Gatti is a model for every boxer that wants to be considered a great boxer. you dont have to win every one. its the heart and and type of character you are. sad ending to his life. he will never be forgotten by us fans of the sport that were around to follow his career . he is missed .
I’ll never forget this night. I cried and I’ll never forget everything Gatti did for us boxing fans, gracias Arturo you were the best and till this day I haven’t seen a fighter who can do the magic you did in the ring man.
Arturo will always be in my book one of the greatest fighters ever. He is truly an inspiration to fighters and real people everywhere. he's the prime example that "grit and determination can accomplish anything". God Bless Arturo and hope to see him in the Boxing Hall Of Fame soon.
I agree with you Verhallt. His retirement was overdue. Brings tears to my eyes to see Arturo Gatti so badly battered by a guy who probably would not have lasted two rounds with him only two years ago. Seriously, ask Jesse James Leija.
gatti, even though you are not with us anymore... you are still earning more fans... gatti thank you for the great and exciting fights you had... you sure did great in boxing... you showed us your heart, courage and the spirit of a true champ... you are a champ to us gatti... thank you... r.i.p.
Awsome fighter!Incredible heart and staminia!!! Met him at the Theater Night club in Ft Laudedale mid or late 90s while competing at a toughman competition. At the time he was training for a fight with Tracy Patterson. He was with a few other guys from his camp one I beleive was his brother. They were true class acts even inviting me to their cubicle and offering me champane after my fight.
gatti came with all heart and passion, with the love of his fans he would fight a lion. you cant compare anything to that,i'll always be a fan and he will always be my favorite boxer! we love you to gatti!
He was a real and honest fighter and a great person.. Hope he is in a better place now..... He has and he will be an inspiration for all of us...... Bye Arturo........
My favourite ever! This guys done so much for boxing over the last 2 decades. He may not be the best boxer but he made the general public take interest in the sport. Its sad to see him retire even though I've wanted him to for 5yrs now. He got alot of $ in the final years but he earned them. Very few would have taken the punishment he did without quitting. He went from quick KO wins to 12round losses but they were always exciting. Thanks for the memories.
Arturo you will always be my favorite fighter, you always came to fight and with the skills you had you made the most of it. 2 Time WORLDDDDD CHAMPION ARTURO THUNDER GATTI.
it had to end sometime, but really: my deepest respect goes to gatti, this guy had a big heart. he was not the best welter but people loved him more than many, many others just for his tenacity. goodbye arturo.
Gatti was and will always be one of the most remembered fighters of our time, some of the comments here ar pathetic and totally disrespectful to a fighter that gaved 1,000,000,000 in every fight!!! If only there was more fighters like him around!!! Enjoy your retirement Gatti, you will be missed!!!
Gatti is one of the best boxers ever to step into a ring... he has the biggest heart out of any boxer... it' s just a shame all the hits has taken its toll... but I have a feeling it is not over... a Warrior always want to fight... hopefully if he gets backinto 100%... he can have another fight and go out on top
He was great, guy. He's defeated Tracy Patterson twice, Leonard Dorin, Joe Gamache, Jesse James Leija, and let's not forget Wilson Rodriguez. He was a great fighter and, baby, his defense was inpenetrable like an American tank.
One of the classiest boxers INSIDE the ropes. I don't give a damn what people say about his behavior outside the ropes, he fought like an all time great inside them. Thank you, Arturo.
I would've loved to see a pacquiao gatti fight but gatti, you've done the right decision and thank you for giving us something to lift us up in times when we are down. You're name should've been ARTURO 'THE LION HEART' Gatti for you truely have a True Warrior's heart. Thanx again and in whatever you do, keep fighting.
This guy has class big time. More boxers should be like him. He has alot of class. Alot of people will say he acted like that because he lost right? Ok thats fine but lets look at alot of other people who were defeated and made excuses. Tarver, Hopkins, Winky Wright, De La hoya, Margarito. I like this dude alot after this interview.
I agree he wasnt an elite, but not many men could withstand the punishment he took and kept coming AT YOU. He had a very crowd pleasing style and thats what we loved about him.... we were like "win, lose or draw", HES STILL OUR GUY! and there are very few boxers that you can say that about.
poor Gatti, the ref stopped this one way too soon, Gatti was just shot completely, showed a lot of courage to even take the fight. enjoy the rest of your life Arturo Gatti...the real Rocky Balboa.
I didn't see the fight, I was at the Williams/Margarito fight that night, but I'm glad to see him retire. You gotta love Gatti: tough, exciting, and classy. Regardless of race, weight class, any of that, Gatti was good for boxing, I wish him well.
Remember that gomez fight was a sad night and this interview is hard to watch knowing what happened to gatti. Amazing the guy hugging him put him through 30 rounds of pain and misery and always loved him and then the woman kissing him is the one to kill him. Rip Gatti
Even her hugs and kisses look false, this woman didn't love him at all she knew what she wanted from the start. May you rest in eternal peace Gatti, my hero.
Wow..is that Amanda Rodriguez at the end? Ironic.. He'll be a legend of boxing history forever. Even after the world forgets Mayweather. Hall of Famer first ballot!!!
Rest easy champ. Arturo Gatti the people's Champion a two-time world champion and he did it his way. Yes he was the blood and guts Warrior but he was also a superb boxer with a thunderous punch at 1:40 and the biggest set of stones and heart I've ever seen on a boxer in recent years
@PortOrangeGuy He could'nt diet down to 140 without weakening himself too much to effect his performance, yet at the same time he could'nt be as strong as naturally bigger guys are at 147. It happens to boxers as they age just like most people they tend to put on weight. You do realise that most fighters are not walking around at fighting weight? They diet and dehydrate themselves to make the weigh in then quickly put on an extra 10+lbs before the fight. This gets harder to do as you get older.
i loved arturo gatti's fights but honestly, he should have retired 2 years ago. still he is the my favorite fighter of all time who gave us the best fight of all time in gatti vs ward
I was at this fight and remember when he stormed out of the ring after the fight was stopped, his psycho girlfriend ran up to him and he pushed her away. I could since the tension between them. Kelvin King
Sad. He honestly should've retired after Ward III. He took so much punishment in that trilogy and through his career up to that point. Going on to fight Mayweather a couple of yrs later was a disaster. He took such a beating and it was painful to watch.
@TheTerrorUforgot dam straight, i thought Arturo had pretty good boxing ability he just chose to brawl and max was always saying hes not good hes just exciting, anyone who is a two time world champ cant be that bad
I believe Gatti was lost and depressed since retirement. It was all over his face during this interview. Considering the circumstances surrounding his death, not sure if he would take his life over it though.
9 losses from 41 fights... not bad if you ask me... All the ones he lost went on to win titles also, whether beating him for it or taking it soon after!
Is the woman there his wife that is supposed to have killed him? Cool to see Micky Ward there as I just saw "The Fighter" a little while ago, and that is why I started looking up all these videos. RIP Gatti.
Amazing for Hatton fans. Arturo would've gotten beat worse than he did against Gomez and Baldomir. Nah, he should've walked out after Damgaard, even though he's pretty much been a shot fighter since the third Ward fight.
I wanna see a move about Gatti's life, focusing on the trilogy with Ward, with the cast of "The Fighter" reprising their roles!
Focusing on his death I think
Gatti is a model for every boxer that wants to be considered a great boxer. you dont have to win every one. its the heart and and type of character you are. sad ending to his life. he will never be forgotten by us fans of the sport that were around to follow his career . he is missed .

Arturo Gatti. you are a boxing legend, and your memory will last forever!!!
And the lady who's kissing and an consoling him...murders him only two years later!!
I’ll never forget this night. I cried and I’ll never forget everything Gatti did for us boxing fans, gracias Arturo you were the best and till this day I haven’t seen a fighter who can do the magic you did in the ring man.
Rest In Peace Champ

Kelvin King

i agree
Sugar Ray Robinson was the best pound for pound boxer of all time in my opinion...but gatti was definitely up there
Gatti was the last of a certain ilk of fighter.
@TheTerrorUforgot dam straight, i thought Arturo had pretty good boxing ability he just chose to brawl and max was always saying hes not good hes just exciting, anyone who is a two time world champ cant be that bad
r.i.p....
RIP
I believe Gatti was lost and depressed since retirement. It was all over his face during this interview. Considering the circumstances surrounding his death, not sure if he would take his life over it though.
Yeah it was on his face during the interview because he just lost a fight, not an indicator for killing yourself everyone is upset after they lose
Rip
rip thunder
9 losses from 41 fights... not bad if you ask me... All the ones he lost went on to win titles also, whether beating him for it or taking it soon after!
I wish it was Larry Merchant instead of Kellerman that was doing this final Gatti interview.
This is a decade later but I agree. Larry Merchant always showed love towards Arturo Gatti and loved his old school fighting style.
9 loses is bad but he is a good fighter.
does anybody noe wat happened to the gatti video with the song otherside plz let me noe!!!!
you really got the point,in this ugly and corrupted world gatti and ward should be an example.
2 fights of the year with ward, whos ur fav

Is the woman there his wife that is supposed to have killed him?
Cool to see Micky Ward there as I just saw "The Fighter" a little while ago, and that is why I started looking up all these videos. RIP Gatti.
yes,it's her!!!
😞
he was Born in Italy how do you explain his name Arturo Gatti
Amazing for Hatton fans. Arturo would've gotten beat worse than he did against Gomez and Baldomir. Nah, he should've walked out after Damgaard, even though he's pretty much been a shot fighter since the third Ward fight.
