They omit the third verse on the radio and any youtube video found thus far. Good to hear it here. I was starting to think I'd imagined the whole thing. LOL
No, the third verse is only for the live version. On the radio they play the studio version. If you get Garth's live album, he sings this song with the third verse. Same with Friends in Low Places. The third verse in that song is only for live versions.
+Tyler Adams They used to play it on the radio when I was a kid. I'm guessing they stopped because of the implications of murder.
They were probably playing the live version of the song since there is no studio recording with the third verse. Radio still plays the live version. However, radio has changed a whole lot since we were kids. The way radio is nowadays, there is a lot they won't play for any number of reasons. like for instance, country radio will no longer play classic country unless its SiriusXM and they have a specific channel for classic country. Hell, old school country is barely played on FM radio nowadays. Country on FM radio nowadays is mostly all this modern country aka really bad rock music. So that's probably why it's not played much anymore.
just an FYI.. There is no Classic Country stations on FM radio like there is for rock with classic rock stations. I wish FM would do classic country stations but Americans won't support it. They want to pretend like it never existed until they have to recognize it at things like award shows and then people jump on the bandwagon like its the greatest music and suddenly start supporting it for the 2, 3 or 4 hours of the awards show and then once the awards show is over they go back to pretending it doesn't exist again.
I really wanna go to one of his concerts
Can't wait to see him at Yankee stadium this Saturday.
yes! got to love that infamous 3rd live verse!
+peterlabrie1 shouldve included that line in the studio version
