Letterman later had Zach on his Netflix show and exclaimed that Between Two Ferns was one of the best pieces of comedy he'd ever seen.
Letterman played this better than anyone I've ever seen. McConaughey did really good too.

I totally get why Lettersmen stopped shaving. I had a client facing job out of college and had to shave pretty much every day. It was hell. When I switched careers, I didn't shave for three years. It felt great.
Letterman's humility and willingness to do ANYTHING for the sake of the joke is mind-blowing.

I was worried in the beginning. Looked like Letterman didn't know how to handle this thing at first because he's used to being the smart ass. But it didn't take too long for them to find a really good dynamic. This was great.
He's in on the joke and acting.
Zach came up with some hilarious lines with his little tiny short Greek butt to make the Giant giggle because he'd never heard those lines ever directed at himself. The funniest thing is Zach is actually one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet. Everyone loves him. Yet he plays the most abrasive idiot on between two ferns. The Bradley Cooper episode is awesome too.
