I really loved this video! I too post videos in support of our Down Syndrome toddler only to spread awareness, cause when we discovered we were blessed with a trisomy21 child we were clueless on expectations and who or where to turn to for guidance and support. I subscribed to your channel to demonstrate support. Great Video!
Neither! This is just a pure accident that happens early in development. If your parents did not have Downs, they did not pass it- it just happened totally accidentally when chromosomes were being arranged and split and duplicated.
THE MOTHER, FEMALE GAMETES ARE STUCK IN PROPHASE 1 OF MEIOSIS 1 UNTIL THEY START OVULATING ONE BY ONE FROM THE AGE OF 12-13 TO 47-50 (MENOPAUSE) SO AROUND LESS THAN 500 OOCYTES WILL UNDERGO CSF, THE THING IS THE OOCYTES THAT STAY ON PROPHASE UNTIL 47-50 ARE SUBJECT TO MUTAGENS (RADIATIONS, CERTAIN MOLECULES IN REFINED PRODUCTS, SOUND WAVES, ETC.) THEY WILL SUFFER FROM THAT AND THE NON DISJUNCTION PROCESS MAY OCCUR TO THESE CELLS WHICH WILL INCREASE THE CHANCES OF A ANEUPLOIDY LIKE DOWN SYNDROME FROM HAPPENING. SINCERELY, DR. I'm not really sure what you mean by stubborn smart, but intellectual disability is defined in DSM-V as having significant deficiencies in cognitive functioning as well as deficiencies in adaptive behavior aka having practical skills for everyday life (grooming, social skills etc). So it's kinda contradictory to say he's smart but has intellectual disability. Maybe if you said he's smart despite having a *learning* disability, that would make more sense.
You are not really going into much detail. For example you have mentioned the term Congenital hypothyroidism but you haven't explained what this means or how it can affect the patient in the future. You have just mentioned how it is discovered in a patient and that was very briefly explained in a few words. You have done this with the majority of the terms in this video. not very helpful :(
There was plenty of detail in this video. When you encounter something that you do not understand you need to do research, your own research into whatever it is that you do not understand. That is how you learn 🌈
Bcs this was a quick and high yield video. So this is really quite a lot of info for a short video. If you want detailed you'll have to look for way longer videos.
vaccinations can't cause Down Syndrome. The only thing known to increase the risk of Down syndrome is the age of the mother. Other than that there is nothing one can do to prevent Down syndrome.
@@biratghimire97 its ok....nobody wants to be cast out and something else being normal means the not normal just got cast out. Its understandable why they would feel hurt or called out.

Avoid using the term ‘normal’ this can be offensive, instead use ‘typical’
Ooh a snowflake smh ❄️
Birat Ghimire no just educated mate! My son has Down syndrome
I’m sorry about that. But how is calling a normal kid normal offensive?

How about we call normal people normal and call people with DS atypical? Does that sound about right?
