For someone who campaigned to leave the EU and hated Unelected Bureaucrats, Dorries seemed more than happy to become a Unelected Peer.
"The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them."

£300 quid per day, and subsidised meals at a central London club that keeps the riff-raff out... it's not to be sniffed at... 🧐
@@andrewwalsh2755 And yet the high levels of powder found in the toilets suggest lots of sniffing going on!
@@fearnpol4938... yes... but I'm sure it's Fair Trade Bolivian marching powder... supporting poor farming families somewhere...
Lots of people think this Government is the worst for 40 years and that Nadine is one of the worst MPs to represent it.
AND.....Lots of people would be right !😂😂
I agree entirely. They are the worst government in my lifetime!
@@adamsimmons631 You must be young. The Ba*****s Squared, Blair and Brown bankrupted the country, took us into an illegal war, and Brown stole a significant proportion of peoples pension funds. Nuff said before I make myself angry. (Edited typo)
She’s slightly better then 30 p Lee . Just !!! 😂😂
Think?
Backing Boris Johnson has done enormous damage to the country, our polotics and the UK world reputation.
The unhappier she becomes and the angrier she gets, the happier I become. It's the only source of joy I have in relation to anything Johnson is involved in.
Nadine Dorries "For services to entertainment" she's always been comedy gold.😂😂
Nadine Dorries Flying Circus.
Nadine Dorries fools and Horses.
Nadine Dorries: `Least likely to be given a peerage`. More likely a jail sentence.
Michelle Moan got elevated to the HoL.......
Not even Daily Express readers are taken in by her entitled self-pity - something I find quite encouraging.
Of course they are not. It's not in the Express. It's in the Mail. OK some of them might read both papers but...
Lighting a candle for Nadine Dorris in her time of crisis. 🤣😂
You could have just said that Nadine Dorries is pathetic & left it at that.
Sorry, but just because you have served time as an MP does not give you an automatic right to any form of honour. Only people who change peoples lives for the better deserve one 🤬
But that's why they become mps be a goodygoody ,toe the line never say no hence peerage ,job for life
Do you think that’s why Moggy was knighted?
@rowancrew2934 definitely he's my mp will tell you one thing on the street then go to Westminster and do the opposite ,he's two faced 😉
@@deanjames2476 A vile Toff😬
And to think that 'Dorries' and 'culture' were at one time used in the same sentence. Incredible.
She's coming across as very self centred. She's made a subject access request (or whatever you call it) to try to make her own investigation into why she wasn't given a peerage. Does she realise how bad that looks? I don't think she's peer material tbh.
Agree. Nadine , disappointingly, has shown her true colours. Just a person works and manages to work their way up does not mean they are entitled to accolades. Beggars belief.
JUST A LITTLE BEMUSED HERE how the F!!!!K does Johnson get the right to give ANYBODY a peerage ( THE BLOKE SHOULD BE BEHIND BARS) or am i missing something? ONE THING FOR SURE HE IS OBVIOUSLY NOT PLUMB over and out.
What's she supposed to have done to deserve a peerage?🤔
Gone down on Bozo in the Downing St stationery cupboard, is one of many possible answers.
NOTHING.
@@elpresidente8730 Thanks for making me feel sick.
Special advisor Caroline Owens 30 years old has been giving a life peerage what has she done to get that .
@@garydixon4290 Only he and she would know. ....
I’ve seen teenage meltdowns with more dignity and more foundation.
Incidentally foundation is what Dorries wears too much of.
Dorris must be furious but who in their right mind would want to see her in the House of Lords.🧟♂️🤡🤮
What's so funny about this is that while Boris wasn't going to give Nadine a peerage, he was going to give his hairdresser one. Ouch!
she was on Boris list Times radio in denial again i supose
Don't forget his wife's dog walker.
I think Boris has given Nadine something else , more than once .
@josiekaposie5783 More likely that she gave him something. After all, it worked for Carrie, by all accounts.
Her major mistake was to trust Johnson, and she is far from alone in this.
How does a bad hairdresser get an MBE/OBE bozo hair is a laughing joke around the world. Any normal person would be ashamed to admit that was their work.
I'd like to nominate the pudding basin for a gong.
Michael Fabricant got a knighthood too - the only one with more ridiculous hair (he always denied it was a wig) than Boris
Humiliated herself, again 😂😂😂
Imagine them believing that they deserve something for doing absolutely NOTHING!
Entitlement personified.
What exactly has she done of any note in Parliament beyond making the usual conveniently cherry picked noises on behalf of constituents? She then got meaningless senior briefs for championing Boris with devotion bordering on a crush. Neither her flaccid parliamentary career nor her loyalty to Boris warrants special recognition. Presuming people in public service should expect or demand rewards anyway. So now she's bleating about class and gender...
The more ridiculous case will be Truss. Funnelled by Cameron through most Cabinet roles where she did little but take credit for things that would have happened anyway (usually standing in front of a Union flag). Regarded almost universally by senior colleagues and civil servants as a lightweight know nothing PITA on the make. Then she made it to the position where her ill-informed bad ideas couldn't be struck - and went down before you could blink. In actual relevant time it was about three weeks, since her mayfly tenure contained conference and royal mourning proceedings. That it's even conceivable that she be permitted an honours list is pathetic on a grander scale than this silly season story about a silly person and a silly system.
"a silly system."
Their system.
It works for them.
We're the silly ones for putting up with it generation after generation.
@@bakedbean37 Ah yes the Lords... I've had some experience with that lot (my old profession) and in a weird British way the gestalt result isn't all that bad (silly patronage aside). The lifetimers who are mostly rather conscientious. The church appointees who generally follow whatever new trend the Vicar of Canterbury spouts on the Today programme. The ones from business who at least know what a balance sheet and P&L are. And the promoted green benchers. Who mostly only have a clue what they're talking about when ordering food.
Times radio is killing it with its spotlighting Tories’ corruption and failure.
Tory corruption and failure is just a gift that keeps on giving on a daily basis 😂🇬🇧
@@johnmccann5104 the grift that keeps on grifting yup 😩 #fuckthetories
I don't think I can think os someone less worthy of getting a peerage than Nadine Dorries.
Danny Finkelstein should accept all responsibility for his actions, he got what he wanted, Alexander Boris Johnson and ALL that goes with it
Exactly, I can't take the guy seriously after smearing Corbyn. It's the same as me crying wolf and calling someone racist when their absolutely the opposite.
Boris Johnson posh? Really?
How about this for an approach? Let's not talk another word about Johnson, Dorries or Rees-Mogg. Starve them of the oxygen of publicity and see how long it takes for them to shrivel away.
Dorries dream of leveraging off a peerage to become a non executive director of a chip shop in Toxteth is over.
Guyhmajor I cracked up reading your excellent post.
Anfield. She's going bacch to heir roots, licche. (Ey, ey, cchalm down...)
I quite enjoyed seeing Rishi giving Boris a bit of a kicking 🤭
A mans ambition should not exceed his worth.
Bye bye Boris.
JOHNSON wasn't asked to leave as P.M for lying to the house. It was because of the Pincher affair, and his m.p.s started resigning and saying they couldn't serve under him anymore, until finally JOHNSON resigned, and left kicking and screaming, and saying everyone was making a big mistake and he's done nothing wrong, which he's still saying today!!
Even after all of this, these people still stand by their statement that Corbyn would have been more dangerous. Just unbelievable. All these people are going to pin their culpability on Boris himself. While Boris deserves everything he gets and more, that is in fact the reason why this will happen again.
I voted Corbyn myself. But It would have been far from an idyllic utopia (covid), and the press would have torn him to shreds long since. He probably wouldn't have lasted his first term (views on geopolitics w/ Russia).
Doris...'help meh'
When I saw & heard her being questioned about the privatisation of Channel 4 I could not believe she did not know it was a private company and had always was - it spoke volumes that hear was the minister for culture . This person should not have been a minister for any part in government never mind being given a peerage.
When Boris's name is mentioned Nadine has the wide-eyed and star-struck look of a teenage groupie discussing her favourite pop guy.
Incredible to realise that the besotted Nadine is now not far off her septuagenarian years?
Does The Times still back Brexit?
Or do we have to wait until the Rupe dies for that?
The latter 😂
@@timtalk6285 One day he'll get his wish to not live in a democratic USA and not have to visit the EU any more.
I'm still debating whether its worse to sell fash for cash or to sell fash because you are a Hatey Katie.
What has she done or achieved to deserved a peerage? I have always known the UK is a very corrupt country but this is down right criminal.
For being a Legend in her own mind.
its not
I'd say over 600 in the house of Lords did nothing to get their peerages apart from donating money to the 3 parties or being failed useless politicians 🤔
Thank you... ur reporting is spot on current affairs ...🎉
The headline should just be “Nadine D is pathetic”. End
Giving Nadine Dorries a peerage....... You have got to be joking. Everyone that didn't vote for the tories since 2010 should be the ones given peerages for putting up with them.
THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO LEGALLY DEFEND ITSELF REGARDING THE SEEMINGLY PROPOSTEROUS ALLEGATIONS MADE BY NADINE DORRIES.
I predicted, before Johnson took up the Prime Ministership, that he would be the worst Prime Minister in British history. Was I the only one? Or, as I suspect, were there many others who knew just as well as I did, but who expected to profit from the deceit, incompetence, hypocrisy and chaos of this huge clown show?
Well Truss make have taken that title, but Dear Alex is pretty close to the bottom - perhaps he likes it like that.
In her own head, Nadine is imagining that Johnson left because Sunak didn't honour the ... 'honours' list and he left because she - Johnsons most loyal worshipper - didn't get a gong!
Johnson's stuck: how do you drag down someone who pretended to take a bribe but didn't?
Perhaps it's time the honours system precluded politicians. A seventy two year old who is now totally disillusioned with British
This is all very well, but you are not addressing the fundamental point which is that we require urgent House of Lords reform.
It's odd that neither Lord Finkelstein, nor Lord Hague earlier on, have made this point.
I’m sorry I believe Corbin do better from the Clown Boris 😂😂😂😂
I believe Larry the Downing Street cat would do better than Boris and he would definitely be more loyal and trustworthy 😂🇬🇧
ONLY THE MONARCH SHOULD MAKE THE DECISION ON WHO GETS A PEERAGE ! NOT ANY POLTICIAN
She was my MP and her getting denied a peerage was hilarious, her actions since mean she'll never be considered later. Dorries' vanity means she'll never get over this and the thought of all those blow jobs she gave Boris with nothing in return will drive her mad.
Apparently Johnson and Nigel Adams have formally resigned as MPs but Nadine Doris has not. What's going on with her ?
It is fascinating how the tories are a bunch of empowered fools
Don't give Dorris a peerage or we'll never see the back of her !
The biggest insult was her suggestion not getting a peerage was a slight against normal working people. When in fact her getting a peerage would be a slight asit highlights the croniesm above ability on show.
Working tirelessly chasing that elusive meal ticket.
Entitlement crashes into reality and we get to listen to the mental contortons as they try to rebuild their entitlement bubble.
Rishi Rich propped up and appeased BoJo for far too long when the blob was Prime Minister, end of.
I think it's extraordinarily unfair not giving Nadine Dorries a seat in the House of Lords. Literally *everyone* else that has debased themselves for political favour, or dropped massive contributions to the Tories for the continuity of far right policies, is safely ensconced in this institution. To exclude the person who sold themselves and their 'principles' so absolutely shockingly blatantly for political merit seems churlish.
However, it is increasingly impossible to make a case that people are elevated to the House of Lords through 'honours'. It is in actual fact the direct equivalent MPs have, for the home in Father Ted that stage 12 and over Priests were sent to, when they were no longer viable to leave exposed to the public.
Dorries playing silly buggars because she didn't get a peerage, probably following what her lover bozo has told her to do
Hang on I’ve just been reminded of a 5th biggest lie, “this government will have integrity, accountability etc. etc. (I stooped listening right here!) at every level”
I see Nodding Doris is still nodding, if she carries on for much longer her head will drop off - it was never strongly attached anyway.
I'm exhausted by this ridiculous shifting narrative. Are we supposed to forget all the things Nadine has said? From her views about the Lords, what she knew about it and the same day 'oh I would never resign and force a by-election'? Because back here in reality it looks like she's been pretending that she was an innocent lamb while prioritizing her own aims over everyone and everything else. The only thing I do believe is Nadine "tennis pitches" Dorries couldn't be bothered to find out how the vetting process worked and assumed she could walk straight from the Commons to the Lords.
i suspect that poshness can be a cover for greater depravities. not saying it is here. just saying it could be.
What happens when the lawmakers are above the law , and the punishment is a peerage at the end of it = carry on regardless
Nadine Dorries is showing absolute contempt for her constituents.
Time is right to remove the House of Lords and all those who sleep in it
Does Boris give a toss about Nadine Dorries? 😂 Yeah, sure!
She mustn't have been very good on the job. 😂
Danny Finkelstein AKA Baron Finkelstein of Pinner OBE. Just in case anyone is curious.
Dorries has clearly read too many romance novels - she's certainly written too many - hence her teenage crush at the age of 66.
Am I missing something? Why should she be pathetic for believing she was going to get the peerage when she WAS on the list initially?
CORRECTION- Johnsonshites v Sunakers.
Don't forget that Boris forced Theresa May and the House of Remainers led by John Bercow onto the Nation, when Cameron waved goodbye.
He didn't fancy going against the EU, so he let her have a go first thinking that he could bluff his way along, when she inevitably failed.
Michael Gove "withdrew" his support and then when BJ was PM, he was given a decent job. Strange that?.
Remember how painful it was going through strong and stable and indicative votes???
Global 🇬🇧 punching well above its weight again. 🤣 No wonder the rest of the 🌎 cant take us seriously.
I bet she feels used
And not for the first time.
She should get a life peerage for London zoo chimp house 😂😂
Corbyn would be worse? What evidence is there for this popular on the far right, but ludicrous assertion? How could it possibly be worse?
Bullingdon club v poor girl from Liverpool = what did she expect ???😢
I suppose they’d throw a bit of cash at the direction of the engaged stripper, but apparently not 😂😂😂
It could have been me . . .
.
Pray for Nadine. All together now...??😆
Nadine deserved her peerage for services to the compulsive liar
This nonsense highlights why the Honours system needs an urgent review. It won’t be reviewed or reformed but it does need to be done.
SYMPATHY for ND 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
what percentage of the House of Lords went to private schools .
Needs to be locked in a room with Carol Malone, Julia Hartley Brewer it would be like a fox a hen house, the racket would be deafening.
I'd give her one 😉
Nadine writes and lives fiction neither very well.
We used to talk about political titans. What do we call this lot? Political pygmies?
Lord Finkelstein is frightfully good. So glad to see British humour (and good sense) is alive and well.
Sunak could have just put her on his summer honours list. Easy fix. Or communicated to her what she needed to do and got it sorted rather than block her in the most cowardly slimy way imaginable.
I can't believe the state of the Conservative party. I know people who've voted Tory 30yrs who are seriously considering Starmer.
Did I mishear or was the word "pathetic" not used in this conversation?
Nadine “I write books don’t you know” Dorries (I’m not mad, no!) (oh yeah, I’m also not an acolyte, I prefer flying monkey i.e. from wizard of oz) (cheep cheep)
So they backed a cad and now it's a new day.
There is nothing pathetic about it . . .
The quality of this channel started off as pretty second rate and has declined consistently ever since . . . .
The former hugely respected name of "The Times" is dying here . . .
I always love hearing Danny Finkelstein take on politics
Native Dorries is Pathetietic. There you go, I've corrected it for you.
Interesting that you assume that all 3 seats remain tory.
😂😂😂😂
Fawlty towers sums it up perfectly 😂
only in politics can someone expect a peerage for being a useless MP ?
The Mrs Tishell of the Tory Party !
That man has a fairly well documented history of giving stuff to women in exchange for sexual favours. It's never his own stuff, though, since he has very short arms.
