But no... we're stuck in TN with no way out because we can't even afford rent right now. 😒 $20/hr full-time is absolutely not a liveable wage even in boring old Tennessee. We can't better our lives if we don't get out though so idk. Also, "taking a pay cut to do something more comfortable" is a luxury most people aren't lucky enough to experience. I'm happy for people who experience it but to me it's a slap in the face to say "normalize it" like it's that easy. Tell a machinist, mechanic, welder, fast food worker, etc. to "take time for you" or "do what you love and make yourself more comfortable" is like telling them "you dont get to eat this week and no rent!" F that, honestly. Let's just normalize livable wages and stop taking so much out of people's checks.
I just graduated with a degree many people deem useless (marine biology) because I know I’ll never make more than like 70k a year in my life. But I don’t think I’d trade it for anything else. I doubted myself a lot in school because people would tell me all the time they dreamed of that as a kid but then found out how much money people in my field make. But I got my first job in the field last year and I couldn’t be more sure of my choice now. I am so happy at my job, something I don’t think most people can say. And money definitely cannot replace all of the amazing experiences I’ve had and are to come.
My favorite @hautemesstom quote was when they talked about if they were the first person to collaborate with Pat McGrath. They said “I promise I’ll be a nightmare to work with.” I felt that in my bones. LOL. Love them!!!

I think it would be really helpful and I would greatly value your opinion on the subject! There are SO MANY great formulas at the drugstore and there are also SO MANY CZcamsrs who discuss drugstore products in depth. Kelly Gooch talks a lot about drugstore products that are just as good or better than a lot of Sephora brands. The *aesthetics* of luxury products are half if not more than half of the reason I buy them 😂😂 and I’m assuming Kackie feels the same
Your videos are also very consumer-focused too. I love how receptive and open to feedback you seem to be. Yes yes the makeup focused on this channel is on the higher end of clean beauty and low-mid luxury brands, but it shows how reflective and ethically conscious you try to be when recommending or reviewing things. I have always loved how nuanced your descriptions are when comparing similar products. It’s so helpful as someone who does not live anywhere close to a Sephora or an Ulta and can’t swatch things in person to have that level of detail in your content. It cuts through a lot of my impulsivity and has allows me to have a collection of things I really love and really use!

my grandparents are those secret rich people, you wouldn’t think they were well off, but they pay off our (grandkids) college tuitions fully. i go to a private school too so it’s disgustingly expensive. my grandma randomly told me i didn’t have to worry about student loans and i was like girl you mean fraud??? but nah they’ve had bank accounts for us since we were born. bless their little hearts

I fee like you just spoke directly to me. I’ve worked in the hospital for 12 years. I had a baby 7 months ago. And I don’t feel like I can do 12 hour shifts or 7 on 7 off schedules anymore. Some people can and more power to them but I feel like I’ve been losing my mind since I went back after maternity leave. I made the choice to leave the hospital and go to primary care. I’ll make less money but I’ll work 8-5. I can drop and pick my baby up from daycare I can be with him on holidays and weekends. The value in that is so much more than my hourly rate. Hopefully with time and experience I’ll earn more in the future it for now I’m all about the mental health of my family

I always thought I grew up middle class, but everyone in my family got scholarships as well as loans. I also worked from the time I was 14. My kids have loans too and my eldest’s loans for nursing masters will be over $2000 a month. I don’t know how kids are supposed to survive these days. Both will be nurses and will have to move home to pay off loans and save for a house.

I think you are so right about the Burnt Zellige from YSL. It really is pretty but doesn't last. I found that Mickey from RMS gives me a similar color to this zellige and gives more of what i want to feel for pigment and staying power for being hydrating but also kind of a stain? LOL Anyway. While I hear ya on the shiny powder exposing pores, the lack of pigment on the blush is so, so flattering on you especially with the eye look. I know you prefer heavier blush but just wanted to comment that the lighter blush touch, IMO, is a much more sophisticated look on ya!

Please please do a review on sigma makeup. They had some new things that came out this year: the setting loose powder, the powder blushes, the powder bronzer. Some older ones like the stick eyeshadow bases and of course their newer eyeshadow palettes. I really want to know if their items are good
Sigma makeup is interesting to me because I mostly only see content creators (also those who get it in pr) use it. The brushes are good but nothing exciting to me. I do know a handful of people who love their eyeshadow formula, but I've never been intrigued enough to try them.

Product comparison question: is there a kaliedos blush that is a dupe for the coral shade of Dior? I was looking and if you compare the pic on Sephora it looks close to the salmon one, but in pics from ppl who have purchased it’s closer to their other one that’s thats more of a peachy/coral colour.
Could the Chantecaille blush be used as a luminizer or blush topper instead of using it as a typical blush? I guess it's still outrageous to pay that much for a luminizer or blush topper. I'm just trying to figure out a way to repurpose it.
yeah i mean, the RMS is not dewy or super hydrating if I'm recalling correctly. It's really pretty but it's high coverage and meant to almost be mixed with other things to achieve dewiness.
@@kackie They are often compared but it sounds like sublimage would work less well for oily skin. I mix the un-cover-up with the Auric glow lust and it’s beautiful 👌🏾
Do you feel like that Chanel foundation works just as well without the blur stuff you added in? Or is it really the combo? I had my eye on the concealer version of that foundation but considering both!
I have both and in my opinion the Chanel Sublimage foundation looks best on its own, if possible. However if you have to powder (in my case, if it was really hot or I expected to wear it a while) the Chantecaille powder is okay. Not my favorite powder for the reasons Khaki described.

While I hear ya on the shiny powder exposing pores, the lack of pigment on the blush is so, so flattering on you especially with the eye look. I know you prefer heavier blush but just wanted to comment that the lighter blush touch, IMO, is a much more sophisticated look on ya!

Please please do a review on sigma makeup. They had some new things that came out this year: the setting loose powder, the powder blushes, the powder bronzer. Some older ones like the stick eyeshadow bases and of course their newer eyeshadow palettes. I really want to know if their items are good
Sigma makeup is interesting to me because I mostly only see content creators (also those who get it in pr) use it. The brushes are good but nothing exciting to me. I do know a handful of people who love their eyeshadow formula, but I've never been intrigued enough to try them.

I find the revlon to be like 5% more emollient than the YSL. I have both and love both.

Do you know how the sublimage foundation compares to the rms beauty un-cover-up cream foundation?
yeah i mean, the RMS is not dewy or super hydrating if I'm recalling correctly. It's really pretty but it's high coverage and meant to almost be mixed with other things to achieve dewiness.
@@kackie They are often compared but it sounds like sublimage would work less well for oily skin. I mix the un-cover-up with the Auric glow lust and it’s beautiful 👌🏾

I had my eye on the concealer version of that foundation but considering both!
I have both and in my opinion the Chanel Sublimage foundation looks best on its own, if possible. However if you have to powder (in my case, if it was really hot or I expected to wear it a while) the Chantecaille powder is okay. Not my favorite powder for the reasons Khaki described.
