    "What did you need those boots for?"
    "Because you didn't give me a name so I need some kind of distinctive trait."
    I love the weirdness of fairy tales, however (I also love the fact he was an ogre but needed to become a lion to scare people).

      @piluex2 Před 6 lety

      Well, maybe ogres were common enough in the world of the story to not be that big of a deal.

      As I was told, "ogre" was a slur refering to Hungarians not a mythical giant. In german both words sound much more alike. But I have no reference to prove it.

    How I do adore this video; allow me to list the reasons why:
    •Puss in Boots is a freaking awesome faerie tale - it's weirdness appeals to all of me.
    •That hair!
    •That amazing shirt!
    •Christopher Walken.
    •At least three 'seems legit's.
    •Accents.
    •Talking cats are awesome.
    •The moral of the story; always trust your cat and never question what it does all day.

    *apoints cat as spymaster
    *cat gives gifts to monarch, inproving opinion of fabricated title.
    *Cat introduces his master as fabricated title.
    *Cat renames real land as fabricated one-
    *Cat assinates current owner, so his fabricated title inherits.
    *Miller's son becomes a Count.
    *King adds more territory to his kingdom, and so supports fabricated title.
    That's not living a lie- that's just medieval politics. :)

    An eloquent feline bedecked in snappy footwear bearing a gift of game from a man I have never heard of from a land that appears on no map. Seems legit!

  • @StubbornProgrammer
    @StubbornProgrammer Před 8 lety +17

    I get the talking, intelligent cat because hey, fairy tale... but where did the miller's son find boots in the right size for a cat?
    He didn't bring the cat to get fitted, he just bought them off a shelf somewhere! Who is this mysterious cobbler making cat-sized boots?
    I submit that talking, intelligent, boot wearing cats were in fact common! This explains not only per-existence of the boots, but also why nobody is surprised to meet a talking, intelligent boot wearing cat.
    It's amazing what you can come up with when you recklessly extrapolate from fairy tales. ^_^

    • @MonarchsFactory
      @MonarchsFactory  Před 8 lety +9

      Personally, I like to think that either the boots were human sized and the cat had great difficulty walking anywhere OR that the miller's son had to have a very strange conversation with a cobbler, because both of those options are things I would find hilarious.
      "You want shoes..." "Yes." "For a cat." "That's right." "A house cat." "Mhmm! And we're working on a budget, so the less leather you use, the better." "Yeah, somehow I don't think I'm gonna need all that much."

    • @StubbornProgrammer
      @StubbornProgrammer Před 8 lety +7

      MonarchsFactory
      I suppose in that case the real question is - did he end up as the official cobbler to the Maquis to "keep him quiet about the Maquis' history", or did a certain cat threaten to turn him into soup?

    • @piluex2
      @piluex2 Před 6 lety +1

    This sounds like some kind of DnD shenanigans. A high Charisma cat Rogue tricks the king into believing his master was a lord, seduces the princess by proxy, intimidates peasants into perpetuating the lie, and defeats a shapeshifting ogre and takes his castle and lands and servants.
    That cat better have gotten mad EXP for that adventure.
