Most influential game of my childhood and simply stunning. The music score is fantastic, The themes it seems to conjure and the complexity of it and its aesthetics are timeless. If they remade it I hope the unit sizes would increase and that the easy to learn but hard to master aspect of it would remain the same.
On the music note, one of the great things about it is that the music files are kept in the installation folder as simple *.wav so you can easily copy them to your phone to listen to.
Extended Edition actually is a remaster; granted, the graphical differences are pretty minor, but it does natively support widescreen resolutions, as well as has modern lighting. Though honestly, the only thing that really looks that different is the water, water looks much better in the new version.
I would ask somethin that's been buggin me. It's about the "tCords/wCords", and those are about MAP SIZE. Is it possible to make a biGGer map than 140 (in game .rules file) without bugging and cursor unresponding or sometimes crashing the game? Thanks comrades 👊
I'm glad you enjoyed the review. I doubt I'll be doing an Assassin's Creed reviews in the foreseeable future, it's not a series I've ever really touched on. I did grab a number of them as freebies on UPlay, but even so I've never actually downloaded or played any of them.
@@dougrasmussen151 It's OK but the original is the series peak. Black Flag was a fun casual pirate game. I like AC2 a fair bit but in the main the series hasn't lived up to it's potential.

@@AdamTheFanatic thank you for the advice.
The composer who made the themes actually made a RON overture.
My childhood…. I spent over 50,000 hours in this game as it was the only game I had for 5 years
It's a pretty good one, that's for certain.
I’m guessing you’re good at it 😊
Great vid!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for your effort and time, I appreciate it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This game was the best when it came. It’s still damn good though.
Needs a remaster!

Came here from your post on steam. It is really worth it!!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! Hopefully I'll be doing more RTSs in the future.
Very cool game, still playing it!!
My friends and I play this one fairly regularly. None of us are particularly great RTS players, but it's still a blast.
@@AdamTheFanatic yeah I play it with a friend of mine regularly as well!! Underrated game
Nice work, dude :)
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Nice work man ! All the community of ron is on the channel rise of patience it have tournament games and casual pro games also ! :)
I'd probably get eaten alive in a tournament- I play with my friends fairly often, but we're pretty casual about it.
@@AdamTheFanatic it's cool man ! We like to help New players if you up to it !
Here is my steam name AL_Jonathan
Thanks for the review! Planning on buying this game now that the steam winter sale is on :)
Hope you have fun with it, it's a pretty unique mashup of concepts!
That game needs a 3d remake
Units actually are rendered as fully three-dimensional polygons, as is the landscape. It uses a pretty interesting mixture of 2D and 3D assets.
What a game.
Definitely one that's held up over the years.
Rise of Nations = Civilization in RTS, no turn based, it in real time.
Yep, it feels very much like a combination of Civilization and Age of Empires. So does Empire Earth, but I feel Rise of Nations does it much better.
This game make my life is better, and yap, my keyboard being crash, cause i play it non stop, this game is really awesome 😁
Certainly a classic.

You should review AC Valhalla!

@@AdamTheFanatic I think this one would suprise you it's pretty great! Kind of like a more realistic zelda mario.

I have weak pc but this game I play very nice I miss in past
There's lots of great older games out there; you certainly don't need the latest software to enjoy great games.
Dude...do a review for Phoenix Point!
I'm afraid that one isn't in my collection.
@@AdamTheFanatic Can we make it part of your collection?
Are you offering to purchase me a copy the game in order for me to do a review of it?
