Hi Matt, thanks for this video. I think it's important that people, blokes especially, have the mental health conversation. I was a copper in Victoria for 20 years. My time was spent in GDs and Highway Patrol. I was also in the Army for 20 years prior to that. My own experiences resulted in me being diagnosed with PTSD and I was recently ill health retired. People close to me knew there was 'something wrong' with me for about three years before I finally did something about it. It took the threat of my wife of 35 years leaving me for me to pluck up the courage to get help. Getting help was one the hardest but best things I have done. Yes it was hard to ask for help, hard to admit I was crook, hard to deal with the stigma and the shame, but the bottom line is, it saved my life. Anyway, I just want to say, it really is okay to ask for help and don't ignore the signs. Thanks again Matt and thank you for your service. All the best, Brian.

As someone who has suffered depression, this was genuinely heartfelt. And I'm totally with you, gardening is one of my coping mechanisms. Just a thought Matt, why not change your mind and overseed with a cool season grass so you can keep yourself occupied in winter?

Very interesting video. I have a general anxiety disorder and I find being in the garden (whether it be planting, mowing or building something like a deck) helps me tremendously.
I also meditate as much as possible and find when I miss a day, I feel... off. Like I missed a day at the gym.
Alot people look after their own physical bodies by working out etc; but not many people spend a single second and exercise their own mind.
It's such an abstract thought. The stigma attached to mindfulness ihas always been the equivalent of reading tea leaves or something.
So I think It's great we're finally (at the very least) having a conversation about it frequently.

Matt - firstly thanks for expressing your views and some personal insights. As you say, life is not perfect and we all experience stress at varying levels. Don’t sweat the delay in vids mate, I’m sure your subscribers will always understand when life and yourself takes priority over CZcams! I’ve learned so much from your channel and now get compliments from neighbours about our verge lawn. In line with your words, I wish you well too mate, and I think you’ve developed a great channel. Thanks for your efforts and commitment to informing us on all things lawn porn! Cheers.

Hi Matt, I just watched this video now, bit late I know , but you know what they say 😉
Good on you to talk about this, I like you are fine but others around us are not and need help and with you in your work you will see far more of this than the average bloke!
I’ve heard that grounding or “earthing” is a real thing when you can get out in your yard, more so in bear feet 🦶 for a while and it actually seems to help ya well-being…..couple that with walking behind a cylinder mower and its a perfect 🤩 time !
Take care and looking forward to seeing you behind your MM….Luke’s got mine in production and will be sending through some “baby scans”/ progress snaps in January ☺️ - Cheers for now and keep doing what you are doing 👍

Great video, mate. It's never an easy discussion point, but everyone should feel safe discussing their mental health and asking for help if they need it. I'm positive that you're videos, and your presence are helping more people than you could ever know. Keep up the great work. 👍

Great things from the the lowest moment that a motivated and passionate person has. I started my own business about 13 months ago when I lost my job during the pandemic. I now help a half a dozen small businesses to make more for themselves and their families. From someone who has been at his low, I can appreciate the message of your video mate 👍🏻 keep up the great work - I’m going to head to your website to buy some product for my 3 month old tif tuf Bermuda!
