I can only agree with you. The Unison Research - Unico Primo, is a very special amp, and Iw got the Wharfedale 225 Diamonds and the Linton 85th Heritages, and both plays way over their price tag, in my own very humble opinion. Sehr interessante Combo. Vieleicht wäre es mal möglich beim Vergleich mit dem Omnia den Unison Primo als Endstufe und den Omnia als Streamer / Vorverstärker zu nutzen. Weitete Frage - warum die 4.2. umd nicht die 4.4.? Findest du den Raum zu klein dafür? Vielen Dank!
I did exactly that. The Omnia as my CDP/streamer and DAC to the Primo with its wonderful pre-amp and amp sections. Sounds amazing BUT I guess it would sound even better if I could turn off the pre amp section inside the Omnia. Yes, the 4.3 and 4.4 are to big for my taste in our living room (30qm). The 4.2 is already huge in terms of looks and sound output
I was thinking of that comparison too. The Carina is much smaller so is the max volume but I don’t listen at high volumes anyway. The Carina sounds more correct/linear throughout its frequency range. The Evo sounds bigger due to its bass quantity. Both sound quite lively but never to much on top. The midrange is the strength of both! The Evo projects the singer closer to the listener.

Do they have a real wood veneer ore is it a very, very well made vinyl foil? I dont find amything about it. Real wood in this price range would be impossible I think. Difficult to say because vinyl foils are Göttingen better and better these days

I am glad you got this ,my favourite speaker !! I have heard the mids are a well pronounced on the EVO 4.2

Say it too early it is too good for its price, The new Wharfedale Aura are now speakers for much higher price.
