I was so glad to see you use that carburetor for a repair video. I need to recall who I got that from originally. It was actually a fellow model T owner in Ireland despite the fact that the carburetor was originally made in Leamington Spa, England.
Great video. I've overhauled a few Holley NH carbs. and i do have one knock off NH but not the same brand as yours but looks the same as the Holley. Haven't bothered to restore it yet . I will eventually as it would be interesting to see if it works as well as the Holley. I see you mentioned the difference in gasket diameters. I've run into this too. Seems some of the lighter tan colored gaskets shrink a bit. Watched a video years ago on that gasket shrinkage problem and the apparently that happens in a lot of new old stock gaskets. Especially the thinner ones. His cure was to soak them in water to expand them. Oh yes you also mentioned the peek if your hat bumping the camera. I wonder if thats why Randahl on Shed By The Tracks wears a stocking type cap. Enjoyed the video and looking forward to more.
Having never had my carburetor off, you surprised me with your reference to Staples. I was expecting butterfly screws. Excellent reproduction parts manufacturing. You have a very talented brother.😂
New subscriber here....I love being able to make my own parts either by lathe or casting or any other way. Really great things that people have lost the ability to do anymore.
Gasoline probably would . A little oil in the gas might help to keep it from drying out again. Once they are in the carb they seem to keep their size even if they are taken off for a carb cleaning or internal check. Nice job on the special screw drivers for the Jets and inlet needle seat and the choke and throttle butterfly plates. Your right the plates are a proper devil to line up. The odd one goes easy .

It's really neat. Can't wait to see how it runs. Thank you

Interesting about the white gasket shrinkage. Wonder if soaking in gasoline would re-expand it... Might try that.
I will test this Zephyr carb in the springtime back to back with the stock NH and the straight-thru NH. Watch for a video!
Sorry I missed the premier! Looks like you had it handled without my expert input. 😆 Informative as usual. Cheers from the shed
🍻
Very nice video. I always like how to videos. Well done ...
Thanks! I appreciate your support.

Thanks. Yeah, the staples are crude but effective. Couldn't do half of what I do without my Brother's help, that's for sure.
I picked up a Zephyr here in New Zealand. Thanks for the fine video!
Good to know another Zephyr owner!

Hi Jim. Hope you liked the video.

Thank you. And thanks for watching.
Houston checking in too, if I follow the meaning.
Roger Houston. Read you five-by-five. 🎧
Nice work buddy ,
What was the size of the staple wire ?
Think I’ll be yanking one out this Friday .
0.040 safety wire works well
