I could sit and listen to Dom all day. A great parallel to the time I was seated next to Mike Clarke, Bill Ludwig and Pete Lockett at the Cape Breton Drum Festival. I was expecting to meet for dinner with a couple of drummer buddies only to be seated among legends.
So sorry to hear about Dom's passing on 9/27/23. My game-changing moment was seeing Dom and Simon Phillips at a drum clinic in 1983 for Drum Headquarters in St. Louis. I recorded the clinic and it became my listening Playlist for the next 6 mos. I dissected and learned every one of Dom's grooves from that day. Dom, thank you for the inspiration - May you rest in peace.
This is the best story ever. Dom is a stud. Praise Buddy Rich!!
What a great story, told in a really clear and captivating way. Thanks for sharing it Mr Famularo !
I really loved what Mr Famularo said said about learning to listen..
Sage words from a truly great drum communicator.
Wow...what an incredible story! I can't even imagine what that was like. Thanks for sharing Dom!
An incredible story. Beautifully told. I met Dom in 1994 in Wellington, New Zealand at a clinic. A great guy. Phenomenal drummer too.

Wonderful story....
what an amazing story!!
Dom, thanks for sharing, fascinating testimony.
I had Dereky Roddy sign my stick's, in 2010 at DrumTek, in Melbourne i miss those's day's, i have also seen Dom Famularo in 1998 i think i was 9 year's old at the time, this Drummer at DrumTek was with Virgil Donati, but now it's so hard these's day's, so many Awesome Drummer's out there, Baard Kolstad is from Norway, i really like Drum's, and yes i do play Drum's by Ear, & i wish i could teach people so bad, because i know how people feel, & i wish i could give that, great feeling that amaze's me but give them something back in return, but i can't read by note's i could only teach by ear, is it a good thing 2 teach by ear.
What a fantastic story. I actually heard this story in person from Dom..Studying with Dom has been my game changing moment..You wont meet a nicer more passionnatte and caring person than Dom, oh except maybe Mrs Dom, lol!!

All Miller, Dom Famularo, Steve Gadd, and Buddy Rich all in one room? God to be a fly on that wall!
What a beautiful person Dom! So proud to have met him in my homeland in Kiev.
I could watch Dom talk about anything
Absolutely love his enthusiasm!
Fantastic, just imagine it :-)
And I was very very fortunate to see Dom perform a clinic many many years ago in Cardiff. Nigel Cyril (local Cardiff drummer) supported him.
Amazing story
This is a great story of our American history. There was always something cool about Dom Famularo. I didn't know he was a Long Island cat! Buddy Rich was born in Brooklyn! The drumset is also an instrument which was created in America!
Absolutely brilliant story!
One of my game-changing moments was watching a Dom's clinic at the local music store back in 2005. I was 15 yrs old and blown away... and I'm not even a drummer xD the best clinic ever! He's coming back next week. I can't wait!! :D
This guy... man... I love this guy.
I have to say it again... I love this human being... What a positive force for life.
