The gem of the lecture (in my opinion) was the quote by Ibn Taymiyyah to Ibn Qayyim regarding doubts that the latter had:
"Do not allow your heart to be a sponge for every doubt and allegation so that it drinks them up and is moistened with nothing else. Instead, make your heart like solid glass; doubts pass over its surface but do not settle on the inside. Thus, the doubts are seen through the clearness of the glass, but are repelled by its firmness. Otherwise, if you allow your heart to drink every doubt you encounter, it will end up affirming them.

28:40 This is often difficult. On the one hand you want to cut out the attacks and allegations of critics on the internet and just ignore it. But on the other hand, you want to answer them to not leave them unanswered on the internet where everyone including doubting muslims can read them without an islamic answer, so you spend time answering them but being exposed to them confuses you even more and you want to know the islamic answer to them.
Sometimes you have become careful to not become the thing you fight.

A frustrating thing is when they try to refute our arguments by saying “Quran isnt preserved”, “Religeous people misrepresent science” and “ Religious people use straw man arguments”

@@abdullahx4908 when people speak out of ignorance we don't need to be frustrated rather demand proofs. The Islamic scholarship has battled all of the subuhaat already. It feels frustrating to repeat them but by repeating only your confidence emboldens

I think the best way to encounter doubts is discussing them in the community, with Imams, close friends etc. by asking questions and explaining problems. Often there are answers to problems and doubts and some people might have experienced them before (and found solutions they can tell you). If people are forbidden to ask critical questions and explain doubts this will only increase these doubts inside them and will make them eventually leave Islam. We should prevent this by talking about their questions and doubts.
Another thing to keep in mind is to rely on experience. Personal experiences, visions, dreams that made you realize Allah in the past and that form your spirituality. And remember positive experiences inside your community, if the good behaviour of people comes from religious teachings it means they act in a very islamic way and bring you closer to Allah. If you have negative experiences with people in your community, remember that humans are not perfect and can commit sins, and if they did immoral things Allah will punish them.
Also keep in mind that cultural influence plays a big role. Cultural influences like marriage traditions, family honor etc. are often falsely attributed to Islam even though they do not come from islamic teachings, so cultural influences are to blame, not the religion.

I would also advise people to not watch or look at anti- islamic stuff and also avoid watching debates such as islam vs atheism or islam vs christianity etc. Cause these arguments they bring up can lead to doubts even though islam has answers for them its better to just avoid it.

Also if someone has waswasa on a specific topic, i would research that topic bc if your dismiss it as waswasa and the thoughts come back it can lead to having doubts, so its better to research it before the thought enters the heart

The Shakk-Mindset. is so true. whenever I wanted to do a certain sin, I suddenly remembered doubts I had and it made me go like "you know what just do it. It's possibly not true anyway" Then obviously just after I was like, damn what did I just do I'm quite shocked
