Happy Samhain! I loved when you caught the leaf to make a wish. My granny, whose mother was from Ireland, used to tell me the same, and as a child, I would spend many an autumn day trying to catch leaves. Although she never claimed to be a witch, I felt she was- there was something very magical about her. She taught me a lot of Appalachian beliefs and magic.

This was the most beautiful celebration! Since losing so many friends and family members over the last two years, I have wondered how to have a meaningful celebration of their lives. As I remember the great times we shared I will be sure to wear my mom and dad’s wedding rings and an anklet that my brother gave me. The forest that you share is so beautiful and the offerings to wildlife are so important. Thank you for sharing so many lovely ideas and a ritual for letting go to make room for new purpose! Catching the leaf 🍁 is so magical ! When I was a child I’d spend hours catching leaves and examine their beauty! The colors and veins running through were amazing to me ! Still r to this day ! Connection to nature is key to all ! Blessed be ! 🍁🍁🍁🍁

Your videos are so pretty and relaxing to watch! Here in Appalachia, I see our Decoration Day custom originating from the old Celtic tradition. We have family cemeteries and once a year descendants will gather to clean and maintain the graves, place flowers, hold a church service, talk about family genealogy, and then have a potluck dinner with some traditional music and singing.
My daughter and I giggled when you showed us the little squirrel 🐿 enjoying your offerings. So cute! I’m 38yrs old and STILL haven’t carved a pumpkin in my life! I buy them to decorate with but haven’t ever carved them...and I don’t know why. 🤷🏼♀️😂 Perhaps this is the year! 🦇🍁🐿🍂🎃🧙🏻♀️🕯⚰️🔮 Happy Samhain to you!
I love this!! I have a particular old tree that I feel drawn to, on the path that I hike. He's an old mighty red oak, and you can feel his energy all around! He's the guardian of that sacred land, I believe, as it has ancient Native American roots. I plan on asking him for permission to take some of his leaves next time I go! I have a lot of things that I need to let go of that no longer serve me. Thank you for this.

My favorite was the cute little pumpkin fairy houses. My mom loves fairies and she asked me today how she should carve her little pumpkins I am going to show her this. Great idea. That bread also looks amazing.

Graveyards are my absolute favorite place to be. Over anything else...
Just for an additional information: black does not really block negative engergy - it takes all the energy that is around in. That´s why wearing it on occasions of grief like a funeral, is not a very beneficial thing. White clothes on the other hand reflect the energy of others back. So if you want to commune with the spirits and nature all around on Samhain, black might be a great colour to wear. All the other colours are in between forms of reflection and taking things in.

I got behind watching your videos because we rescued a litter of 4 four week old kittens and have been quite busy! They are now almost 8 weeks and Charlie watched this whole video with me! I think he loves your voice and looking at the candle flames! The other 3 are Theodore, Henry & Henrietta.

I made a protection Jack o Lantern. Where I carved protective sigils and a pentacle on the sides and back of the pumpkin with a face at the front charged with protective herbs and intention and left lit by the front door outside.
