I'm always happy when a reaction to ELO appears.
Me too I love them so much there's one song all over the world is definitely covid-19 anthem song.. hey girl you should do it with you on that
Nice reaction. ELO my favourite band from the 70s.More ELO reactions pls
Me too!!!
The big instrument is a cello. John Lennon called ELO "Son of Beatles". I love ELO, one of my all time favorites. They still sound good more than 40 years later. My favorite songs are too much to count, but I'll name a few "Sweet Talkin' Woman" "Showdown" "Don't Bring Me Down" "Turn To Stone" "Can't Get It Out Of My Head" "Strange Magic" "Evil Woman" "Hold On Tight" and on and on.
You mean 50 years later
@@waynestumbo2408 read it again. More than 40 years later....I guess you can include 50.
@@joeyrobison6629 yep
I didn’t know John Lennon said that serious compliment or what.
@Dahoss well Ole Elo came out in 1971. it was before they were world class
ELO eased us Beatles fans through the 70s .
They had Strange Magic
All Over the World is another great song from this period in their career.
Back when almost all the bands around dipped their toes into the Disco sound! Yup, even KISS did it! LOL!
Sweet talking woman...Don't bring me down ...I can't get it out of my head ....Sweet is the night..
Keep the ELO reactions coming! They are so versatile. If you want to hear a bit more raw, soulful rock from them, check out "Ma-Ma-Ma Belle". What a song!! Another great one is "All Over the World," which is an instant mood-lifter. :)
I lived in northern Canada on a farm in my youth. A farm with 6 boys and a mother that worked her butt off to make sure we were fed and clothed. One day, after getting off the bus from school I heard music. We lived miles from anyone else so I thought it was weird. None of my brothers were home yet the music was getting louder as I approached the house. I got to the side of the house and looked in the window. There was my mother with the stereo cranked up and dancing by herself. "Last train to London was blasting. Not a care in the world she had at that moment...it was just twirls and spins for my mother and her two feet. That was some forty years ago. I remember smiling at my mom even though she didn't see me. I was just happy to see her happy. To this day I will glance at windows and hope to see her dancing....never hapens....so I wish it in my brain. Such a good soul she was.
What a lovely memory
@@yvetteadshead4212 merci beaucoup
You reacted to the ROMANCE of the song. That's what I love about your reaction. You listened to the lyrics. I could see how touched you were when he sang she was the only one around. IMO no, he did not get on the train. He should have gone, but love went on and on. He stayed. Subscribed.
This is ELO during their disco phase. Jeff Lynne is a phenomenal song writer and he surrounds himself with excellent musicians. If you like brass instruments, Chicago is the band, you like flute, it's Jethro Tull. If you like strings, ELO is the band for you. Although I rejected the disco movement back in the 70s, I was still faithful to ELO.
ELO has a ton of great hits through the years Strange Magic,Evil Woman,Shine a little love,Sweet Talkin Woman,Tightrope,Showdown,Ma Ma Ma Belle,Rockaria,Don't bring me down,Turn to stone,Hold on Tight,Roll over Beethoven,Birmingham Blues,Sweet is the night and Rock n Roll is King
Sweet Talkin Woman, great tune!
Dairy of Horace Wimp.....
When your as old as i am omg i first heard them in late 70s and totally love them. Songs you can actually hear the words unlike rap and grime wtf is that shit lol coz this is proper music
Also later Jeff Lynne helps ex Beatles Ringo and George on some of their albums does solo ELO and also Jeff Lynne albums and Joins The greatest Superband of all time The Travelling Wilburys with George Harrison,Roy Orbison,Tom Petty, and Bob Dylan all superstars like Jeff in their own right.
Midnight blue, a masterpiece ¡¡¡ jeff lyne 👌👏👏👏
India the 'big things' are Cello's .. ;) I LOVE ELO .. Glad you do too..
Best wishes from Wales
Discovery is a great album and my uncle got it for my birthday in 1979. Last Train to London is a jam and some ELO fans referred to this album as DISCO-very.
My favorite track from my favorite album of theirs. The album is great from start to finish! This song was right on that border between rock and disco, understandable for when it was released.
Yay!! Probably my favorite ELO song. And I love a lot of their music. Thanks!
That song of ELO is a mix of funk, psichodelic rock and disco and the amazing voice of Jeff Lynne with the lyric make it tremendous simply.
Thx! As usual another groovy reaction! I think it’s a stand-up bass.
Rockaria & Diary of Horace Wimp ....please ! 👍😁✌️🇬🇧
Go Gordon. Rockaria all the way
I love in the beginning of Rockaria when the opera singer corrects herself. lol
@@Quantum_Nebula never noticed that. Will check it out 👍
Do Ya, another winner. ELO in My Top 3 bands of all time!
lets be honest there is NOTHING out there today anywhere as good as this band, such musical creativity.
This song was hot late 70’s/early 80’s. Played all the time at a roller skating rink I use to hang out at. Great memories!
India you are so talented. You get so much from hearing the songs in one sitting. Keep it up.
Please please react to Sweet Talkin women and don't bring me down!
From their Disco - very album.
"Mr. Blue Sky" is also an ELO masterpiece, and every single one of their songs on the Xanadu soundtrack lol, check them out! ;)
It’s impossible to listen to these songs and not dance//move somehow. They’re awesome.
You should try from ELO these songs :"Shine a little Love" , "Xanadu" with olivia Newton john , ""Need her Love" , "Livin' thing", "Turn to stone" , " Confusion"
This bassline is so AMAZING !! Without the bass, this song couldn't to be perfect, are you agree with me ? VIVE LA BASSE :)
Staple part of a disco track the base (along with the snare/cymbal splat)
Yes. I agree.
ELO's best songs that you haven't reacted to so far are Twilight, Do Ya, Rockaria!, Hold On Tight, Don't Bring Me Down, and Alright.
Yah! So glad you're back with ELO more please! Could you please react to Tightrope and/or So Fine.
Favorite ELO song!!
Bass and violins. Can't go wrong with any ELO hit, take your pick, so many songs to choose from. You can play the entire album and not be disappointed.
Kellys bass playing is sublime.
Jeff Lynne often combines dark or even sad lyrics with a very upbeat melody. And vice versa. This melody is somewhere in the middle, not superfast, but not a slow ballad by any means. And the lyrics are downright naughty if you interpret them right! :-) A guy at a party. Had planned to catch the last train back to London (I don't know the city or the timetables, but sometime soon after 2129), but sees a girl "looking like you were the only one around", and is "convinced" by her to stay - "should have been away, but I knew I had to stay". Finally "I really should have gone, but love went on and on"... It really is as simple as fuck. Literally. (And before anyone complains about words: if JL can use it in a song in 1973, I can use it in a comment in 2020.)
Great song and band! If you love great music you'll love them!
I ADORE this song. My favourite band.
Please, please react to ELO's Diary of Horace Wimp. My fav
Hi, I discovered this channel recently, I love it! greetings from Argentina
ELO has a lot of great songs just keep digging into this well
Love how you talked and about the mood of this song! Such a great reaction to one of my favorite ELO songs!! Please keep up your terrific work, India!
I agree, I love Mr. Blue Sky too. But I do like the music to Last Train To London. I like it to dance to this one also.
Always a treat 🎧🎶 to hear ELO
Their music always makes me happy .great reaction.💕
Hi India,You Listen one of the best Band of the World!!!!!!!Old but Great!!!!!sorry for some write mistakes,Frank from Germany, your chanel is cool!!!!!!:-)
Good music for Friday night out driving around...
Talented songwriters have gone forever... music will never be as good as it was back then....
One of THE Best bands in the 🌎
That's the cello! E.L.O. are just incredible. Having an orchestra with them always is fantastic. Jeff Lynne is amazing, he's been there since the beginning - 40 years with a pianist!!
if i had kids id make them grow up with this music.
My favourite reactor watching my favourite band, suddenly life doesn't seem quite so bad anymore🥳 my recommendation for the next ELO song would be roll over Beethoven or rock and roll is king those are one that make you want to get up and dance.
Another great song always said ELO never released a bad song
9:29, the sun was just goin' down, it was one of those nights...
Yep, a long Summer day in Britain can be like that, sun came up at 07:00, sun goes down at 9:30 at night... rare and wonderful.
ELO “10538 Overture” is an early classic and definitely influenced by The Beatles John Lennon was a fan of ELO
10/10 song
i love ELO they have done so many great tracks over the years. love it when you post an reaction on them😁👍
This is one of those songs you CANNOT sit still listening to it… go on check yourself out , knee popping , head jerking , air bass guitar playing… I’m right aren’t I ?
Thank you so much India!!!! Love it!!!
I'm glad you are listening to ELO, they're one of the best bands of all time. I have to recommend this next song of theirs, called 'Don't Walk Away'. Its a real power ballad, and you'll think its great. Here's the link to the song on their official channel czcams.com/video/VChQ4Ru2B3M/video.html
Love ELO. Keep up the great fun videos. :)
I love the walking bass in this song.
Elo .ive followed them since 1975. I still have 8 lps. Pleeease play ELO I NEED HER LOVE. 😊😊😉💖
Those "big ones" are cellos. This is one of my favourite songs of all time. Love it. Take care.
Dammit...I love this and all the ELO fans here!
Quick scan of the comments and, surprisingly, I didn't see ELO's big one: Don't Bring Me Down.
Loving ELO always!
Kia ora! From New Zealand. I'm really enjoying your reactions, I stumbled upon your channel around the last two months. You may as well do ELO "Don't Bring Me Down" and "Hold On Tight" to complete your ELO experience. Those two and Mr Blue Sky are the triple crown for ELO. You keep doing what you do :)
Starting with this album, the violin player and cello players were not used in the studio, opting to use synthesizers instead. They did use them for live performances.
At the same time they quietly stopped calling themselves The Electric Light Orchestra, and simply calling themselves ELO.
Hi loving your vids :) specialy ELO
Love ELO! Try "Shine A Little Love". There are so many great songs!
GREAT tune! nice T-shirt
Diary of Horace wimp is a great one to talk about also all over the world is good ,loving the videos keep up the great work India
Mom loved ELO. Told her I don't like orchestra stuff. Little did I know I love almost all their stuff. Jeff Lynn is a legend. So many greats. Also in super group with Tom petty, Roy orbison,George Harrison - the traveling willburies
I like ELO.
Nice shirt India!! First cassette tape I bought when I was a kid....
Cello sweetie 👍🇬🇧
Love ELO!
I had this album on vinyl, on cassette and on cd.......not a bad song on it
Oh, yeah, you have done Confusion!
Strange Magic and All
Over the World are really good too.
From the album DISCOVERY (DISCO VERY!)
Jeff Lynne rules !
ELO is awesome
Love this song!!
I have a funny story about ELO my friend came up at work and asked if I wanted to go and see a concert cause her friend couldn't go and I thought she said Earth, Wind and Fire so I was like sure so we get ready and go I had my drink on so I didn't pay attention to the sign and she had front row seats so I'm like cool these dudes came out and started playing and she went nuts and I was confused and she keeps looking at me like what so I said oh r they playing before Earth , Wind and Fire she said what about them I said r they playing next she said why omg I still laugh about that then this dude came over and handed us each a back stage pass she wants nuts I wasn't feeling it lol but I went back with her but I kept drinking so she had her fun but it wasn't my thing but boy I learned when someone ask u to go to a concert when your busy pay attention to who it's for as usual u rock🤟❣️
You cant go wrong with ELO
I love this song! I love all of ELO music.
Underrated ELO classic.
WLS in Chicago wore this song out in '79. "Discovery" was a Great album!
Those are cellos. I would like to see you do “Julie don’t live here anymore” by ELO.
They might be a bass, not cellos, since they can stand up and play them. Cellos are larger I believe.
K Salter I don’t know the differences. I thought cellos are played with bows and basses by hand 🤓
@@ghhunter3665 I think you're thinking bass guitar; a double bass is diff
K Salter I’m not sure what they call the big stand up bass they pluck with their fingers like in a bluegrass band. I do know what a bass guitar is though.
My second oldest brother played the cello throughout his childhood and had to carry that thing from class to class and to and from school...
We love ELO. They just seem to sound better and better as the years pass. Classic, timeless pop songs. But you have to listen to the complete albums - start at the beginning and just work through them, that's how we did it in the '70s.
Please react to "The diary of Horace Wimp",it's so funny!
I had actually forgotten that ELO had some disco hits, still so tight.
ELO is Glenn Miller on steroids.
Disco. Great dance music.
Glad you noticed disco, the album it came from was discovery which is disco /very
Xanadu 😍
Of all of their great tunes, why this one? So many more iconic tunes for them.
Livin' thing is an amazing song by ELO. You may want to check that one out India.
The BIG one is called a Cello. Groove song
"Rockaria", "Hold on Tight", "Living thing" or "Evil Woman" would be awesome to hear your reactions to.
I like "Confusion" which is also from their "Discovery" album. Sounds great with headphones or in a car with good speakers.
You should do Fire On High by ELO. It will blow your mind
