I like to see it once again in a few years from now, to see how many pebbles get stuck on the way (if they're too large) and listen to how it affects the sound. I would also play with it for a long time. Great idea!
I'm the guy hiding in the closet watching you sleep. While this music plays. When you're standing outside your window, you will find me staring up right back at you from a distance🤣🤣🤣
It might've been genius if it wasn't so heavy. That way one could transport it to a stage easily to use it in a concert as part of the instrumentation. It would sound good as a piece in the music played. 🕊
It would be great if those were common in public parks, but I bet it would be only weeks before they became gummed-up with trash and oversized rocks, and stopped working properly.
This was charming but I would have preferred that a stone strike high notes going down to low beside a stripe going the opposite way perhaps with a division between then on a diagonal. I think this would have created the most interesting self/compositions. I’ll have to make one : )
One of the funniest experiences in my life was seeing the reaction on my friend’s face as she tasted the heaped teaspoon of Vegemite she’d just put in her mouth as I’m screaming Noooooo. I’d looked up from my meal and hadn’t realised what she was about to do. Poor woman.
I’m listening to this and I am now thinking about making a new tool to sift my rocks in the soil. When it rains very hard several of my my neighbors DG and gravel flow down the street and lodge between my tires and the curb. I park about 12” from the curb just incase it rains. I have several types of sifters and the manual ones work the best and are easier to maintain than the mechanical ones. I have some old wood planks and might make a 1/2 sided one. Trial and error makes the genius.
That's so cool. I would love to make one out of varnished wood and pipes then create a base like a sand box and put small steel balls in it and put it as a small yard art piece on your patio. Not as big as this one though.
Yes, of the greatest minds in history, let us not forget: "Person who created musical Plinko sculpture". It had gotten rave reviews, with critics calling it "a real hit with the little ones who come to the park" and "just some other modern art"....One reviewer stated: "its basically a glorified wind chime, really". Social intellectuals have also commented on it.... (i assume) with comments like 'cool', 'neat' and even 'fine, but please stop bothering me' (in my head. dude, I just said I was assuming. I didn't waste a real intellectual's time on this). "Genius".... to hell with words and their definitions! This is EPIC and is, LITERALLY, the work if a GENIUS! "True Dat, Yo" - Some Horse Guy
What if you could cause it to levitate by embedding the instruments deeper in a rock that had more quarts in it and by finding the right sound frequency?
Sounds like the sound effect in Mario when either Kamek or the Koopalings put a spell on Bowser every time he gets knocked out the first time fighting Mario
Children would play with that for about fifteen minutes. Me and the rest of the adults, would be lost in this for days. Missing persons reports would be filed. Love the concept of this!
the idea is derived from the native american rainsticks, cacti rolled outward in, sealed with pebbles. traditionally used as the name states to entice the gods in order to produce rain. great application of the concept
I want one! I’m not a kid anymore but I could do that for an hour. An hour outside, breathing fresh air, not watching TV, playing video games or just on my computer watching random stuff on You tube.
@red cherry Extreme over simplification stator rotor pieces. I hope that draws a picture for you. If not you are going to have to work it out yourself.
It's the moment of terror when you see ''something'' behind that dark corner but you can't really know what it is. You can't move because you are afraid.
Indeed. Once I heard how it sounds, I immediately imagined how crazy it would be to arrive there at night, not knowing about it, and then suddely hearing that freaky sound out of nowhere.
Looks like the kind of stuff they put up in the Battery park, NYC's playground. It has awesome, marble slides too that are super high, like 2&1/2 to 3 flights of stairs high. It has a giant prism too.
Either the sound of when you calculate the square root of infinity or...when a faceless psychotic chases Dennis Weaver through the California desert in an oil tanker.
It's an upscaled version of a pretty common children's toy with marbles. Very artsy version too. Probably sounds pretty in the rain too. Genius? Hmmmm I'd say that as a compliment to the creator, but the device is not indicative of extraordinary intelligence.
This is simply adapted from the Rain Stick used by Native latin Americans to attract rain. A hollow cactus tube with pebbles and thorns. They are the geniuses.
At some aviation museums there are old jet turbine engines mounted vertically and they let people drop BBs down through the compressor blades. It sounds pretty much just like that. I'll bet that's where the idea came from.
LMAO. AND THEN ABRUPTLY STOPS WHEN HE GET SLAIN FROM BEHIND MID CRAZY MODE AND GOES : UUGGHH...HOW...IS THIS POSSIBLE...YOU...THUD ON GROUND** and the hero just says : okay guys let's get a move on. like it was a casual Thursday evening.
Hear that sound in the middle of the night while u walk alone in that park and then say that again. I haven't heard something more horror inducing than that sound.
Einstein was a genius, Feynman was a genius, the guy who stuck some metal rods in concrete that go 'plink plink plink' atonally... also a genius
🥴
You're a genius for using "atonally". Own it.
@mason602 sick, guess now geniuscism is a thing and that the word "genius" is like a new n word or something
Pretty sure they’re in the key of Bb my guy
Newton = Einstein
This is the sound GameCube makes when you hold all the buttons at once
nostalgia
Great system. Before we started getting dumb insufferable controllers.
@Fabian Remie 😂😂
Sounds like the intro to a Pokémon game can’t remember which one tho
Oh my god-GameCube! How did I forget about GameCube?! I loved that system!
When you want to be a musician but your parents force you to become a civil engineer
Best reply 🙃
the music that starts when horror movies just starts to get scary :)
EXACTLY
Sounds like your getting exp in Minecraft
That would be a water phone
Ahahaha yeah
It sounds like the movie A Christmas Story when ralphie starts day dreaming
A sound that can be both pleasant and horrifying at the sametime.
This whould fit in both r/oddlyterrifying and r/oddlysatisfying at the same dang time
My👻FART when it comes
out feeling SOLID😨?
I bet they have to rake potato chip bags out of it all the time.
imagine suddenly hearing this in the middle of a pitch black night
There's just a glowing little girl in 1880's attire dropping rocks into this and staring at you from the distance
I'd actually jump, then leave the area. Like hell naw I ain't dying today
OBJECTIVE: SURVIVE
I've ever heard of a witch laughing sound outside my high-rise apartment window once no kidding...
I am telling you, run if you hear this
I like to see it once again in a few years from now, to see how many pebbles get stuck on the way (if they're too large) and listen to how it affects the sound. I would also play with it for a long time. Great idea!
We've had one at our local museum for ages now. Always loved playing with it as a child and now my children love it too😊 its very cool.
That's the sound I hear when I realize the call was coming from inside the house.
Best comment lol so true
🤣♥️
I need a 10-hour version, thank you.
yeah a 10 hour version of a horror music, ok
😂
Sounds like music that would play when a horror movie antagonist is chasing u
@1080GBAScratchCoding lol wut
I'm the guy hiding in the closet watching you sleep. While this music plays.
When you're standing outside your window, you will find me staring up right back at you from a distance🤣🤣🤣
@Jin_cotl *gasp* is that PREMARITAL HAND-HOLDING?!?
Goofy ahh,🤡
Exactly,💀
I never knew being recognized as a genius could be accomplished so easily.
Totally
Ikr, and the guy who invented sliced breads a genius too
It might've been genius if it wasn't so heavy. That way one could transport it to a stage easily to use it in a concert as part of the instrumentation. It would sound good as a piece in the music played. 🕊
This genuinely literally makes me feel warm inside I love this thing and I want one lol
@T Jacobs Yea I don't know where this is but thats a reason we can't have nice things in the states
This is def the sound that thousands of small spiders make while they chase after you in horror games
But it’s also the sound that comes when Chuck Norris chases 1000 spiders
minecraft xp collecting sounds
@TheFailus It sounds haunted in a melodic way, like a bunch of glass coins playing a harp at night
lol I didn't think about it until you said it but you are right.
@TheFailus little creepy sound you'd hear when running away from a thousand spiders in a movie, or like Resident Evil
One of the funniest experiences in my life was seeing the reaction on my friend’s face as she tasted the heaped teaspoon of Vegemite she’d just put in her mouth as I’m screaming Noooooo. I’d looked up from my meal and hadn’t realised what she was about to do. Poor woman.

"True Dat, Yo" - Some Horse Guy
I could listen to this for hours 😊
Anyone else see the spur, left at the start of the video, almost kicked em in the head?
Good evening, Satan.
Jfc you are more easily entertained than a child 🤦🏼♂️
Put a statue in it
My annoying brother and cousin on discord next to me
If you have no sibling you will never understand that there is no piece
This sounds like when I put random notes in Fruity Loops and think I made a sick techno song.
That's awesome! Sounds beautiful! They were a very creative genius! ❤️
The last sounds you hear before the sleep paralysis demon consumes your soul.
@Pew Pew hahahaha. almost wet my pants !
Paralysis demons are real, we call them Jinns (Look it up)
Don’t say dat
Same
YES! 100x THIS! I couldn't have worded it better. That is EXACTLY what this is.
Whoever did this might have heard a screw fall down a turbine engine. Beautiful sound that makes your stomach hit the floor when you hear it.
Einstein was a genius, Feynman was a genius, the guy who stuck some metal rods in concrete that go
'plink plink plink' atonally... also a genius!!!
Sounds like when something is crawling around and it’s getting closer to you
Now watch someone master this as a musical instrument 😂
The calmest Anxiety-inducing sound ever.
Its basically big rainstick.
@GottaChangeNameCuzSomeoneElseAlreadyUse"0 0" Hearing the Wind chimes and then tornado warning pops up😃also in the middle of the night🤣
until you hear it late at night
@peacrabr + 953th like
fr + 800th like
I love it. Beautiful sound. Sorta like a rain stick. But it produces a lovely non repeating sound.
It sounds like a movie when the actor stares into the distance and they have a flashback to a particular thought or occurrence
Well, I guess to anyone with a simple brain, you can understand Child’s toy this is actually quite simple. Just nice.
The sound I hear when I wake up with sleep paralysis from a night terror.
When the game counts the total gems you collected
Great
Lol true
@Goldie & Koi no
fall guys choosing who gets eliminated
@mackyrulezmystery box get it right
Children would play with that for about fifteen minutes.
A genius would have found a way to mechanize it so as to transport the stones up and drop them in a continuous cycle.
I want one!
I’m not a kid anymore but I could do that for an hour.
An hour outside, breathing fresh air, not watching TV, playing video games or just on my computer watching random stuff on You tube.
The sound you never want to hear when working on turbine engines.
@Danny, Daniel stop it lol
@Dogerator when I see ur pfp I can only think of that ridiculous song with the dude singing wicked high pitch to a dog with a really long nose lol
Ragecs
Experience?
Or close call?
Happy motoring
👍😎
@red cherry Extreme over simplification stator rotor pieces.
I hope that draws a picture for you.
If not you are going to have to work it out yourself.
Why is that
Imagine waking up in the middle of night and you hear this across your room
A musical genius!
That thing sort of sounds like a rain stick.
Now imagine hearing that in the middle of the night.
Sure, it is genius and it is all fun and games until it starts playing in the middle of the night and you realize there is no one else in the park.
They even have roads that play tunes. Now that's genius
@Tünde Vig That is surely the one I am thinking of. My wife's famì
@Norm Turner
Yes, there is one in Hungary (too)!
@Carnie74 There's a stretch of interstate in Alabama that plays a tune made famous by Hank Williams Sr. Can't remember where exactly tho:(
@Norm Turner in the US too. I drove one a few years ago; it was really cool!
Yes, in Europe. 👌 🎶
I need one with a conveyer belt. So this continues forever. Adjust speed, amount accordingly. Great learning tool for kids
This was actually designed by an aircraft mechanic who got fired for accidentally dropping a bolt into a turbine engine
The person that came up with this had to have had experience working on jet engines
Expectation: angelic chimes
Reality: NIGHTMARISH DISCORDANT HORROR
True tho
@Acaidia ?
Discordant 💀
no it's crazybus
Awe u ruined it 😐
This is the sound you don’t wanna hear when working on turbine engines.
I feel like this is like a tally hall song opening that is about experiencing a nightmare, knowing its a nightmare and not being able to get out of it
I'd make a beat out of that if I was a engineer
The sound you don't want to hear when working on a jet engine.
That is the sound of a moment in a horror movie.
@Lee Noneusually right before the jump scare
Don't look behind, there's a guy with a ax.
It's the moment of terror when you see ''something'' behind that dark corner but you can't really know what it is. You can't move because you are afraid.
*Did it just get colder in here?*
Indeed. Once I heard how it sounds, I immediately imagined how crazy it would be to arrive there at night, not knowing about it, and then suddely hearing that freaky sound out of nowhere.
I'm confused, what does it do to rise to the level of genius?
its like when you're in a horror movie and a big spider is chasing you
Looks like the kind of stuff they put up in the Battery park, NYC's playground. It has awesome, marble slides too that are super high, like 2&1/2 to 3 flights of stairs high. It has a giant prism too.
Not gonna lie, if I woke up in the night to that sound, my life is over. I don't wanna know what happens next
This is the sound you hear when you go check the window you left open at night, and now there's a human-sized spider standing behind you.
*returns to dust*
That's exactly the song they sing!
Is it Spiderman? Fuck no, it's Manspider
They actually aren't that scary when they have a large enough hitbox to be attacked.
@maremagnus He's worried about what's outside too.
genius is like beauty, in one respect, and especially in this case it is in the eye iof the beholder.
Imagine walking through there alone at night and hearing that sound
Imagine walking through that park in the middle of the night and hearing that...
Either the sound of when you calculate the square root of infinity or...when a faceless psychotic chases Dennis Weaver through the California desert in an oil tanker.
It sounds like when you get drugged in a 1970s movie and the villain just stares at you.
It turns out it was you all along...(roll credits/synth music)
Not quite. This was what 1970s drugs actually sounded like
oh my god you are dead accurate 💀
Why is that so specific, and accurate?-
Bro stop😂
You do realize that in about 10,000 years someone will find that thing and have no idea how it was made or why
I fear the word 'Genius' has somewhat lost its original luster.
I second that
Original meaning, like lots of words today redefined to fit ones narrative or in this case click bait
😂
Am I the only one who instantly thought of a sleep paralysis demon crawling towards them with this sound?
It's an upscaled version of a pretty common children's toy with marbles. Very artsy version too. Probably sounds pretty in the rain too. Genius? Hmmmm I'd say that as a compliment to the creator, but the device is not indicative of extraordinary intelligence.
imagine hearing that in the middle of the night with no one around
I have a cat so sounds have to be much scarier than this to get me out of bed.
Oh someone's around alright, just not someone you want to see
1k likes no comment?
Imagine hearing almost anything in the middle of the night whith no one around.
I don't think I want to image that thank you very much.
The term "genius" is thrown around way too loosely these days!😂
it would have been genius if it played a musical piece with multiple parts.
thats prime dbd chase music, someone should send this to the devs
Ah yes, hard rock and metal. Genius indeed.
Bro got that "XP Farm" typa beat yo
لوف يو
And a fall damage noise in the middle of it
Boutta type it but saw this lol
You're a genius for this comment 💀
It's a "Palo de agua". Water stick. They're made of hollow wood, wooden little sticks, and seeds
This looks like something you'd spend 30 mins on thinking only 5 mins has passed.
This is simply adapted from the Rain Stick used by Native latin Americans to attract rain.
A hollow cactus tube with pebbles and thorns.
They are the geniuses.
Thank you very much! I don’t like to brag but you said it. The idea came to me while I had a nail and pebble. Your welcome!
Imagine buying an old home then late into the night you hear such a beautiful melody in the hallway💀
WHAT IS THAT MELODY??!?!
@~Kkianic Maple~ That's a better option than wheeeeeeing in the hall.
It is a known fact that peeing in a ghosts mouth is an effective way to ward them off
@Bozz Skaggs absolutely 1 step. Done . Fall back in bed. Grass doesn’t grow there anymore but it’s worth it
@Bozz Skaggsthe fuck-
I used to have this Fisher-Price push/pull toy that sounded similar to this
We made a thing like thisin class when i was 8yr old.. Not really takes a genius to build a thing like this mate.. (this was in 1997)
This was thought of long long long ago someone actually made it into a children's toy the caveman made this one
It has connection to quantum gravity, and the noise of the gravel can be descripted as a fourier wavefunction, but it ain’t genious, tho.
At some aviation museums there are old jet turbine engines mounted vertically and they let people drop BBs down through the compressor blades. It sounds pretty much just like that. I'll bet that's where the idea came from.
@daemn42 Thanks!
They must be a genius.
@daemn42 ever been to Wright Patterson?
Wool carders make a similar noise too.
literally just commented the same thing lol, I agree for surer
When you work on Turbine Engines this is the last thing you wanna hear O.o
Shows you how smart the people who post these videos are if they think this is made by a genius.
I was waiting for the musical sound to open some magical door that opens up leading to a secret passage.
This reminds me of what it sounds like when dropping a bolt into a plane's turbine engne!
In movies, that sound effect is an indicator that a character is completely insane, and likely to kill someone.
or all the buttplugs being pulled out of me 😅
LMAO. AND THEN ABRUPTLY STOPS WHEN HE GET SLAIN FROM BEHIND MID CRAZY MODE AND GOES : UUGGHH...HOW...IS THIS POSSIBLE...YOU...THUD ON GROUND**
and the hero just says : okay guys let's get a move on.
like it was a casual Thursday evening.
I’m so damn high and this absolutely tickled my brain. I will be watching this several times.
🎼If he was a musical genius he would’ve 🎶added a couple larger pipes for a bass tone !🎶
Imagine hearing this in a love movie… it wouldn‘t fit
Sure it does! The tingle you feel when you're intimately touched for the first time!!
Interactive public decorations are brilliant. Our favourite nearby is musical stepping stones.
When a guardian sees me in Breath of the Wild
For real 🤣
Lmao
I just hope nobody takes bigger objects and gets them stuck in there. I think the thing is pretty cool
Hear that sound in the middle of the night while u walk alone in that park and then say that again.
I haven't heard something more horror inducing than that sound.
Not a genius… an artist! (Wait, I suppose they could be both 😅)
The steel replica is quite nice! Well presented
The back-up demon orchestra in my dream be like:
