yoongi has anxiety disorder depression,ocd and on top of all that pain reliever for the pain after the accident. Seeing how he’s in a lot of pain I’m not surprised he was talking high dosages of pills.

Well, in the behind, he really said, “I don’t how fans will think of me taking pills in my late 10s and early 20s”. I don’t think that meant simple anti pain medicine. And if we think about his best friend taking drugs, I don’t think he would have just sat by like that. I just think they both were going down that route but Yoongi stopped and his friend lost it.

all the lyrics and visuals are based on his true traumatic past experiences. (including the s*icide attempts and bike accident). the accident actually happened before bts’ debut (over 10 years ago) but he didn’t get surgery for his shoulder injury until 2020. he also didn’t tell bts for a couple of years because he didn’t want to worry them so he just told them that he fell down the stairs and that’s where his shoulder injury came from.😔
he initually didnt tell the company because of that fear but when he told them back then (he didnt wait for a few years, only the members didnt know until years later because he told them he fell down the stairs and thats where his shouder injury is from. he didnt wanna worry them) they were like you should have told us and yoongi said they promised to help him pay for his education(it was very important for him), help him even though the company was in a tight place with not much money and that no he isnt gonna lose his place and not debut. he said all this in the youtube docu series or some other content i dont remember where exactly but i clearly remember him saying that.

The MV Amygdala is heartbreaking, for those ARMY who know his story. The reality is that you cannot erase your trauma as much as you want to. pacemaker. his mom's heart has a pacemaker when she had an abnormal/dangerous heartbeat. his father's liver cancer and his accident happening as well is enough to cause lasting trauma and anxiety for anyone. this MV expresses all of the emotions yoongi's going through all of that and how hard it is to go analyze but how necessary it is in order to live with. otherwise you scar yourself and thats another way you live with it. kts a scar you create. this is a great reaction guys, cant wait to watch your album reaction

Nah 11:37 I think that's exactly what he meant ..1993 the same month he was born his mother had to do heart surgery. They say pregnancy can cause alot of strain on a woman's heart especially if she had previous heart problems .
Yes it is. He was probably reminded that often. Many family members including parents told him he would ruin the family name if he got involved in rap and BTS. They just cut him off. He left home very young. That is why he bowed and cried on stage when he saw his parents showed up at a concert.
Here’s an interesting fact: The amygdala is a tiny structure in our brains that registers emotions, particularly fear and anxiety. Goes to show how well thought out every detail is from the video, lyrics, title, and visuals. It’s absolutely powerful, beautiful and spectacular. I’m so proud of how far yoongi has come and how much he’s grown as a person and as an artist.

The three of him in the video represent Fight/Flight/Freeze when you’re in danger. The fight part of him turned into AgustD (cause he can’t swear or say certain things as an idol so to make music that he could show his anger in he created AgustD to fight all the hate) Flight is Suga who became the idol and the one of him sitting there watching it happen while snacking on almonds is Yoongi, the real him who didn’t know how to cope with all the trauma.
On his interview with IU he talks a lot about how angry he was during their beginning years about his past trauma and all the hate and disrespect they received for no reason. He said the best way to describe their early years is hell because they got dragged and attacked for no reason. He said he wanted to respond to that hate but Suga as an idol is not allowed to say certain things cause it could give BTS backlash and that’s why he drops his solo work as AgustD so he can be free of the idol tag.
it's so sad to know, that he had to deal with the pain of the accident since before his debut until finally having the surgery in 2020, not just the accident, he's been through a lot and being able to talk about these things must be so hard, i love him too much💕

It was really hard to watch this mv i was crying hard the whole video especially after knowing that this is his story yoongi went through a lot he's so strong I'm happy he found peace now and recovered from his trauma maybe not fully but his in the process, this is how agustd was born from yoongi's pain trauma he gave himself that scar because he didn't face his pain he was running away from it which made it harder for him he finally released he needs to confront and free his self that's why he run to the door to free his shadow whose stuck in the memories the bad ones so instead of killing his shadow like in daechwita and haegeum he wants to save it here to find peace to heal
This music video is very hard for me to watch. And this song is so personal to him but also very personal to me. Before I found Bts, I was going through so much shxt and a lot of trauma that I wish I could forget but it's always going to be a part of me. Its all about suga's anxiety, depression, car accident, trauma from the past. suga got his car accident when he was a trainee suga work many part time jobs and he works as delivery boy and accidently hit by a car, suga did'nt said to agency (bighit) about his accident. After bangpd knows about it and that moment where suga struggles to pay his school fee, bangpd pay suga's school fee to help him.
The reason why he work as part time job, it because he want to help bighit it because bighit is small and poor company back then, and suga want to pay his school fee.
About the video that yoongi who’s going through anxiety, depression, the trauma I thought, his mom and dad of him getting to him an accident with his shoulder and he had surgery on it. See that’s what I thought too but then I also thought it could have been for his mental health/depression since it was pretty bad but I guess it was probably shoulder pain huh? Either way it’s unfortunate he had to take them at all I know that must have been hard to continuously do without getting addicted and also going through so much 😕
The amygdala is the part of the brain that processes emotions. These emotions are then linked to things like our memories, learning, and senses. Pretty clever with his lyrics and song title. Also, when you are feeling depressed and wanting to it to end, starting to take medication can be a pretty dangerous time because the meds will start to work and give you energy and motivation, but at the same time you aren't at your therapeutic level with your meds yet so that little bit of motivation can lead to ending it. Same thing with coming off the meds. Increase in negative emotions which leads to those thoughts, and because you are weaning off your meds you still have some of that energy and motivation to succumb to those thoughts and ideations.
I should really wait to comment until the end of the video to avoid all these edits. I have ADHD and so the part of my brain that controls things like impulses, focus (which is def linked to learning), and hyperactivity is running "slower" than those without ADHD. Medication, especially stimulants, can increase the processing speed/ability in that area of the brain that is impacted to get closer to what is considered "normal." Interesting side not on learning. Having ADHD does not mean you will do poorly in school. In fact I did very well and graduated in the top 10% of Washington graduates. This is a pretty common misconception. Additionally, for those with ADHD (and aren't medicated/have learned strong skills to overcome deficits), it can often take 30% longer to complete around 70% of the work completed by those without ADHD.

I took him showing the pills as something somewhat open ended: they could have been depression and anxiety meds to to help him, but my initial impression was that they were pain meds (or even something to un*live himself). He started with one, then many, then a whole bunch at a time. Since the accident, he was in chronic pain for YEARS. The constant strain of having to hide pain and perform grueling choreo can't be underestimated.

I don't know the details of his mothers' surgery. but I think she had a pace maker put in, from the way he describes it. His parents aren't dead. They made it through that time and are okay now. Also, he wasn't "popping drugs" he was taking medication for his anxiety, depression, and OCD, to help him get through those times, and his trauma. He messed up his shoulder pretty bad and couldn't tell anyone, and he didn't take care of it until later. In 2020, he had surgery to correct the damage, and he is so much better now.
Yoongi has shared his mental health issues with us since the beginning, and he stated how some of his roughest times were in the early days, like from 2014 to 2016, how he developed social anxiety at age 18, he was dealing with depression and OCD. BTS had hate coming at them from all angles, and it took a toll on them in the early years. So hearing all the other things he was dealing with as well, just puts things into perspective. He's such a strong person. In the making video, he said the scars we create are of our own making. So the best way for him to represent that was the way that he did with the scar on his face. And the medicine he took was for his condition. He talked about how he saw a psychiatrist and his parents went with him, and they said they didn't know who he was anymore. This was in "The Last" from his first mixtape Agust D.
He said how could anyone know him when he doesn't know himself, so that phrase "I don't know your name" made sense to me. Looking back at repressed memories. Thankfully he got through all of it, and now is healed to a certain degree. I see the rain as a shift., He also talked about "What doesn't kill you make you stronger", and he is now blooming like a lotus flower. The lotus flower is very resilient, and can grow in mud and water, like on a lake or pond. So I see the rain as cleansing, and healing.
He also said in the behind the scenes on Daechwita, that the mad King was the Agust D from his first Mixtape in 2016, and the peasant was from his 2020 mixtape D-2. You can see the scar is very raw in that video on both of them, maybe slightly less for the 2020 Agust D. In Haegeum, i interpret it as Agust D from 2020 is the Police detective/corrupt Boss, with the partially healed scar, and the Agust D that kills, and steals the money with no scar is D-Day Agust D. The one that is mostly healed and is talking about freedom. (Do we ever completely heal from our scars?) In an interview with IU, and in the D-Day film, he talks about how he was very angry and now he has forgiven the haters and is living in the present. So his music moving forward may not have the angry vibe that we have seen in the past. But he is definitely not done yet
The mv reveals a few chapters of his (real) life that a lot of people didn’t know about. He’s so strong for sharing it w his fans and trusting us.

Not drugs its pain killer. He did not tell management about his extreme shoulder pain. So he was learning to dance in agony. Later when he could not hide it he told them he fell down the stairs. So when they thought he was quiet he was in pain. Its why if he got drunk his personality changed because it deadened the pain. The damage by dancing with a damaged shoulder left the permanent injury that resulted in his operation and failing his army physical. He is really admirable. He could have got out of going into the army but instead went into the army welfare department. End of Youngis last concert he walked through the white door.
one hardship that wasn’t mentioned in this song was that his family was extremely poor .. to the point where if he took the bus home, he couldn’t eat, and vice versa. I think this on top of everything else mentioned in this song really contributed to his depression. 😔
yeah, amygdala is the origion and finale of the agust d story. damn... i like that interpretation. his life's not sweet so he wants to put the "sugar" in it. but cos he's an idol, people think it is sweet and rainbows and butterflies that's why he also sang in agust d by agust d, "he's far from sugar." 😭
actually the line u mentioned is because agust d by agust d was a diss track because before debuting they went on a kinda of interview (RM and suga) with underground rappers/rappers and they called them girls for having to wear make up and leaving the rapper life behind and becoming idols etc, and in that interview they associated suga's name as if he meant sugar not knowing its suga from shooting guard, so thats why the line ''far from sugar'' comes in saying that hes name is not really sugar and that hes far from sugar so the line doesnt really mean that what u thought it was!

Amygdala is said to be his biography. To me, I understood it as his pain all started when he was born then he found out about his mom’s heart cancer. His mom needed surgery for her heart. His family was also struggling financially. Then his passion for music was not welcomed in their family. But when he got in the agency, He started working part time as a delivery man. He met an accident. At first he didnt tell it to his company, even the members dont even know that he had a car accident. All he said to them is that he fell on the stairs. Then he suffered one more time when he received a call that his dad had liver cancer. I think he suffered more and more when they debuted and received a lot of hate. His social anxiety kicked in, he had depression. He was talking to therapist one time when he was asked if he ever tried to hurt himself and he said yes. It was all too heart breaking. He explained everything in his song in his last album. The song called The Last.

The car hit him, a hit and run and the wheel he said stopped right before going over his head. He said when he opened his eyes it was right at his head, eye level. He was working to pay for his schooling and didn't tell Bighit cause he was afraid theyd fire him from BTS....so he never went to the hospital but lived and worked with the pain in his shoulder that got hit for years!! He tried suicide but the night he did Jin found him.
Its when Bighit found out about his shoulder and he was in the hospital for his shoulder and because of the pills and suicide. His mom didn't die, but hes lived with the thought that her being pregnant is what caused her heart problems so he fills like he almost killed his mom. I'm not sure if his dad died, remember at one of his concerts he bowed down to his parent's and cried. Iy was the first one they'd come to.

While sharing his past: Suga made himself vulnerable to thousands. Been with them since '16 and he has said more than once. BTS - saved his life to this day. Had he not met them and simply become another depressed, traumatized (from his past) 'Ant'..in an 'Ant Hill' of a Society that places so much pressure on their youth to obtain an A++ in High School/get into The Best Uni/maintain a 'Decent job and bring Honour to their family'.. I just listen to appreciate the sound of the song, and patiently wait for the Doolsetbangtan page to be updated. Even the HYBE translations miss some of the context.

It’s not reliance if your brain doesn’t make the chemicals in the first place. I suffer from major depressive disorder. And the kind that is treatment resistant. I have been on meds and off meds. I wouldn’t be here without meds. My brain is my own worst enemy simply because it’s incapable of making those “happy” chemicals. Btw this isn’t to slam y’all. This is strictly educational
