It is not true. My husband had heart surgery. We are American citizen. Before the surgery doctors & assistants & the hospital admins had a meeting with patient that is my husband, myself & our son. They even let us know the procedure. Then we signed the papers for the surgery. The reason people will sue the doctor & the hospital. That is they take precautions. That is the hospitals policy. Unless patients do not have anybody with them
