying to refer to.
On Android go to setting > Accessibility > hearing enhancements > adapt sound > then choose accordingly to your age or more if you prefer. Hope this helps

My android phone cracks up/ cuts out if the person im talking to is on a speaker phone or head set. Otherwise I can hear great. Its impossible I hear them it cuts out so bad.

Yay! I went to a REPAIR PLACE. Replaced microphone and after 70.00 (not having to replace the phone)... I can now make a call and people hear me. My phone is a prepaid Verizon Samsung A12. Ring a bell?
My problem is I can't hear them. :-(
