It’s now 2020 and I did watch this back in the 80’s and have rewatched it, the entire 9 years and every episode 10 times through. I actually had to buy it, season at a time from Amazon as they took it off prime. Worth every penny. I am just addicted. Such a story and such actors! Love it.
I just bought the first 4 seasons. Can't bring myself to buy the next 5 as the show lost some of its magic for me when Pamela Sue Martin left the show.

Pamela Sue Martin suited Fallon :) She played the character great! Fallon always had the best one liners. She had a rebellious attitude and yet showed class and cheek and always told people what she thought. Can't get better then that I think. When Pamela left so did her character. Nothing beats the original.
Yes I agree In the early days of Dynasty Fallon was as big a bitch as her mum Alexis, But in a more up front way. And fun to watch Emma the replacement was crap compared to Pamela Sue Martin who suited the Fallon role.

I would have loved seeing them together too. They seem to have made a good impression on one another, seeing how in the 2006 Reunion they both said they would have loved working with another, and they sat next to one another during another Dynasty Reunion a year or so ago. The way how they behaved towards one another seemed to show they were very friendly, and seeing them play sisters/rivals/best friends would have been terrific and wonderful.

I would really like to see PSM & CO together. I don't count the recasts anyway. I don't mind Jack but the other 3 are disastrous. Fallon is my favourite and Amanda is my co-3rd fav and PSM/CO were irreplacable.I think PSM and CO would have better chemistry anyway. ES didn't really have chemistry with other actors and Pamela and Catherine both seem outgoing and fun and lively IRL. I think they'd click as frenemies. I SO wish the producers gave PSM the writing she wanted so she stayed for s5 & s6.
oh i iss them so much bought all memories when i was young keep on follow up this fantastic drama in such a legend and luxury living standard that shows who what is the most powerfull they are
I don't think I could ever love ES in the role to be honest. She never had the same fire and spirit as PSM, and just wasnt Fallon. I know some people say Fallon became wimpy in s3&4 but I don't see it. She became less exciting & bitchy & more mature but not weak. she still had that fire like when she put SJ in her place in season 4 and was sparky in her scenes with Adam and would stand up to Alexis. She was still willfull & independent & smart. She ran her own hotel and still spoke her own mind.
I'd be lying my ass off if I didn't admit how sadden I am that I didn't get the chance to hear how much "Blake" meant to "Fallon" and "Adam," during the moment the other characters began reminiscing about their memories of him. Great stories, but it would have meant a lot to hear from Pamela! 😕
I think I would have kept Fallon's disappearance and supposed death in S5, simply because it would have given better grounds for things to be really shaky between her and Amanda in S6, especially if Prince Michael died in the Moldavian Massacre like he should have (no offense). Amanda could have been mourning over being a 1-minute Princess while her entire family fawned over newly-returned Fallon - and what if Jeff had already started a romance with Amanda before he knew Fallon was still alive?
While Al Corley and Pamela Sue Martin left the series early on ... I'm glad they were the ones on this special. Replacing a character on a popular television show is almost always unfulfilling. In other words, For Steven, my two cents is that is was an AWESOME recast. I accepted him straight away.I remembered Al Corley's Steven ( at the end of his time on the show) as the very start of Steven's built up anger,resentment, bitterness, etc. And when Jack Coleman started it was like a baton being passed to the next runner: he just took Steven's anger etc and ran with it. For Fallon it was much harder for me to see Emma Samms as Fallon as her portrayal was SO different from Pamela Sue's. But after a while i began to see Emma's Fallon as a more mature version. Almost as if Fallon had matured after she had been through so much. The two that i NEVER accepted were Robin Sachs and Karen Cellini. Nothing against the actors, but those WERE HORRIBLE RE CASTS. For me, Gordon Thomson IS Adam Carrington..... and Catherine Oxenburg IS Amanda Carrington. Their portrayals of their characters were just spot on, Like Joan's Alexis. i don't know who made the calls for those recasts, but i never could accept those two. Anyway,just my two cents :)

At 6:56...i watched it a few times and have to say Forsythe and Collins had very good chemsitry even though one of us can imagine him with anyone BUT Krystle. I think in real life they got along fine despite what tabloids said and enjoyed working together.

Maybe, but I missed Fallon more in s5 than 6. I didn't grow to love Amanda until 6 and I thought moldavia was boring. But then in season 6 Amanda became really good and SJ was there too and when I knew PSM could never return because of ES I sort of let go of Fallon :) Maybe PSM could have been given 16 eps of s5 off, but when she finds out about Amanda moving in on her territory (Daddy, Jeff) she returns to Denver to fight for her whats hers. PSM would have returned if her writing was better
Where is Jack Coleman who took over the role of Steven? And John James who played Jeff Colby? Surely they should have been included in the reunion, being regulars on theshow. Incidently, r.i.p Mr Forsythe (Sadly missed both as Blake and the voice of Charlie)

Actually, Sammy Jo and Fallon became friends in season 9. So they could all form their own little trio of power-hungry divas... and maybe turn against one another from time to time... kinda like The Weird Sisters or something. XD
Yes, they could be, only because they are sisters, I would give them way more tender moments, and always try to have their rivalry over something legit. And heh, that Jeff, always hung up on Fallon. Though Amanda could have plenty of men chasing after her, that would teach Jeff! XD

Then she turns into ES and she's always crying and her voice is squeaky and weak and she's always saying how scared she is and everybody seems to intimidate her. PSM would always stand her ground, and when she didn't have the upperhand in a scene her eyes would be raging, and she' was full of defiance but ES's would be teary and defeated. *shrug* she just didnt play her right. Even in s9 she's a bit wimpy and flakey and wishy washy at times. I think PSM and CO are probably more feisty people IRL
*sigh* They could have hired an acting coach and worked hard during season 5 when PSM left and Fallon was gone; maybe then ES would have been good. But from what I've heard, ES played Holly on General Hospital and played her as sassy, so I don't know... plus, Fallon's character had already become wimpy in S3 & S4. But again, I don't know. Actually that would be cool and they could all fight over Jeff! Only he only has eyes for Fallon. Amanda/SJ will have to make do with Clay! I read that Amanda and Fallon were meant to have a scene in season 6 at la mirage where they're bitchy and catty and Amanda is a bit jealous of Fallon. But because ES was playing Fallon so wimpy and pathetic at the time they decided it wouldn't work so scrapped it :( I think PSM and CO would work better on screen anyway

Well in the catfight sequence, they showed a clip of her catfight with Fallon over Jeff. What was the episode to that? Does anyone know? I dont remember what episode it was, but I saw it on TV once, and I'd love to watch it again, along with other Dynasty episodes.
They could be the new Alexis/Krystle. Fallon would be the bitchy, ruthless Alexis figure and Amanda could be the sweet Krystle, but they'd be sisters like Sable/Frankie from the Colbys. Jeff could be Blake/Jason. He could be with Amanda but still secretly long for Fallon who wants to break them up to secure all of Jeff's inheritance for LB and Lauren.
Where was Diahann Carroll or Billy Dee Williams? Also where was Bo Hopkins. Also did you know that in The UK Stephanie Beacham & Joan Collins worked for Shed Productions. Stephanie played a Con Artist named Phyl Oswin on Bad Girls and Joan Collins was on it's sister show Footballers Wives.
Too bad ABC screwed everyone over by not properly tying things up. I know we had the reunion movie, but that was not proper. A miniseries the following season is what should have been done.

Hey - I know what you mean, although John also said some uncomplimentary things about Joan from time to time, and she at least waited until very recently to reveal some of the difficulties she had with him. He refused to speak to her for 6 months on season 6 because - just for once - he didn't get to pick up an award. His contractual approach was also that HE was the star and everyone else was subordinate, when quite clearly there were many stars of the show. So I think Joan just got fed up covering up some of their difficulties.

But then in season 6 Amanda became really good and SJ was there too and when I knew PSM could never return because of ES I sort of let go of Fallon :) Maybe PSM could have been given 16 eps of s5 off, but when she finds out about Amanda moving in on her territory (Daddy, Jeff) she returns to Denver to fight for her whats hers. PSM would have returned if her writing was better

Oh and ES as Fallon treated Jeff like her master and protector. Like she needed a man to look after her. *GAG* That is so not Fallon. I would definitely have preferred Jeff and Amanda to Jeff and ES Fallon even though Jeff and realFallon are my all time favourite couple. Jeff needs a sstrong woman to keep him on his toes :)

Actually, Sammy Jo and Fallon became friends in season 9. So they could all form their own little trio of power-hungry divas... and maybe turn against one another from time to time... kinda like The Weird Sisters or something. XD

Yes, they could be, only because they are sisters, I would give them way more tender moments, and always try to have their rivalry over something legit. And heh, that Jeff, always hung up on Fallon. Though Amanda could have plenty of men chasing after her, that would teach Jeff! XD

Then she turns into ES and she's always crying and her voice is squeaky and weak and she's always saying how scared she is and everybody seems to intimidate her. PSM would always stand her ground, and when she didn't have the upperhand in a scene her eyes would be raging, and she' was full of defiance but ES's would be teary and defeated. *shrug* she just didnt play her right. Even in s9 she's a bit wimpy and flakey and wishy washy at times. I think PSM and CO are probably more feisty people IRL
*sigh* They could have hired an acting coach and worked hard during season 5 when PSM left and Fallon was gone; maybe then ES would have been good. But from what I've heard, ES played Holly on General Hospital and played her as sassy, so I don't know... plus, Fallon's character had already become wimpy in S3 & S4. But again, I don't know. There's so much weirdness behind the scenes. XD
Actually that would be cool and they could all fight over Jeff! Only he only has eyes for Fallon. Amanda/SJ will have to make do with Clay! I read that Amanda and Fallon were meant to have a scene in season 6 at la mirage where they're bitchy and catty and Amanda is a bit jealous of Fallon. But because ES was playing Fallon so wimpy and pathetic at the time they decided it wouldn't work so scrapped it :( I think PSM and CO would work better on screen anyway

Well in the catfight sequence, they showed a clip of her catfight with Fallon over Jeff. What was the episode to that? Does anyone know? I dont remember what episode it was, but I saw it on TV once, and I'd love to watch it again, along with other Dynasty episodes.

They could be the new Alexis/Krystle. Fallon would be the bitchy, ruthless Alexis figure and Amanda could be the sweet Krystle, but they'd be sisters like Sable/Frankie from the Colbys. Jeff could be Blake/Jason. He could be with Amanda but still secretly long for Fallon who wants to break them up to secure all of Jeff's inheritance for LB and Lauren.

Too bad ABC screwed everyone over by not properly tying things up. I know we had the reunion movie, but that was not proper. A miniseries the following season is what should have been done.

Hey - I know what you mean, although John also said some uncomplimentary things about Joan from time to time, and she at least waited until very recently to reveal some of the difficulties she had with him. He refused to speak to her for 6 months on season 6 because - just for once - he didn't get to pick up an award. His contractual approach was also that HE was the star and everyone else was subordinate, when quite clearly there were many stars of the show. So I think Joan just got fed up covering up some of their difficulties.
