If you want to beat him once on normal mode first, that's fine. But if you're gonna be farming him, potentially 100 times, you definitely want easy mode for the buffs.
Tip: After killing Angelus 0. Before the exp tallying, save your game. And reload it (vice versa) , it increases the chances of Angelus 0 Spawn. ;)
summon actually is very useful because the boss is bugged. if you summon while the boss is in "VUNERABLE" state from breaking something on him he will stay in that state for the entire rest of the fight as long as you dont break any more things on him or use techniques.

Haha, first time I saw him I was around Lv. 70. Didn't think much of it and started fighting him. I managed to kill him, but it took forever and a couple Ramuh summons, lol.

But they did when I fought him. Does it matter that I encountered this thing before beating the game? They were the only way I was able to beat this thing, lol.

A well made and very explanatory video, well done! IMHO, the pain getting them is far greater than the gain. Let me explain: You will not have more attack points than if you wore 3 Dark Matter Bracelets (guaranteed in a couple of hours while having fun playing the mini game in Altissia). HP is of little importance as it doesn't matter if you have 9999 or 6000 for a boss that is programmed to kill you in 1-2 hits. The only party member worth keeping alive (for the Enhancement skill) is Ignis and he already has 9999 HP (Adamantite Bangle). Extra defence against elements is the only thing I like in the Suit V2 but again if you are even a bit good at dodging (or acquire the Ribbon) it's not that big of a deal. As you have guessed, I had a lot of time to think about all this while farming for the suit (no luck)... :( For me, it's not worth the try...

Hi happy, i keep farming angelus for 3 days already and still no luck.. i usually reload my save after it dies and doesn't drop the V2, do you think i should save after killing it then reload that new save? i'm thinking that the angelus has a locked drop so reloading the previous save won't do me any good if i already know that it won't drop the V2

Soooo... why aren't these suits outfits. By that I mean, when you equip things like Long Johns, Magitek Suits and the like, WHY aren't they new outfits, entirely. You know what I mean?

Hey when does it show up though. Do you have to play the main campaign till chapter 15 before it starts to drop?... Patria has shown up maybe like 3 or 4 times now but never the beast we are fighting now in the video.
so once you beat max angelus and get the drop do you save the game and then camp for the next day?

1 possible way to help speed this process up, is if you have a summon at the ready, as soon as you break him, use the summon (skip the animation or not) and the boss will stay in a vulnerable state in a collapsed heap on the ground allowing you to freely wail on the enemy until its death.
But you have to be real quick on when you break him as if the boss stands back up before you get the summon off, it doesn't do anything and you are back to fighting him regularly, otherwise you can destroy him super quick.
getting your health to like 1 with the apocalypse GS wouldnt that guaranty 10k warp strikes with revive buff?

I've gone 17-2. 17 regular, 2 v2's. whenever I get him to spawn I just wait for the next drop ship. he spawned 8 times before troops hopped out. was a decent grind.
i don't really like to waste my time to get dark matter accessories if im going to get these anyways, is that fine to just go with what accessories i have and just use the v1 if even v2 doesn't drop?

One question, if you set your game in easy mode does the item or rare item drop rate will decrease as well? Like same goes some other rpgs or mmorpgs. Does this support any proofs with regards of drop rate? Or it's all in your luck? Thanks..
Nah Easy Mode is still the same drop rates. Regardless of that, Magitek Suit V1 is 100% in this case, and 5% chance for it to become the V2, so even if drop rates were affected this is a case where they aren't reduced

Do I need to do the Platinum Demo to unlock Carbuncle? Or will he still save my ass on easy mode? I did the Platinum Demo on my POS Xbox One, but I got FF15 on my PS4 Pro cuz fuck my XB1.

you can also spam Alterna since it's not one of the things the boss is immune to, using the Magitek Exosuit to stay alive the Ether costs might actually be more efficient for your gil

Hey Happy have you try use the Star of the Rogue Royal Arm instead of the Zwill Crossblades? When you warp strike with Star of the Rogue you hit multiple times and as Royal arm it ignores the defence of the target
Go one step further and use Ignis' Overwhelm with the Bow Royal Arm. Beautiful
If you can upload that fight; btw was watching the video of your steam on twitch and the food they were referring was Marrowshroom Chowder you can unlock buy purchase the Iron Shelf Recipes, Vol. 5 from Old Gobunat's Boat (Altissa) this only have the buff Clairvoyant: Guarantees Critical Hits but use cheaper ingredients than the Golden Tail Soup
Bow Royal Arm's damage depends on your magic stat though, if you went for full strength setup, it'd be hard to get the most out of it.
I noticed that in your videos you seem to use ignis enhancement ability a lot which I have even used yet I basically just selected the last 3 techniques for all 3 of my people was this a bad move?

I think I will try everything here, except for carbuncle boost, is annoying to take 15 minutes per hunt, but easy mode just not happening for me. Whish carbuncle where a regular summon and not a easy mode system though.

I fought him yesterday during...Chapter 7, I believe it was. I was at Level 89 at the time, and holy cow, he hit hard! Even though my level was higher than his/hers/its level. I started it early in the (in-game) day, and by nearly midnight (again, in-game), I did MAYBE 15% or so damage to him. Very, very little, in other words. Prompto and Ignis were dead, Gladdy was down to 1 HP, and Noctis was in the Danger zone, so things weren't looking good. Miracle of miracles, a summon prompt showed up, I summoned Titan, and that took care of things.
I LOVE how even though my level is so high, there are more than a few enemies in this game that can still kick my behind. Lots of them, in fact. That's one of the things I love about this game. Plus, fighting just feels so GOOD.
Sounds like you ran into MA-X Patria, not MA-X Angelus. MA-X Angelus is straight up immune to summons, but Patria is vulnerable
Ah! You are totally right, sir. I checked my screencaps and it was indeed MA-X Patria. Thank you for correcting me. :) I appreciate it. Well, I'm sure I'll be encountering MA-X Angelus soon, anyway. I had a hard enough time with Patria, so Angelus should be an interesting challenge.
What I said about loving how there are plenty of still challenging battles even when you are high level still stands true, though. When I get high level in a game, I always worry that ALL the challenge will go away. I'm so happy to see that Final Fantasy XV still throws some tough ones at us (this does NOT include those enemies that take a long time to defeat but are otherwise easy to beat). I look forward to what the DLC brings us. I'm praying for Gilgamesh.

if you do a quick save and reload after you kill it but BEFORE it explodes you don't get the delay on respawning it
So kill > item drop > save > load > whistle again for dropships, should get it to come within 5 dropships, I usually average 2 ships after loading to make it repop
this machine big boss here is suddenly drop out of nowhere while I'm fighting 2 lvl68 huge serpents IN NIGHT (the name's Grootslang. From restaurant's bounty hunt). What a day for me.
So I was reading that in order to kill this one, you have to kill patria first but where does that one spawn at? I can't remember if I have killed that one yet, and I can't seem to get either one to come out.
Patria's fought the same way you fight the other dropship enemies. You just have to be patient and wait for it.

Yeah, there's like three different possible encounters with the dropship if you fulfill the conditions:
1) a group of MTs
2) a magitek armor with a contingency of MTs
3) The Angelus magitek by itself.

I killed him today for the first time took me a while and i got the v2 on first try! i did it on normal tho if i change to easy will i loose any trophie by doing so?
Fábio Nunes There is only one difficulty based trophy which is the one you get for killing Ifrit on normal mode.
How many super bosses are there in FFXV? Adamantoise, Angelus and that's it? (not counting the dungeon bosses)
The other superbosses are mostly like Angelus: reskins of existing strong enemies.
Naglfar is the final boss of the Legendary Weapon questline, Lv 120 Deathclaw
Bilfrost is the final boss of the Menace beneath Costlemark, and is a reskin of the Giant Snake enemies
Akayashi (or something like that) is a Level 110 Samurai mob for a hunt
Daemonwall is a unique hunt-boss at the Monster Hunter HQ, though only Lv 87.
There are others, but similar to the ones above they lack unique traits. They promised us interesting boss battles as free limited time DLC so we'll see where that takes us.
Ah, I did all those other ones :P fun.
But ya, I was a bit disappointed the locked door dungeons weren't more interesting or at LEAST had unique bosses at the end.

Either your information is wrong about the 100% drop rate on the V1 or i got glitched because i killed him just now and i didnt get anything at all.
i seen some one use the dark matter bracelet on faceing the wall demon it take to much time to try and get one dark matter bracelet i not got one i face the wall demon some how got it ware he move all the way back to ware he start it and did not move wall demon easy to kill but a lil of a pain
just get 80 of those things in justice monsters game in altissia the 10000gil machine and the reward is a dark matter bracelet. boring but easy way to get a bunch of them. but they are kind of pointless once you get a few magitek suit v2s. I just wonder what's the point of farming items once you have completed everything in the game. i doubt new game + will allow to keep those items.

Enhancement doesn't stack in mine or anybody I know's experience, it just replaces the old elemental buff. Enhancement against Angelus also does more damage if he's sitting in the spell type that matches the elemental buff. So to get the most out of your buff, and get the fastest kill, you get an elemental buff, use a quad/quint cast of a matching element (limit break magic does not give a big enough difference in damage against Angelus), and then hit face. Also, as a more affordable alternative to Golden Tail soup, you can buy the recipe for Marrowshroom Chowder from Old Gobunant's Boat in Altissia. The recipe guarantees critical hits, and two of its ingredients can be bought from Lestallum, with the third purchasable from the vendor in Old Lestallum.
You can't stack the same element, but you can and do receive different buffs for each different element enhancement. You can even see in the video I have all the different buffs
Enhancement gives one elemental buff, and you cannot have two or more active at the same time. If I were to receive a fire buff against Angelus, and then an ice buff immediately after, only the ice buff will be active. The fire buff is gone. Replaced.
An accepted reason, on the threads I've seen on reddit, for why you get multiple types of buffs, is because Angelus' elemental weakness changes throughout the fight.
If any of this sounds rude, then I apologize. I'm only trying to be helpful with the knowledge I have.
I'm just telling you what you're saying is incorrect, you can see in the video if you watch the buff bar that you can have multiple enhancement buffs active at once. You can see it cycle between showing the active buffs, in which you see Carbuncle, Strength, Fire & Ice. You can indeed benefit from all three enhancement buffs at once if you're lucky enough to RNG into them. I've done this on tons of different encounters, all of them react exactly the same as Angelus. Its not an Angelus specific thing

Can someone help me? All im doing is trying to get the Magitek Suit V2 ONLY. So what I do is when I kill him and doesn't drop the V2, I reload straight away... been doing this forever and I think iv'e easily killed this damn thing 70+ times and still no V2 drop. Am I decreasing the drop rate that way? because its starting to get me thinking wtf am I doing wrong....
might as well keep the V1s till you have 12 of em anyway.

Hes saying to get 12 of them just to deck out the party with V1s, since wearing three V1s is still a decent stat bump (3k hp, 210str, 150 VIT if memory serves)

@@Cherryptls Theres a postgame sidequest given to you by Ezma from the Meldacio Hunter HQ (found on a road east of the Vesperpool). After clearing all regular dungeons (even the optional ones), she'll grant you a quest that allows you to open the sealed doors you find at the ends of various dungeons. The doors lead to challenge dungeons that work like a non-stop survival mode (Think Bloody Palace if you've played DMC). The goal is to reach the end and kill off a boss as you would a regular dungeon, except the enemies you face are a lot more challenging and come at you in waves with each descending floor. Obviously though this means the items you find in those dungeons are some of the best in the game, and the higher level enemies are ideal for exp grinds. Just beware they're challenge dungeons for a reason
I just went in with promtus' and his talisman in the second half of my first fight and just started smg spamed his face took about a half hour. It's Insane that you can do this in 2 min.

This is very late but no, it's not worth farming the v2 suit. The regular version is good enough tbh.
I tried looking for him for hours and when I did, he glitched so I did a crap ton of damage to him and got the v2 suit on my first try XD

95% chance for v1, 5% chance for v2 :P Also, you forgot to mention Angelus' little brother, Ma-X Patria (Angelus won't spawn until you beat him), drops another EXTREMELY RARE AND VALUABLE item, namely the Magitek Core. Since it's an almost guaranteed drop, that's the best way to get it. You also get it as the reward for the sidequest Stealing The Past, which takes you literally right up to the front door of the Pitioss Ruins.
8 normal mode Angelus and 11 easy mode, still no damn V2... This is definitely up there with an mmo style farm. I like it, but hate it at the same time lol. I guess at least it's something to do while we wait on more dlc.
I beat it under 15 minutes, which a personal great. I know it was under 15 minutes cuz I had the Exosuits equipped at full charge for it and I beat 2 of them back-to-back (idk how, but the next dropship that came had an Angelus 0 in it :P)

I waited for 1 hour and only got 1 spawn which gave me a Magitek suot which I alreadt have. Ten minutes later was about to do a timed quest and one spawned out of nowhere and it gave me the V2

Go to the water tower near cotisse camp site best spawn and drop rate is better in that area for some reason I got one in 2 tries, compared to the other spot where I didn’t get one in 50 tries but farming these is an amazing exp buff.. Eat the lasagna 100% exp bonus and it’s good for like 20 fights while trying to obtain a magV2.. I got to lvl 120 easily like this
normal mode, first and only time ive seen him, took about five and a half minutes. i wrongly assumed that ignis buffed me with an element angelos was weak to at the time (as if its resistances changed sporadically) but it kind worked. id buff, switch materia to that element, next time it attacked id let it have it. tricasts mostly, saw fair numbers. i was trying a spellcast setup at the time so had magic enhancement food as well as accessories. no v2
This sounds more like the fight Against Patria, not Angelus, who is much easier to kill

no. i garuantee you. this was my experience with max angelos. noct and the gang are max lv, and with the set up i had just under 2k magic, bringing even dualcast thundara up to 9999x2 on most mobs unless resistant. i hit lv 99 angelos for no less than 3-4k x3(changing between tricast blizaga, tricast firaga, quadcast thundaga) plus melee damage, which was negligible. felt like 3-5mins, so it likely too a bit longer than that.
i think you guys might be underestimating just how op magic is in this game
I killed him in about 3 min, no ruby needed, Instead I use muscle stimulator. Which I didn't know was that any part of the Angelus can drop the Magitek Suit V2

Nah its an old rule of loot tables: you can't increase the drop rate of something that has a 100% drop rate. Since the Magitek Suit has 100% drop rate and the V2 just has a 5% chance of replacing it, you can't double the chance to 10% by increasing drop rate.
It took me 39 minutes in normal u have to have a partner a live no more than one better if prompto. Hit the heat and shoulder to break it. Also better to be close when he is about to hit the floor with it left hand u will parry and do much damage. Amiger on central body and triangle right before it ends. Watch out right end movement when it lift it throw your weapon or teleport to the blue spot.
If I knew all this would have beat it way faster. Easy mode can't cut it for me. Now I beat all enemies even costlmark lock door that was hard as hell.
