What exactly has she done of any note in Parliament beyond making the usual conveniently cherry picked noises on behalf of constituents? She then got meaningless senior briefs for championing Boris with devotion bordering on a crush. Neither her flaccid parliamentary career nor her loyalty to Boris warrants special recognition. Presuming people in public service should expect or demand rewards anyway. So now she's bleating about class and gender...
The more ridiculous case will be Truss. Funnelled by Cameron through most Cabinet roles where she did little but take credit for things that would have happened anyway (usually standing in front of a Union flag). Regarded almost universally by senior colleagues and civil servants as a lightweight know nothing PITA on the make. Then she made it to the position where her ill-informed bad ideas couldn't be struck - and went down before you could blink. In actual relevant time it was about three weeks, since her mayfly tenure contained conference and royal mourning proceedings. That it's even conceivable that she be permitted an honours list is pathetic on a grander scale than this silly season story about a silly person and a silly system.

Literally *everyone* else that has debased themselves for political favour, or dropped massive contributions to the Tories for the continuity of far right policies, is safely ensconced in this institution. To exclude the person who sold themselves and their 'principles' so absolutely shockingly blatantly for political merit seems churlish.
However, it is increasingly impossible to make a case that people are elevated to the House of Lords through 'honours'.
