the vocal of this song was Ka Keung（家強）who is Ka Kui‘s younger brother,the bass guitar player in Beyond. This song also has a live version which obtained a part of good bass solo, but the ending was not as drama as this version you listened.

This song is actually sung by his younger brother, who is also the bassist of the band. Certainly being brothers, their voices may sound similar at times. You should check out: czcams.com/video/WRl7MKZOlhM/video.html This is a live concert in 1996, actually the first live concert the band held since the death of Ka Kui in 1993. This video shows the younger brother singing one of their hit song, Glorious Days. That time, Ka Keung's voice was very similar to his brother's, especially when singing some of the high notes. Brought tears and imagination as if Ka Kui was still there on stage.

It's another commercial poppy love song released by Beyond to please the mainstream HK audience. You'll find a lot of suggestions here tend to lean towards that kind of pop love song genre. But they're not what Beyond really wanted to do. The lead guitarist Paul Wong once said Ka Kui is a music genius and we had only seen a small fraction of his talent and skills, because he could only give what the HK audience wanted. Very sad. BTW, this song was sung by Ka Kui's younger brother, also the bass guitarist, whose voice is not as good.

冷雨夜 best of live version
This song was almost left out by Kar Kui after he wrote it. He feel it is too commercial at that early days when the band formed. His younger brother Kar Kueng take up this song to write the lyrics and sing himself. Than we only have chance to listen to this song.
In fact there is another nice song 喜欢你 (I like you) you should listen to... It is a nice melody ballad which Kar Kui wrote for his ex girlfriend and this song has been covered by many other singer is various languages as well. Is one of a popular from Beyond.
