Im very curious to know how did marwaris who were on avg of around 59/61 height,get so tall.no disrespect,just curious.it's a legit question.
Not an expert but my experience with this breed, Over the years with careful breeding they have mastered, like wise the thoroughbreds look at the small size winners, Northern Dancer from Canada, compare the ones today. If Marwari Horses were bread with any other breed they will lose their shape of the ears, which is very unique in the equine World.Marwari Horse owner over 50years, Love their intelligence.personally speaking I like average height about 16 Hands. My stallion is 15.2, have got great results. unless someone wants to go for dressage Horse then height matters
They have bred horses to tall mares and looked after the horses properly back in the day the horses would be needed for work so they wouldn't receive much time for growth. Usually after 2 years they used to break the horse for riding the bones would still be developing of the horse and that would stunt the growth. Marwari horses should not be anything above 65 because then they lose their athletic abilities and only becomes a show horse and has very little use in riding. All the top riding horses are no taller than 63 inches in height from my personal experience
brother previous people started riding horses at the age of 3 years in the colt age and which made them reduce their height but now at the farm they take care of this and give proper diet and exercise which make them to take their height to so much

With good food and selective breeding among tall bloodlines of marwari horses, the height of result can be increased ... nowadays these r not desert horses eating low nutrition diet ... These horses have maintainance cost more than BMW ...
