  • David Foster is getting honest about welcoming a baby with his wife, Katharine McPhee, at the age of 71 and revealed that he doesn't regret having his son later in life. "I've loved every single day…even though I'm working a lot now, I'll cancel anything just to hang with him. It's just different," he told People. David, who is already dad to five daughters from previous relationships, welcomed his only son, Rennie, with the "American Idol" alum in February 2021.

@@katjaxxx7353 so odd how everyone assumes when anyone grows old they all become crippled and weak, confused and incontinent. My grandfather walked 5-10km a day and ate well lived a very healthy lifestyle up until he was 98. No one taking care of him. He passed away peacefully taking care of himself!

She knew what she was doing, she wanted a baby and the timing was perfect. He was divorced and were friends for a long time. There is nothing she can't do. She is a singer, a good dancer, was in a play on Broadway, was on a tv series. She gets what she wants.

Jean Jones I fully agree. That's a negative question from the start about a man who have made the world so much more beautiful with his works. Then we don't have to read Access anymore. Good to know. Me I'm writing on a novel and will later get same stupid questions I'm sure. Much happiness to the Foster sweet family Amen

I wouldn't be keen on parenting beyond 40 or 50 years old - it's tiring! But thankfully God gave women the time and body limit of prime health until menopause. If society stuck to that and took nature as giving us a sign of the optimal parenting window less people would bother to be new parents beyond 50...
But instead of trusting our body we say that's mean and 'love is love at any age'. Why is that called mean, unkind, bigoted, judgemental for thinking that...??
Family lives aren't ever be all about just what we parents want and prefer; there are natural consequences of being new parents when older, so before going there, I'd want to consider what's the optimal situation for kids? Am I being fair to have them right when I'm about to depart the planet?

WHY SHOULD HE? IF HE STILL HAS IT HE HAS IT! IN RELATIONSHIPS WITH LARGE GAPS IN AGE IF THE OLDER ONE IS THE MALE & THE FEMALE IS THAT YOUNG THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH HER WANTING & HAVING A BABY WHEN SHES STILL WITHIN THE BABY MAKING STAGES.

Obviously he and others choose this and do what they like. Thinking of ourselves if we were a kid right now, what would we prefer -
    1) a parent who is in fairly good health, will probably be alive until you're 40 or 50 years old. Someon mobile enough take you out places as you grow, do activities with you and travel? ??? Who is able to know and support their grandkids and pass on to them their knowledge...
Or 2) a parent who will definitely die before you're 30 years old and maybe by 20 years old? A parent who isn't as phsyically fit or has energy to spend time playing, coaching and being active or outgoing with you. Who potentially will deal with severe health issues and have care needs that reduce your quality time opportunities??

What do you expect him to say. He can't say I didn't want to have a child with my trophy wife. I feel sorry for the son since his father will miss most of his life. Yeah he will have money so I guess he will have a good life.
