    In the 1980's they used to sell tire turners in South Africa and it was popular with farmers. Turned tires have lots of uses such as raised planters and for making kennels for dogs or roosting places for chickens or toys for kids playgrounds. When a tire is turned out, it does not collect rainwater which means mosquitoes will not breed there.

  • @danbergthold3481
    @danbergthold3481 Před 2 lety

    Since tires are so easy to turn inside out, perhaps tire manufacturers will soon begin producing dual-tread tires - tires with tread on the inside of the tire and ALSO on the outside where tread has traditionally been installed.
    Another thought on this topic:
    Tire makers could create "convertible tires" with summer tread on the exterior and winter tread on the interior (or vice versa.)
    I suspect that studded tires will only work effectively in tubeless applications.

    I'm assuming that there must be either a machine, or some method of doing it fairly easily since I have seen at least a dozen tractor tires done like that. I can't imagine Ol' Bill the Farmer using muscle to flip a tractor tire inside-out just for something as mundane as a planter.

    Try getting a slightly bigger tire, cut off the sidewalls and beads, let the air out of the smaller tire and put the tread on the original tire and refill tire with air. Maybe put rubber cement in between the two tires. Then do massive burnouts and see how long the outside tire lasts…

    We used to make planters out of old tires, which more or less consisted of cutting out one of the beads, turning the tire inside out and cutting a pattern into the sidewall... even with cutting that bead out it's a pain to turn a tire inside out, I can only imagine how difficult it m.j ust be to do it with a brand new fully intact tire. I mount and balance all my tires by hand with a tire hammer and a crowbar (and a bubble balance machine) and I still dont think I'd take a challenge of doing what yall did in this video. That's way too tough lol. And yeah I can imagine it would be pretty badly worn after only a couple hundred miles if that.

    Idea for a video: running a car with only 1 piston ring in each piston or try to start a car with no piston rings

      One piston ring should work, but without piston rings you dont get compression, so it wont even start.

      @@DarkestVampire92 yeah thats kinda what i thought, zero compression... unless he puts a tighter piston maybe

      Or replace piston rings with o-rings and see how long it runs before they burn

    Potential idea? 4 pneumatic air drills locked onto each wheel hub providing power. Would need to be a very light car. A Large air tank in the back would power the drills.
