I’m 66 years old and I remember this dance craze more than I do the song. But oh, I do recall the jerk. There were other dance styles also from the 60s. The mashed potatoes, milking the cow, and the swim. Does anyone recall those?
So much fun to watch. The joy among the audience as they do the dance in unison. The happy feel of the song. The enhanced sound makes it almost seem as if they were singing live, and the Curtis Mayfield Chicago Soul feel of the tune. Gotta love it all.

These guys were so smooth. Three falsettos in one group, too. Awesome.
