- The Z-35 is a Premium Tier 8 German Destroyer. It has 5x 128mm guns. This video shows 1 game, played on Land of Fire, where I showcase myself with my thought process on what happens in the match, and give insight on what I think of the ship.

A Bayard would be insane, I just picked it up and I’m in dire need of help since I feel like it has a high skill ceiling!

The Bayard is a good ship, and you do get some decent utility with it by retaining Hydro (instead of giving it up for some gimmick like Premiums usually end up doing) along with your Reload and Engine Boosters, but much like the Colbert, you have to be VERY careful who you engage and from where. Meaning you and the Minimap need to be as intimate as Homer Simpson and donuts.
Due to the design of the hull, not only do you have a massive free-board, but your Citadel's high up too, meaning you get blapped from either the side, plunging fire or, if there are big enough guns, just straight from the front.
Islands and friendly smoke-screens are your friends, or you can stay with your Team and hope that a BB or someone else will distract the enemy long enough for you to get shots in. Just be careful with aiming, you'll be tempted to get your back turrets off, but you have to show a lot of side to do that (reminds me of the GK or Vanguard) and you might end up suffering for it. Regardless, with the Reload Booster active, you'll either set whatever you're shooting at on fire enough to annoy them or outright kill them.
For DDs in particular, the Bayard is a bane to their existence, it's fast enough to reach caps more-or-less at the same time as DDs, and wherever you have caps with islands in them that you can make use of, you can deny the Cap and force the enemy Team to do something about you. The DD cannot engage you directly as you can literally delete them if your MRB is available and with Hydro they'll have a hard time torping you too, unless they YOLO into suicide range where they can actually end up torpedoed instead (don't try to YOLO at BBs yourself either, you only have 3 torps per side and the damage isn't anywhere close to what the IJN get. The only good part about them is that the aiming angles are stupidly-sharp, you can almost torp straight in front or behind you).
Anyhoo, bottom line is, if you're careful, it can be a very fun ship to play and very rewarding. But if you don't pay attention, most of your matches will end with very fast trips back to Port and you'll just think it's a frustrating ship to play.
When I was playing the hell out of the z35, I would use dazzle, ce and rpf along with the usual SE AR LS and PM.constantly jumping in and out of smoke to keep dazzle running.

Yeah, I just picked up the Z46 and find it a marked improvement over the T8 tech tree. I'd like to see you're game play. Though I enjoy playing CAs more, after watching tubers like yourself (& Flamu, Potatoe, Carbine, etc.), my win rate with DDs if vastly better than all other ships. Thanks for the vids.

z-46 is my go-to DD when the ranked season allow for it
Same. I like playing ships that counter the typical "meta ships" of each season.
Z-46 is incredibly strong and fun, I’ve played it quite a lot as well.
Thanks for fulfilling this request for me, Malta. I've always had a strange fondness for Z-35, despite her seemingly not getting much love from the community.
As for the ship itself, I wish it either had a bit more punch to the 6km torps, or else extend their range slightly to 8km for better balance. Z-46 is easily the better all-around DD at T9 (especially for comp), but my fondness for weird ships keeps me coming back to Z-35 too.

Z-35 is super fun and I use it with radio location because I am hunting DDs.
I have a few 21 point captains and another has the gun bote build, I use that as well. I just really like having a direction to go or an area to watch. Especially with the lack of speed boost. So it's not like we can run people down or make hard pushes with the boost on.
Z-46 is fantastic! For me the Germans go T-61, Z-46, Z-35 in ranking.

When playing German destroyer such as Z23, I use AP shell to quickly kill other destroyer at medium-close range. HE shells are for cruisers and battleships.

Z-35 should not be removed. Still accessible in Armory (I have checked Europe and Russia). Z-39 (premium and powerful copy of Z-31) was removed, sure. But Z-35 is still there.

Honestly out of the three premium German DD's you can get, this, the Schönberg, and the Z-44, this one, while not without it's flaws, is the best of the bunch.
Of course if you could instead get your hands on the T-62 or ZF-6 they both beat all three of the above..
Pretty good vid, but most of us don't have an elite captain and aren't experts. It'd be nice to know WHY you picked certain loadouts and skills for those who are newer to the game.

Indeed, as I mentioned Z-46 is really strong compared to Z-35, keep in mind it is a tier 9 also.
