- Former East Midland Trains HST 125 unit No. 43074 arrives (dead) at the station sidings at Doncaster on 28th November 2011 behind 225 Power Unit No. 91117.
Both units are then shunted to make an exit path for the HST 125 NMT already in the same sidings. Filmed whjle 'burning up' miles on a North East Railrover.
@kenbrowne1947 - Cheers for your comment Ken.
There is more of these 08 shunters about than I really thought, and it is great to see these still quite active in certain locations. Cheers - Allan.
Great catch Allan! I like the comparison of three generations of modern traction running together as well. Great to see these 08 shunters still in action after all these years. They were the first diesels I saw except for 10000 and 10001 the Ex LMS main line locos, so a bit special. Thanks for sharing this clip. Ken
Great video. You never know, the scrapped 91s may become shunters!
going to miss them old girls,
Yes they will be a miss on the ECML Paul. I always liked to travel on them. Thanks for watching. Cheers - Allan..
Nice video of this HST Power Car Allan. Glad I got the footage of it while it was in service like that
Awesome archive!!!
Great video!!! This is the reason i love the railways! I'd love to catch something like that!!
@CoachAlex1996 - Thanks for your comment Alex.
Yes, it always pays to get the shots of trains, locos, Railway buildings, etc. as they need recording for when they do disappear. I learned that after 80s when my camera gathered too much dust and I missed loads.
Great video Allan, nice to see a 91 used for shunting :P
A gronk pulling the hst and 91 they can pull some weight them class 08 shunters I was surprised in the 80s what I've seen them move!!!😎
Thanks for watching Justin. Yes they have some pulling power. Cheers - Allan.
@TheTrainBoy2012 - Thanks Luke for your comment.....glad u like it!
@m0dernrailways - Thanks Jason for commenting.
Apparently the 91 brought it somewhere from the North so I presume it must have been Neville Hill Depot in Leeds.
Too right Allan. I haven't seen one operational for at least 20 years!
great catch
@Eastcoast43208 - Thanks for commenting,
It all happened so quickly.
@ulibaer57 - Many thanks for your comment.
Thanks very much Robert....my camera is a Panasonic HD SD90 Camcorder.
@mixmam1 - Thanks for comment.
@bkendlerA4 - Thanks for comment Barry
@GRANDCENTRAL43067 - Yes agree Caleb.
Like watching a dear friend led to the Gallows.
Nice video some rare shots there a 91 being used to move the power car the 08 then moving the power car .
Thank you. Yes it was an interesting day at Doncaster that day. Good watching the shunting movements of these.
Cheers - Allan.
@ay76 - Thank you very much.
Cool seeing some old Virgin Trains stock near the back
Thanks for watching. Allan.
Can I just say what a waste of rolling stock! Those Virgin coaches (Red, white and black) are MK3 passenger coaches which could still be used on a service hauled by the class 43...
nice catch, you're lucky the leeds 225 stayed stationary for so long, otherwise you might have had a problem!
Exellent Video ,Super Loco :-)
Nice catch :-)
sadly it has a MTU now and is in EC Grey under the number 43274
@pauleyd80 - I heard it was going to Brush as well.
I like those trains. But one question: What type of couple have the HST? Scharfemberg or buffers with chains?
Iskander López Barreno I was wondering about this too.
Iskander López Barreno some HSTs have buffers since it was a substitute of a DVT of early Intercity 225s.
@patrick24121991 - Thanks Craig.....I was practically asleep on the platform as it was so quiet, then this stirred the local Veg.
HST FOREVER
Super trains. Thanks for watching.
Regards - Allan. :-)
Wonder what they're going to do with it. Rumour is rife it'll end up at Brush for MTU conversion, so it's interesting it's gone into Wabtec.
I wondered how they were going to free the 91. Barry
@stokesy1110 - Thanks for info.
Odd how a 91 pulled the HST there, I thought a class 66 would of done it
A Class 66 wouldn't have the right coupling.
Yes it does. The hst is using the drawbar type connection
Network rail on crack.
