What’s poppin’ Web-Heads? It’s me MT and this is a breakdown of Sam Raimi’s first Spider-Man film from 2002 featuring the first appearance of Tobey Maguire as the Spectacular Spider-Man himself! I’m gonna break down all the Easter Eggs that you may have missed after all the times that you have rewatched this classic of a Marvel film! So throw on your underoos because we’re about to Spider-Dive into it!
And right before the movie starts, a piece of cinematic history has already been made…as Spider-Man 1 would be the first ever Marvel movie with the comic book flipping pages Marvel intro…an intro that would show at the start of every Marvel film until Marvel Studios revamped their logo for 2013’s Thor The Dark World after becoming a more independent entity under DIsney.
Spider-Man 1 would also make cinematic history by becoming the first movie in history to make over $100 million on its opening weekend…with the movie earning a whopping $114.8M…firmly cementing the superhero genre as a profitable genre after studios were slowly starting to have faith in them again following the successes of both Blade and X-Men 1.

5:57 did you notice that the article says "Super Solider" instead of "Soldier?"
I actually disagree about the nanotechnology, the article was referring to the Glider. The Glider is also part of the "Goblin Program"
I still wish we could have seen Jim Carry as Carnage and John Malcovich as the Vulture if the fourth didn't get cancelled.
@NightriderzFlash it was handled so well by Keaton I don't know if it could be topped tbh
I'm surprised you didn't mention Norman Osborns teeth. Whenever Willam portrayed Norman he wore fake teeth and when he portrayed the Goblin he took them out, making him look more menacing.
I love that his own teeth were goblin teeth lmao
Rookie move
wow...after ALL these years, you caught my eyes to that!
At 27:49 and 27:53 , you can see this change. As Norman, his teeth doo look like veneers (I say doo because they look like it 😁), and as Goblin, you can see, they doo look like his normal teeth (lol).
Nice catch
Came here to say this considering he specifically mentioned the change in look between them.
Probably because everyone already knows about that
I’m something of a scientist myself.
Am more of a thientist mythelf

And everyone knows that jokes are funnier when you explain them. You're welcome!!
I wonder how much these retro breakdowns inspire people to rewatch. I do almost every time.
i tend to go watch "First Time" reactors to these movies, i like seeing peoples minds blown to stuff ive watched
It kinda sucks, that these old school breakdowns are not getting more views and likes. I hope y'all keep these going, I dig em. And MT, you are awesome bro, been watching you since your early Guardians of the Galaxy final Easter egg videos.
I feel like these are the kind of videos that stand the test of time and get more views over time vs an episodic show that comes out fresh
It has been out for 21 years....
It’ll get gradual views over time, it came out a long time ago
These retrospectives are some of my favorite content to watch on YT
‘Impaled balls’💀💀💀💀💀
I never knew I needed a breakdown of Spider-Man 2002 until today!! Absolute love for MT’s jokes 🤣🤣🤣
Another thing to point out how strong Green Goblin is, when he breaks Spiderman's webs it sounds like metal cables snapping, also in Spider Man 2, during the train scene the webs do not break, the building they are what breaks
Nah some of the weabs do break
Might be an old movie, but it never fails to suprise me with the details. I always love the vids! mt and paul, you guys are both amazing!
I loved the flipping comic pages as an intro to marvel movies when they started. For some reason made me feel a more serious tone.
27:40 Willem Dafoe also wore veneers for when he was Norman and had his natural more crooked teeth for Goblin
Willem looks back on his childhood and remembers when his nom couldn't afford braces for him.
_"Thanks, mom!"_ 😂
Once I heard impaled balls I knew how genius this breakdown truly was ❤
Imagine being on the street below the building where peter is shooting his webs and it lands on you.
I'd first be disgusted than scared af, I mean how big must a spider be to produce that much web
Legendary breakdown, MT! 🕷️💙❤️🕸️
26:00 I never see anyone mention this but during the parade fight, there's a moment where Norman stalls his glider, probably due to his inexperience with it. He tries to basically fly straight up and then stalls and comically falls to the side. I never noticed it until a year ago but I love that they had that detail.
I was in flight school when I first watched it and noticed.
My instructor said that was a good catch on my part. 😂
@@NarwahlGaming Lol that's awesome!
32:34 Bernard cleaned those wounds. I can see why he didn't initially tell Harry now. 😂
😂😂😂
😨🫡Bro is definitely not having anymore kids, even though his wife already left and, well, this killed him.
"What the fuck is this word?"
😅😂🤣
MT you truly are a gift to CZcams.
Fantastic video! thank you!
Really glad you landed here MT, great videos and content!
Can we all acknowledge the fact that Hugh Jackman / Wolverine was planned to have a cameo appearance in Spider-man? The man even flew to New York to shoot the scene, only for the the production team to not even have Wolverine's suit...
This was a good breakdown of Spider-Man 2002. I was five years old when my father took me and my brothers to the theatre to see it. It was scary, action pack and epic. William Dafoe amazing performance as the Green Goblin gave me nightmares as a little boy
Dude I want to be your dad when I become a father. Taking my kids to see nerdy movies with me; give the wife some time to herself or if she cares to join obviously she’s invited.
Great breakdown MT!! U guys always make me wanna go back and watch to catch all the stuff! 😆
Fun Fact: the expensive looking dagger prop was called the Knight's Dagger and cost $20 from United Cutlery in 1995.
Wow!! Great video as always, I have seen plenty of videos discussing this movie and I hadn’t heard some of these details that make this great movie that much greater. Again, awesome videos hope you guys do Spider-Man 3 as well.👏🏼
I'm enjoying you more here MT. Your delivery seems a lot more relaxed, and I enjoy listening to you more.
32:05 He not just a scary strong ass supersoldier, Hes a menace!
_"He wants to be famous? We'll make him infamous!"_
This movie holds a special place in my heart
Not sure why but this was a masterful breakdown!! Let’s go MT!
Great video.
Nice breakdown
Love the video, MT! Thanks!
5:58 Speaking of Typos… That newspaper article clearly says “Super Solider” not Super Soldier 😂
Solider Snake 😮
I just watched it yesterday and today there's a breakdown 😂 it's fate! ❤️
MT!!! This is what I've been waiting for!!
Hell yeah! Always great to hear MT!
Great breakdown as always MT!!!
This was really well done
Great breakdown MT!
Lucy Lawless was in Xena, which also had Ted Raimi as Joxer from time to time. That’s the connection you missed
YES!!! Spider-Man!!! THANKS, MT!!!!!!
I watched that movie when I was 6-7. It was a bit scary but mostly very cool and epic. A favorite of mine since then.
Haha I just watched MT on Guardians of the Palaxy as well.
Bravo!😁👍
I dont think this video ever showed up on my feed, i definately would have watched this when it came out
Legendary breakdown, MT! best :)
Love to hear MT!! Big fan of ya, man.
Imagine a Willam Defoe Joker
I now need this to happen on this timeline. Curse you. And thank you.
MT content that we all needed!
Great breakdown I love these classics
As a kid I would skip all the “boring” parts and just watch Spidey doing Spider-Man stuff. But as an adult my favorite parts of this movie are Peter Parker doing normal teenage stuff; this is a coming of age film just as much as it is a superhero film.
Interesting to see how much thought went into the dialogue and references in No Way Home and all of these little connections looking back
Thanks for this one definition
Pls do Spider-Man 2 & 3 as well🙏🙏🙏
No doubt
Also anyone notice how Gobby is born then we cut to 4 months later and he never once comes out as far as we know until they try to fire Norman?
Even tho I tend to forget, because of the newer comic book movies both grounded in reality and extremely over the top, this movie was freaking epic at the time it came out.
Love this MT magnificence! So soothing! Thanks boys!
Great job, MT!
6 foot 4 with my boots on lol. I still got my beats. Size means nothing when it comes to fighting with 3 or 4 little dudes. When you big, you have to fight more than one opponent very often.
MT the goat. Great breackdown fellow nerd
dope video !!!
William Dafou was a legend. Please One Day Batman and Robin 😂
2:40 😂😂😂😂 that's hilarious.
The classic that started it all.
Out of the thousand times I’ve seen this movie I don’t understand how I missed that Norman was impaled in the balls 🤣🤣🤣
Well done sir...
When I think what Sam Raimi was able to do with Spider-Man and what he did for Dr Strange, I can only imagine how much Disney had to change
Another gem! 💎
That moment when you realise that Oscorp's super soldier serum is incredibly similar to the one used by the Johann Shmidt (It just didn't turn his head into a red skull lol)
MTz on it with this one.
Staple movie from back the day.
Was on repeat at my place for at least a year after the DVD Dropped.
Most excellent Breakdown 👌
Love you MT!
Bravo. Now we need Spidey 2. Please and thank you 😁
6:05 amazing that someone on the production team wrote an article about Norman Osborn, especially it is a blink you miss scene
*"BoneSaw is Ready!"*
I feel smarter after listening to MT explain how there might be little robots invading Norman’s brain. I love MT.
Can’t W8 For The Spider-Man 2 And 3 Breakdowns 🔥🔥👌🏽
MT is the GOAT
Dont know when MT joined the channel, but I've been loving it
Like 👍🏽 529 Amazing video! 👏🏽 Thank you MT
MT brings this channel to the next level
what an amazing and interesting breakdown - so many Easter Eggs and nuggets - I had no idea all of these little details existed. Also, call me crazy but I had no idea Joe Manganiello was Flash Thompson or that he tried out to be Peter Parker/SpiderMan.
31:46 you can tell that Tobey's Peter had major PTSD when he heard Goblin repeat that line
I love it!
MT needs his own channel at this point. Thanks for giving him a home tho!
Your jokes throughout this video are absolutely hilarious 😆 I couldn’t stop laughing 👍
all memes aside, i loved this movie growing up and i love this movie now
You missed that The Green Goblin was rocking custom Nike Air Flightposites!!🤔😩🤦🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️😂
That “before having an alien inserted into his ass in spider man 3” @14:30 absolutely TOOK ME OUT LMFAO
MT in the HOUSE !!! 🙌🏾
MT always beings the deepest details
Joe was rumored to have been the pick for Venom in the Tobyverse. ALSO as an electrician i can confirm the small rectangular pieces on the side of the green goblins arms are romex wire staples. Some of the tubing also resembles wire conduit for automotive wiring. "Still creepy though" 😂
Love how the newspaper at 6:10 -ish has a typo, instead of "soldier" it is "solider"
I'm not much of a superhero movie Esther but I watched the first 2 original spiderman ones back in the day. To this day they are my favourite of the spiderman movies.
hope you breakdown Se7en as well
21:02 that scumbag even pushed the 100 bucks towards peter with his middle finger adding even more insult to injury
The physical transformation of Spider-Man with the spider and skulls were originally from a longer sequence.
Yo MT, dude you crack me the f$%k up I literally laughed my ass off atleast 3 or 4 times during this video lol. Keep on keeping on brotha!!
Worked at a Cinemark when this came out. The studio (or whoever) made us send all of the movie posters and banners back after 9/11 because the Twin Towers were reflected in the eyes.
Thanks for all the pics of spiders, now my skin is itching
When the movie came out, i had no issue with the actors' ages, i was just dumbstruck that i was getting to watch a live action with Spider-Man in it. Now that i look back on it & think with a clear head, all of the high school kids looked like what kids in high school looked like back in the 80s lol

I can't wait for you to breakdown the first 15 minutes of Spiderman 2. Because imo it's the best opening scene of a Spider-Man movie that really captures the duality of Peter Parker and spiderman
