Not every Jew converted to Christianity and when Mohammed came along and founded Islam many Jews and Christians converted. Both religions were founded upon the foundation of Judaism.
What set apart the religions were the later details: Christians believe Jesus was the messiah, Islam believed he was a prophet and that Mohammed spoke to God, etc.
