    Stunning! The whole time I was watching I kept thinking about creamsicles. There's a place in Seattle called the Red Mill Burger and they make the absolute best creamsicle shakes. They taste just like they did when I was a kid. Happy New Year by the way

    If you don’t mind my asking, it seems like the lye water solution only needs to be strained through a fine mesh sieve sometimes, and other times it can be poured directly into the oil mixture. Why is this? I’m absolutely fascinated. Lovely work as always.
    🥰

    • @OpheliasSoapery
      @OpheliasSoapery  Před 5 lety +1

      Sometimes when I let my lye cool overnight a thin layer forms on the top called lye lint. You don’t have to strain it it will blend out. But I like to strain it :)

    How long must you wait to use the soap after preparing it ?

    • @OpheliasSoapery
      @OpheliasSoapery  Před 4 lety +1

      Once you cut it. Technically you could use it right away. But you would want to wait at least 4 weeks. You have to let soap cure to let the water evaporate so the soap becomes harder and milder.

      @OpheliasSoapery  Před 2 lety

      It’s when you cover your soap with a lid or some type of cover and then cover in a towel to let the soap heat up. It allows your soap to be harder and easier to unmold. Not to mention your colors even come out more vibrant. Also doing a water discount helps with unmolding too.
