I know that everyone wanted Gordon Thompson back as Adam, but his role on Santa Barbara was more important. I did enjoy the late Robin Sachs's performance. Sachs will always be Sarris in Galaxy Quest and Ethan the bad watcher on Buffy the Vampire Slayer to me. ❤🌹🙏🏽🕯
Gordon shouldve played Adam ...his chemistry with Kathleen/Kirby was amazing.....(Only he did really do well with Dana....who probably left Denver pregnant with his kid)
No, Dana couldn’t get pregnant, which is why they had to go with a surrogate. Dana had slept with Adam when they were in high school, when Adam was experimenting with drugs, and didn’t remember their being together. But Dana had an abortion, which left her baron. Then when she finally admitted to Adam their relationship and the abortion, Adam broke it off with her, and they broke up and divorced, and Dana left town. But I totally agree with you, Gordon Thomson is THEE Adam Carrington. When they went to film the mini series, Gordon was on the daytime soap, Santa Barbra, and totally agreed with coming back to doing the reunion mini series. But the show runners at Santa Barbra said, that’s fine if he wants to do the project, but wouldn’t let him temporarily out of his contract to do Dynasty. So Gordon told the Dynasty show runners that they would have to do his scenes and work around his SB schedule. But Aaron Spelling and the Shapiro’s refused to work with him, so they let him go and recasted the Adam Carrington role,and hired Robin Sachs. SOOOOOO WRONG! It wouldn’t have been THAT out of their way to work with Gordon. Gordon was angry that they let him go and sued Spelling Productions. I’m not sure who at the outcome was, other than Gordon (and the rest of the cast) were very upset and disappointed.......

Like on Dallas, Cliff Barnes had a vasectomy but years later we still got Pamela. I'm just saying if Dana was ever going to show up again, I just would bank on her having Carrington offspring as well.
Actually, it wasn't Gordon nor the producers at "Santa Barbara"'s fault. It was Aaron Spelling and his production company. Gordon sued Aaron for breach of contract, and claimed he and the producers of the reunion failed to discuss the schedule properly with the producers at "Santa Barbara", which is what lead to the recast of Adam, unfortunately.
All 4 Carrington children re-faced. Thus the cycle was complete...
