Tack tip: Easily Saddle Your Horse, Chambers Ranch Horsemanship

Often you wonder why we do what we do. We encourage you to ask the why! Remember this is how we all learn. We don't want to do something just because some said to do it. We want to do it because it makes sense and we see the results.
In this video Dan discusses the reasons why he saddles from the right side of the horse.
1. We don't have to throw all the cinches over the horse. So we have less equipment that has to get over the horse.
2. We start a lot of colts. So when a colt is having their first saddling we want it to be smooth, fast, and successful. Eliminating extra steps, and the possibility the saddle might fall off during saddling if they move.

I always saddle on the right side for the same reason you speak of. It only makes sense to keep things as easy as possible.
