This is a fascinating place where it is said that Lord Rama with an arrow made a fresh spring of water, which was fit for drinking, very near to the salty ocean.
The existence of this water body is a miraculous thing in itself.
Also the main temple, called, the Walkeshwar Temple, houses a Shiva Linga, created by Lord Rama himself to worship the deity, on his way to Sri Lanka.
