If in the past Indian actors may have been generally too flabby, skinny or else just very ordinary, nowadays a conspicuous number of them have physiques that put even Anthony Joshua and James Haskell to shame!

No, not at all. If anything, beef is banned in a lot of regions in India. Because the majority religion of India is Hinduism (a whopping 78-80 % of India's population). And a Cow is considered sacred and an object of worship in Hindu religion so we are prohibited from eating cow meat. And this body building competition takes place in Karnataka state of India which is as radically Hindu majority as it can get. So, the short answer to your question is a big "NO".

@@MM-le9enthere's two categories of people in india: vegetarians and non-vegetarians. this applies to the gym scene as well. the non-vegetarians get their protein mostly from chicken, eggs and dairy products like paneer, curd, milk and whey protein. the vegetarians get it from dairy and soy.
