    Very interesting stuff. The forming of the Talmud reminds me of this corner - commentary on commentary on commentary
    I also really like the story and to me, it’s easy to realize that it’s real people talking. The traditions that Pageau is always talking about seem much more like pagan mythology with a Christian veneer. I guess I’ll have to do more study to learn about the symbolism of carob trees and cucumbers.
    And it’s interesting that the distance to ostracize someone is 4 cubits - 6 feet, the distance everyone was supposed to stay away from everyone else for two years. No wonder people have felt so miserable

      The word for carob in Hebrew also means to destroy and sword. It has a dry, bitter fruit with little nutritional value. Yet it is one of the candidates for the Tree of Knowledge.
      Cucumbers are mentioned by the people complaining to Moses about the food they had in Egypt. It is filled with water, but has little taste and nutrition.
