The reason why i'm so in love with Bonnie is because she clearly is the melody machine behind some of Katys biggest hits (you can ALWAYS recognize a Bonnie song when sung by Katy -> Teenage Dream, Last Friday Night, Birthday etc) , her melodies are some of the best out there and it reflects in her own songwriting even though many people give her hate while she clearly is BEYOND talented.
She doesn't write melodies, she's even said herself that she's a lyricist. Max Martin writes the melodies for all of the famous artists' popular songs.
I'm not talking about this particular song, I'm talking about all the famous songs she's co-written. They all are involved with Max Martin along with almost all of Taylor Swift's new songs, Britney Spears hits, ALL of Katy Perry's hits (not even just the few that Bonnie co-wrote the lyrics for), all of Ke$ha's hits, and all of most of the super famous artists you hear on the radio today. Plus the song, "Bombastic" is still co-written with like 5 people which means that she probably just did the lyrics. Their style together has fused into one so both people will share similar sound qualities and song styles. The hardest part for Bonnie is making a name for herself after living in Katy's shadow for so long and because they are intertwined she will be forever criticized by people for sounding like Katy Perry. I imagine if Bonnie wrote/gave this song to Katy Perry it would have about 30 million hits right now. Not because of the quality or the theme of the song but because her name is branded on it. Please show Bonnie and other music artists some love and appreciation. It's okay if you don't like their music, but don't judge someone who is trying to achieve their dreams. At least she is out in the world doing something while the rest of us are sitting on our asses watching youtube videos.

Sure, this isn't a moving ballad, but the vocal talent is still there. Finally, I'm not sure what bothers you about this so-called "shameless exploitation of her gender." Is it the video? Seems like a pretty obvious parody of older workout videos. Have you seen those things? They're pretty sexual by nature, so I find no fault here. Or maybe it's her clothing?
