The quality of your videos has come so far. And the yard was so empty back then. Keep your stick on the ice!!
I think our brains adjust. This was not that shitty back then. I Have been thinking alot about it. Something is wrong or very right. haha
I have watched CWM for about 5 or 6 years now and love all the content on this channel. When an old video come's across My for You I love it. This one just did and now I'm going to go back and watch some more. Cheer's to Scott & all the other Agents for the bang-up great job on all these old ride's.. 👏😎
Long time ago. You have come so far. Still, this is the rich stock of which you fleshed out to be the CWM of today. I loved this. As uniquely styled as these were, my Dad chased one for a while, but it got away. And it made me love them.
Great to see this old stuff buddy! The place has changed a lot since then - except Deans voice, you can pick that a mile away. Cheers from the lockdown capital!!
11 years ago you guys are still the bomb car club 😮😂😅🎉❤
@IanTC12 Thanks for checking it out. I eventually finished reassembling the interior, and it looks like a car again. As for ugly; well, I guess awkward might be a better term. I think the styling could have worked, had Chrysler not downsized the chassis that year. A well engineered car, the basic chassis design lasted well into the late 70's. Road Runners, Coronets, Satellites, etc. all rode this platform, and were arguably much better-looking interpretations of it. 62's are rare today, though!
Hey Scott, was Dean around from the start? If not roughly when did he slide, roll or be dragged into the crew?
Random troubadours accompanying the engine install...nice!
I truly wonder who's more twisted, you for fixing these things, or me for watching you do it.lol
It was good to see Stella again. Great video
Been watching this channel forever and still love coming back for these classics.
Your a bad ass man never quit!
Your a big reason so many of us haven’t yet!
The world sucks but at least we have your occasional content to look forward to.
My old 440 powered bracket racer, a 62 Sport Fury was a 2 door that a buddy if mine had painted white... Still had the manual shift modified push button 727 too! 3.91 gear. I MISS that car ! ! !
I love Stella! She's an awesome dog.
My grand mom raced Chrysler 300's and swore by them, she had this 62 and loved it. 1 of her favs
On 5/8/2023 I watched this old ColdWarMotors video.
While 1962's were a sales disaster or Chrysler, they still have they place. I still like seeing the restored and shown. Thanks for the video.
It's a Belvedere for sure. My first car was a white 1962 Fury. I totaled it after 7 weeks (long story!). Replaced it with a white 1962 Belvedere. The main difference was that the Fury had three tail lights on either side and the Belvedere had only two. I loved the push button drive. Traded in the Belvedere when the starter engine died at 130 thousand miles. Thanks for the video; it was great watching that car come back to life!
The musical interlude really elevates this episode to a much higher level.
My first car, a `62 Sport Fury convertable some 37 yrs ago at the age of 16,I gave $75 for it and introduced my best friends older sister to the guy. They stayed together for many years.Dave Dunnum was his name. I wiped it out on a frozen bridge, only damage was the front fender. I junked it and joind the Army. Been looking for one ever since.
Watching this old episode really shows the beater sickness that you have descended into, Scott. Hahaha!
Like I've said before I'm behind on watching your videos 😁, this one reminds me of my aunt Ruby's same color and believe it or not this car was new when I was new LoL thanks so much for sharing and"Howdy from Texas 😁"!!
Amazing how much better the 63's looked. But the 62's have a certain charm. Of course you have to be at least half crazy to think so!!
Thank you for saving this car!
That dawg sure knew a thing or three about the power of old Mopar.
I love the IV action you have gone with the gasoline
Never underestimate old mopars !
Still the "Same Ol' Shit" Thanks! I enjoy watching the early CWM, though things have changed, it still remains the same.
Wow, i have the same car in my garage!
It's a shame who the old engine doesn't work
oh well, good job in that car, dude
for awhile ithought I was the only one mental over old cars ankeepin tem runnin, lov what you guys do
You men are hilarious and entertaining!.
+Cliff West Hey; thanks for saying so and for watching this stuff... cheers!
This video showed up in my feed today so I watched it. Must’ve missed it cause I don’t remember this car. The old leaning tower of power sounds pretty good.
I had a 62 Belvedere 4dr. My brother put a 392 hemi and a cast iron torqueflite in it.
That '62 Belvedere looked pretty solid to me - at least compared to the cars here in Pennsylvania. Just because the interior was partially removed along with most of the trim doesn't mean that it can't be restored. It appears fairly rust free, as the rocker panels are still there, along with the rear quarters. Here in Pennsylvania, the rockers & quarters would have rusted into total garbage before the car was 10 years old. Road salt and potholes bigger than lunar craters tend to do bad things to cars. Most of what ypu guys call "junk" would be viable restoration candidates here in Pennsylvania.
+Brad Beall Hi! Thanks for the note. It was definitely restorable, but we have to consider that it would cost more than twice what a nice example was worth to do it. I sold the car to someone who was going to use it to save a rusty 2 door, so it didn't go to waste. I bought it off the crusher truck to save it from getting scrapped. The car was actually pretty decent before someone took it all apart and abandoned the project outside in the rain for 15 years. A shame; it was a decent car before that. Cheers from us here at CWMC!
@@coldwarmotors Hey today i found out about the 60's belvedere and i have a question, coming from eastern europe where every car from 1960s that i know of had the orange indicator lights, where do the 60s american cars have their indicator lights, for example on 1960s belveder'es i see only one pair of red lights and one pair of white lights in the rear, and 2 pairs of white lights in the front. How do turn signals work in this case? Rear tail lights blink like turn signals?
@@justaparps8088, I'll try to answer this. Many cars of this era had dual filament lamps (bulbs) Only one socket were needed the brake and turn signal shared the same high brightness filament. The other filament inside the bulb was used for the "running lamp".
The turn signal switch controlled the brake light circuit in that when indicating say, a left turn, the brake lamp for that side would not go on and leave the filament flashing on and off indicating your intention to turn left.
It worked but I always felt like it was the cheap way out. Today's vehicles have much more advanced lighting, especially at the rear of the car.
Not sure exactly, but somewhere around 1962 or 1963 is when the orange or amber lights became mandatory in the USA (not sure about Canada) This was for the front only, the rear could still be red for turn signals. I was very impressed when I bought my first Saab 96, it was a 1965 model. That car put to shame American cars when it came to rear tail lamp lighting.
What is weird to me was or is, the Chevrolet of the 60's even with the higher end Impala that had three lights per side on the rear, they still didn't allow any lamps on one side to indicate braking when the turn signal was engaged.
Ware did 9yrs go? Thanks for the fun over the years!
..need a '48 Tucker to add to your collection...maybe #1042 wound up somewhere on the prairies of Alberta..😁....
Wow vintage cold war Very cool
I love these first starts and you guys are really funny! Excellent.
I remember “ Stell” 👍😎
god love you all , i love the Will it Run series . i hope you make more .
It’s going on the lot 30 bucks and a pack of smokes! Haha
Good job guys. Do that red station wagon next.

Thanks for checking out these vids... we'll keep at it if people want to see them.
Great video!!!
Awesome! I love old Dodge and Plymouth vehicles!
God bless you and your friends.... Happy New year...
She had to think on it😂😂
Good 'ol slant six engines! They were bullet proof!
the leaning tower of power
If you would please let Tom know he is the only one in the group who looks younger now. Lol
Re watching this in 2024 and everyone looks younger except for Tom!😲 I wonder why is that?
Awesome. Thanks for the ep
Best channel on youtube
225's were great engines if taken care of .
Yes!
This is back when CWM was all vacuum tubed!
great job! I like it- styling a little strange but I'd be happy to own it, bombproof slant six too
weird looking grill, made it interesting.
You guys are something
I had a 1970 Dart with a 225 Slant 6..couldn't kill that motor! :-) Great vid btw!
Watching this march 2020
Video and audio was a 2 out of 10 lol , but the car and content was a 10 !!❤ lmfho
A real throwback, eh? This car was practically new compared to today. I think the new Cold War Motors stickers are much nicer. I guess this was before your neighbor understood what was happening next door and was probably indifferent. Now he has had to buy a motorhome to block his view, and probably to get away once in awhile.
And it runs!!!
@josso1 Welcome; glad you liked it.
@Kolfritz Yeah, the 62 Dodge is one of the only cars uglier than the 62 Plymouth! They've kind of grown on me over the years, though, I guess. I also have a 61 Belvedere, and it's no beauty queen, either! Nevertheless, I'd rather drive this than a Granada!
Thanks for checking it out.
Love it waiting to hear it roar! If Stella likes it will be running soon!
Watching July 2023
My mom wasn’t dumb - she could hot wire a car. I bought a 5 year old Cyclone CHEAP ($350) - without an ignition lock - so I raced to the dealer - installed it - just for mom - haha
Roland D. LeBay. The name of the guy that sold Christine to Arnie Cunningham in the novel. :-)
Nice job!
@ply61 Thanks, more to come soon!
This is great, this car got patina and i´ts a runner...;)
Seen some real fast versions of this car over the eons :-/ Nice rig to rod up so to speak :-)
Nice black stripes ,!!
Love It!
It was cool to hear it and see it moving again. Nice job gentlemen!
this looks like a 62 plymouth fury... i have one in the yard... it has a 318 poly and push button trans .... only thing i cant tell different is the tail lights mine has 3 per side... and the dash... .. mine runs n drives.. needs new pipes and rubber... and cosmetics .. but mostly there. good luck with yours... great cars!!
That is awesome, just needs some body colour wheels and dog dish caps and it would be perfect.
great car..ready for full rust repair and floor blasting and patching and fresh coat of white paint..thats how i found my fifth ave for 250$
Nice stripe job.
Classic CWM!
I saw cars i far worse condition , this one is in pretty good shape.
I thought that those old slant sixes never die. I bet that old automatic transmission filter was half plugged with a very dirty torque converter but congratulations, you got the old hulk to move! I have to say that each of your episodes makes me laugh so hard, I about fall out of my chair! GREAT VIDEO's GUY's!
+heffo and juff Hey, thanks for watching them! We have a lot of fun messing with these old clunks. Everyone seems so serious about their cars all the time... it's supposed to be fun, right? Haha, cheers from me and Stella.
looks like a nice place for a 440!
hi mate is not horrible is a very nice car keep it up man
They were light and with the v8s they were fast! Cops loved them they handled great ln there day.
Wow yeah my sister had a 62 Savoy and the park lever went up and down. You got it started in gear and quickly put it in neutral. Well my sister broke down in my dad's 69 International Travelall and I didn't check to see if the knucklehead put it in park. So I got under the car with a screwdriver to jump the starter and it started and almost ran me over.
Lesson learned, sometimes old people and silly sisters turn the car off without putting them into park. I used to take my sister's 62 out on the back street and put it in first and nail it. I could get it up to 50 than hit second it would chirp the tires too. I didn't like the way they looked back then but they have grown on me and I wouldn't mind having one today.
Great vid. TFS
Hey, thanks for the note and the story; yeah, I have been bitten a couple of times by cars left in gear... I am more careful now that I'm old! Haha I just picked up another great old Mopar beast here, cant wait to show everyone.
Most early alternators had external voltage regulators. Our '68 AMC Ambassador did. Our '62 Rambler still had a generator.
It is evident from this video that my money has been well spent.
Well, that was entertaining! Driving with no brakes was ballsy! I had a 62 Dart, 225, 3 on the tree ( non syncro to boot ) and the only option was a AM radio.. no carpets, no power accessories, no nothing, and of course it was green on green. Ugliest car I've ever owned, but a real trooper. Car got rear ended HARD in 93. Tore the spring shackle out of the frame. And away it went :(
The car I was speaking of was bought brand new in late 62 by my great uncle. He stopped driving it in 88 due to his health. I got it in HS after it had sat for all of those yrs. An oil change and new battery brought the 225 to life even on old gas. I did steering and brake work on it, new tires and minor electrical work to make it roadworthy. It was pretty much rust free at the time. Some chick that was looking the wrong way hit me hard while in a turn in late 93. Despite all of that metal, she hit me in the rt rear quarter hard enough to curl the trunk floor into the frame and tear the spring shackle lose. The cost at the time was much too much for a kid in HS to endure. So a running car went to scrap....It had just over 110k on it.
@midnitesquirldog Yeah! I forgot about that one! I think its even the same colour.
Lucky for ur motor mine is still still Tite n the transmission is still suck to
Wow, someone must have already owned every car in the universe before deciding he needed to have a mint 62 Belvedere.
It just needs to be put back together! thats all!
thats no were near bad condition! look at those floors! there mint! the floors on mine ALL need to be replaced!
It's a runner!
you cant kill them old slant six engines
thats 30 bucks and a pack o smokes right there! :-)
You just cannot kill a 225 slant six.
I had a couple Darts as a young man and lost a water pump on the freeway once in one.
Drove the car until I got to my exit and it died when I slowed down (was detonating badly by that time) .
It burned the paint on the engine , yet fired right up after a new pump and drove it another year before I sold it to another kid .
The old Mopars were great cars .
+Ignignokt Mooninite You can set a clock for about 80k miles to replace a 225 leaner water pump. I lost one between L.A. and 'Vegas in my '68 Valiant - crankin' freezing AC air in the stinkin' desert. Ol' Shadetree got us back on the road in about an hour for about $180 for the Vegas wedding. The car could run on piss and beer of you tuned it right.
👍
✌
Hi! Glad you liked it; I finished this car and sold it to someone who was going to restore it. Thanks for watching!
