i think all three of Moona original song really express how an entertainer felt throughout their career , Ai No Chiisana Uta is what a new and small entertainer felt, the gratitude that they have an audience that support them albeit small. Hightide is what they feel when they start to grow their fanbase, they feel powerful invincible and strong when they start to rise to the peak of their career. And this song Perisai Jitu is what they feel when they start to felt the pressure from their huge audience/fan. The weight of expectation, the stress of always have to show happy face when they face the fan. And the loneliness they felt.
Man this is some wild theory or utter coincidence, but I'm all for it.

This is not only a song for the entertainers who always keep on their "idol" appearances.
This also applies to some workers/employees who keep their cool checked even after being extorted/bullied by their employers/bosses/coworkers, the bullied children who couldn't speak their feelings because they are afraid having no friend, exhausted mom/dad after long day work and having a lot of family problems.

Judging from short-haired Moona's appearance on one of the screens, this seems to be a continuation of her story from High Tide. She has a running career now, but she doesn't seem to be satisfied at all, and is slowly breaking from the inside.
I looked up the songwriter's names, and apparently they're seasoned writers who have worked with a lot of big names in Indonesia's music industry. Great job Moona and co, what a great song!

Note that the last line of the chorus is translated as "how long *should* I keep it" rather than "how long *can* I keep it". I'm reassured that Moona is confident she can "drop the mask" from time to time and we as fans will still be there to listen -- after all this song itself is an act of "dropping the mask". That's pretty meta.
It is such a beautiful song. I wish there was something special I could say back to Moona.

i don’t think anything is stopping them from expressing their sadness to us if they want to. i think most people would just rather not put that sort of thing out there for random people on the internet to speculate or give unsolicited advice about. it all depends on how comfortable you are.

I can't stop listening to this song. It's so dang CATCHY. And it sounds like living a REAL life with melancholy and deep reflection and nostalgia that opens up to wonderful times of happiness and dance and EXPRESSION.
It feels like being caught in a spell of thinkingtoomanythoughts and relivingpastmistakes and deciding enough is enough: the brain needs to shut up. Then running out and dancing or singing or whatever it takes, flinging all the bad thoughts and emotions out over and over until only the treasured things are left.
And finally, holding those treasured things tightly, letting them bloom and energize the next dance and the next moment in life.
At least, that's how it makes me feel. I haven't watched the video or read the translations yet, I've just been playing it on repeat while I do my hobbies. Wanted to get down my impression before actually watching; sorry if I'm either totally obvious or totally wrong.
Edit: Ah, I picked up on the melancholy, but the happiness was only a face. She doesn't reach the point of being truly happy with herself just yet, at least not in the song. I do note that her singing kicks up in emotion and expression, especially in the last chorus. Putting the issues we have in life into words is often the first step we can take to confronting them; perhaps through this song, she has already begun the process.
That is, if she is going through these feelings and doubts. It's possible that it's just a show to sing a good song, which is completely fine; but I don't believe one could create and sing such a song so well without identifying with the pain it is bringing up.
