Yeah... that airconditioning prroblem they have to fix is a code word for "F*ck, we have a major problem, might as well try to fix it
I'm pretty sure they just say "air conditioning" for any problem whatsoever so that they don't panic people who don't know anything about planes.
The one time it is the AC, they’ll say that and they’ll have like an army of mechanics and electricians and all of the airport emergency response crews show up and they’ll be like “Actually, it is just the AC.”

It may have been a problem with the A.C., all the air intake for the plane is handled by the engines usually

Actually kind of interesting, the way you receive breathable air is from the engine. Generally coming from the tenth stage of the compressor called engine bleed air, which means it is completely clean but extremely hot (~250 degrees C) since the air is so compressed. So they use 2-4 AC packs to cool down this air so you don’t roast in the cabin. So yes the aircraft probably was having a problem with the AC, but since you were on the ground air wasn’t yet coming in from the engine.

All meals are sealed when they get to the customer so there's no way the guy would have dropped it. You're not allowed to open meals up like that before the customer gets it.
Maybe he meant it as though the flight attendant dropped it while handing her the container. I've seen it happen on a flight I was on.

"Run Like Hell" could be an alternate divination.
AC in modern jet aircraft is always powered by one or all engines. Ergo smoke coming out could very well be an issue with the AC, or the AC would cause smoke to circulate in the aircraft.

0:42 I had the same experience with Gus. I was on a United flight from Seattle to Chicago . Right before the plane took off I smelled airplane fuel and when the airplane took off, the engine blew and now the flight was cancelled after that. In return because of that so called accident and just to makes us shut up about the incident we got first class seating.

she probably wasn't just starving herself, she was more than likely allergic to gluten and couldn't find gluten free foods at airports while traveling. her crying was probably partially frustration and partially hunger.

The plane was probably only smoking because of an excess oil buildup after they fixed it so it was just burning off, glad you didn't die Gus!
