My brother finally convinced me to go on this ride....I remember I was so terrified... until I saw this old lady walking to get on the ride-purse and all. So I said if she could then I could too. So maybe the old lady pushed me. It doesn't matter. I've been enjoying this ride for over 20 years now.
I'm usually on Space Mountain early in the morning or with FastPass, so I never really wait in the tunnels at all, but even walking through them with the music playing gets you pretty excited for the ride. Kinda makes you feel like you're talking the long walk to your actual space shuttle.
Do we know who composed/recorded this music? It sounds a lot like the synth intro to Gary Wright's 1976 hit Dream Weaver, although I think Disney originally produced the Space Mountain music before that song came out.

I really wish I was there now. Space Mountain is such an essential part of WDW, and the little touches like the queue music help make it great.

I could loop this for hours.
Ooohhhh!!! EPICNESS! I love the third tunnel music!!!
I'm on my way to disney world right now. I am stoked.
Back when forums used to link to music I had this mp3 around 2004 or 2002ish.
Not sure, but I'm glad we got it for you!
Space mountain in wdw feels kinda creepy but in Disneyland it’s way more lighthearted. I can’t explain why though it’s just a feeling.
I can hear the annoying lady in the back ground...
You, sir or ma'am, rock. Thank you so much for posting this. Very relaxing and helpful for those of who need some aid to concentrate at work :-)

Why did it take 20 years for someone to finally get a good recording of this?
Why did I have this mp3 back in 2004?
Awesome :)
