Wouldn't be much watching lmao
Actually I listen to the Fallout Lore Videos at work. makes me want to play Fallout and I can usually get a good grasp on where what is while not actively watching the Vid. Pretty good stuff tbh.

Not sure if it's his intent, but perhapse he's so descriptive for those who cant see well enough to play but still want to experience it. Or maybe it's so you can listen while doing other stuff.
Either way, my blind friend is grateful.

Vault Tec: Hold my assorted, frozen, disease contaminated, drugged child organs which were cramped in one place for years

I think the experiment went something like, making the perfect soldiers, those with high iq would join the scientists, so that they could continue this over multiple generations, and those with high physical prowess would, when they turn 18, be promised to head up top and try to save the locals or something, but instead they would be “vaccinated” because of the diseases in the wasteland, pretty normal right? No, it’s just an extremely sugarcoated lethal injection, then their organs would be harvested and used to breed a genetically better generation, then they would incinerate the body, and those who proved neither high iq or physical prowess would also be incinerated. Oh, the original kids’ parents? Incinerated. It wasn’t until multiple generations later when the surviving kids would rebel against the scientists, and free the kids, then they would return to free the infants and such

_As to Fixer, the reason is that Fixer was temporary while Addictol is permanent. Fixer is treatment, Addictor is a cure._

This America is Morbid Capitalism gone absolutley beserk, where money is god, morals are gone and capitalism views people as disposable. Potential consumers. there is always more. Unions are a commie idea. All socialism and liberalism is toxic. Freedom is an illusion for profit. In a sense, the USA Was the Bad Guys, and treated everyone like shit. Even thier own people, who were revolting and being killed and policed with tanks and powered armor. Funny thing. Feels like we will see that irl. This Human Experimentation, circular addiction schemes, corruption, and more, are real business strategies employed by real businesses. Companies can and will kill people to get ahead if they feel they can get away with it.
Ok, you have a rant. Would you like to explain your rant with in-game examples? I don't recall seeing anything where "money is god" or "capitalism views people as disposable" in any of the fallout games that I have played. There are unions in the old world of fallout. In fact Nate (male sole survivor) was going to give a speech at a veterans hall and one of the local unions had a terminal entry where the writer wondered if they could get him to do a speech there.
"the USA... treated everyone like shit..." Yes, that would have been a by-product of fighting the most populated nation on earth. In 2066 the Chinese invaded and took over Anchorage, Alaska. It wasn't until 2077 that the US managed to take it back and invade the Chinese mainland. You can imagine what the casualties were like in the intervening ten years. Desperate times call for desperate measures to survive.
For a real-world example look at US domestic policy in world wars one and two. Very repressive and I am sure those real-world examples are what the developers used to imagine what the US government would have turned into if there really was a war with China.
Addictol: Name brand
Fixer: Generic brand
Mystery solved.
People in the Mojave and capital wastlans were lazy.
Is it just my view, or is it that evry single company in Fallout world used to run sadistic experiments? If that vas the kind of world that existed before the War... maybe the nuclear armagedon actualy improved things.
I mean the sort of atrocities they commit aren't too unbelievable, we uncover more terrible experiments and scandals from our own governments and corporations irl as time goes on. Perhaps it'll get to a point where pre-war Fallout governments and corporations have less blood on their hands than our own...
No... Scandals yes, but nothing on the level of vhat these guys or vault-tec is doing. Ofc, vhere wil it get in the future is open to diskusion. Ppl get more numb to atrocitys as time gos on. It IS only 2018... by the time we get to 2070-s, it culd hapen. The world is alredy going to shit. But I dont think so. For all the crap hapening in our world, I think it has more comon sense in it then Fallout world did.
Sounds about right if you consider how the companies at the start of the divergence acted
I think that many gruesome secrets are well kept from the public still today. As per horrible experiment in full Fallout style that happened in our history, take a look at what was the Unit 731 and what the japanese did in there...inhuman just doesn't seem enough to describe it. Crazed psychopats the lot of them.
In America people with syphilis were experimented on and essentially were left to die just to see what happens which took place back in the 50's or something.

Wow, I can't believe how blind I was being when I play these games. I just treated one place and another as just meaningless "dungeons" for players to go through and take the loot. I never considered what actually happened in the more special places where there was an actual story. I feel like playing fallout 4 again, but this time with a fresh perspective.
Leo Oh I did the same thing after watching a few of oxhorn's videos
Same
That's always been a huge strength of the Fallout games, that a seemingly generic dungeon can hide some really interesting and often dark stories if you take the time to find out about them. Nearly every building tells its own story
This is why I’m subscribed lol. I can clear the location (dungeon) in game while oxhorn Narrates the story of the location!!
Yeah I just liked making guns and shooting things, now I'm binging these videos learning about the places I enjoyed shooting to shit and didnt read any notes in whatsoever

I believe that Bethesda purposely made the replies of the companions stupid. It gives the players something to shake their heads at and laugh. I want to know why the companions feel the need to trap me while I'm trying to retreat, and every other time? Dogmeat and Ada make sure that noses are firmly placed in my bum. Especially when I'm getting ripped apart, and I need to retreat and heal up. Major LOL!
You know I vividly recall seeing those handcuffs in the medtek building when I was doing Macready's Quest. It didn't occur to me at the time that there was something wrong with those being present. When i'm scavenging the wasteland, my brain usually only works out "is this useful or not."
Boy am I glad you're doing these vids. :3
I remember searching this building for an hour looking for the terminal password.. and I even had MacCready with me. Hadn't started the quest though, and didn't even know the password was part of it. Later, when I got the quest, and went to the Med-Tek building, I realized that MacCready had the password all along.. he couldn't have told me while I was frenetically searching the building from top to bottom? lol

For the Fixer/addictol thing, perhaps it's a variant of "slightly rework the drug to get around expiring patents". Fixer is the Med-Tek brand name, and Addictol is the generic name (IRL example: Tylenol vs Acetaminophen). Perhaps Fixer had just gone off patent, so it was still dominant in the market, and most Post-War people know it by that name, but your character, as an educated, well-to-do Pre-War Citizen, understands the distinction; the army likely used the technical name, and a lawyer would know the distinction between generic and brand name.
This is supported by the fact that Prevent was just hitting the market; if you're going to release a drug that will completely obviate the market for another of your drugs, you wait until your older drug is about to go off patent. Your competitors will spend a bunch of money setting up production lines for their own Addictol, and then BAM, you release a drug that PREVENTS addiction.
Addictol is permanent, fixer is temporary
If that comment was a video, it would take all night to watch, good points though!
I enjoyed your essay
@@zombiefanatic4833 agreed
Prevent also most likely came in two forms the civilian version that basically acted like a system flush and kept you from getting addicted for that high. ( Prevent take before you party so you don't have to worry about the consequences.) You know it's works condoms.
And of course military version. That you can actually mix into your combat chem loads at ten times the cost
Oxhorn: listing how the man in the bathroom died violently
Me: "maybe he was drowned by a swirly"
Or was drunk at work and slipped on his own urine lol that was my first thought
Erection lasting 4+ hours is not just uncomfortable/embarrassing, it can indicate severe circulatory distress. Watch an ED drug commercial 'Seek immediate medical attention for an erection lasting over 4 hours.' That legal disclaimer is in every ad.
Geoffrey Ganoe Do longer erections cause pain? If it does, why? There's been many people saying it's uncomfortable, but then there are people who want it. Then again, everyone is different. Again, I'm just CURIOUS.
Yadira Guevara dude what kind of fantasies do you have
I have a small dick but ...Dude... I'm just curious...
@@iramorsnox6583 It can cause blood clots, which ARE painful. It can cause scarring and permanent damage to the penis that may prevent it from getting erect again. In a worst-case scenario, your penis may need to be amputated because blood flow got blocked off and the cells there died, meaning you risk infection and gangrene.
Erections work by pumping in blood and then cutting off the blood flow to that area to keep it inflated. So if that blood doesn't get released, the red cells can't replenish oxygen and the cells in that area die. Most other animals actually have a special bone called a "baculum" that slides forward to keep the penis erect.
@@roetheboat1 literal boner.
I think I've figured out the meaning of those pool balls in the toilet. If we take the ladle as the "/" symbol then they may be referencing the trailer Bethesda released for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim which was released on 11/9 of 2011. Which taken with the other easter egg on the Prydwen, where the "Mysterious Plants" look a hell of a lot like Nirnroot in Skyrim, leads me to believe Bethesda was just giving a much harder to spot nod to their hardcore fans.
Nice thinking!!
Way to keep your mind put of the gutter man, good job :)

Childish, I know, but IDC.
Also, the attention to detail in this game is outstanding. And yet people still shun it for its "story". I, for one, loved the story, the settings, the game, the places, everything
Hawyer Cruz Its easy when they dont like parts of the story or main story to simply call it half assed or terrible. Anyone who watches these videos who felr that way will have their minds changed
It didn't have as good stories as new Vegas, but I liked fallout 4 more because I was the first fallout game I ever played. But I played a little bit of the beginning of new Vegas but new Vegas plays like ass
I do feel the main storyline wasnt as deep as it shoulda been, and I wish that there were more diplomatic endings, but compared to alot of FPS RPG's the storyline was still Mr Fantastic
HeadWrinkle I think the main issue is they pretty much took most of the RPG elements out making it a sandbox shooter more than an RPG
My only problem is the brotherhood ending. (((SPOILERS))) Why blow up the Institute when you could just use the technology for yourself?
Prevent would actually be a bad product to manufacture because they wouldn’t have people continuously buying their products. With fixer people would be more willing to get addicted to chems because they know they can use fixer time and time again.
But if prevent is only a temporary fix for addiction, it could increase sales, as paranoid people (especially parents) would buy prevent and use it on themselves and others around them just in case they are exposed to drugs. This wouldn’t eat into their current drugs-fixer racket, as long as prevent always costs substantially more than fixer, their more prolific customers will keep getting addicted and using fixer as before.
Prevent is being marketed to paranoid parents or caregivers to make sure their kids stay clean. Once that kid grows up they wanna know what the big deal was...boom, you just increased the age range for each consumer
Maybe it prevents the addiction but you still get high from it. Drug sales would skyrocket.
9:34 i just love that way how Ox said that.😂😂
Degenerates like you belong on a cross- Vulpes Inculta @ Nipton
Something I've noticed makes me think that the imprisoned test subjects are random people. When Oxhorn finds the skeleton on the examination table, in terms of clothing, he finds a greaser outfit and farmhand clothes. In large prisons, inmates wear jumpsuits. Mental hospitals also usually provide special clothing for those in the facility. That means that these people must've been taken from many unique places, such as a farm or city streets. This may mean that random people were abducted to be used as test subjects in these experiments.
Well said
Or perhaps they started as volunteers, but were lied to about what they would be doing, and the security was needed to stop them from escaping.
The prison uniform has come and gone a few times though, and it's possible the fallout world doesnt require a uniform at every prison. That being said, yes, it does read and likely they are random people.... Or at least, Chinese Americans who were sent here before they had a chance to get sent to the camps. :x
You've probably got a at least 500 comments telling you what the ladle and balls are, but here's another; it's supposed to be representative of a phallus and testicles.

A strait jacket? Sure, if their room were a white padded one. In a medical facility, you strap them to the bed inorder to keep them from flailing
It's fallout 4, anything is possible. If they were insane asylum patients (which I kind of doubt since the Cabot's asylum doesn't mention it to my knowledge) I'm sure someone of them will have arrived in the jackets. I'm just assuming. maybe fixer is pre-war and addictol was made some time after the war?
nick brotherhood fixer is most likely post-war as it has side effects
Master Case No, fixer is also scavengeable from various locations; addictol is probably just a premium version of fixer.
yeah, fixer even has its own box or case it's in. I don't think post war people would make their own cases for it
It is worth noting that Fixer only provides temporary relief from withdrawal effects while addictol cures addictions outright. It is very possible that both are pre-war drugs, although addictol probably would have been a lot rarer or have it's own nasty longterm side effects. It is more proftable to treat rather than to cure after all.
this is why ox's lore serious makes him the best fallout CZcamsr. he makes the game more immersive as well as giving you locations to explore yourself or simply watch it for the story/lore. Fixer and Addictol, more than likely, were drugs sold by two subsidiaries of MedTek. This is not entirely uncommon for large companies, though their reasons may vary. MedTek may have had greater difficulty selling its wares in the West Coast, and used a subsidiary, under a different brand, to maneuver through any trade barriers that may have existed at the time. They may have also simply had the two brands competing with each other, to encourage better sales.
I love how Oxhorn casually makes a sales pitch for prevent

Hey Oxhorn! You should do a video on whether cogsworth is a 'person' or not. Do you think he has feelings, or is just programmed to say stuff. As well as other intelligent robots. Personally I think he does, but what's your opinion
The reason I say person, is because you did a video called are synths people.
My take on it is that all Companions, except Dogmeat, will refuse to travel with you if you take too many actions of which they don't approve. I'll grant that it's possible that Codsworth's 'moral code' could indeed be just that, code, programmed into him by the manufacturers to stop Mr. Handy robots becoming the criminals tool of choice. So he, reasonably, doesn't approve of theft and he doesn't approve of murder. However, he also doesn't approve of cannibalism. I really can't see a pre-war maker of household robots thinking that to be a sufficiently common problem to need morality code for. Which suggests that Codsworth has added that himself, by his own choice. People choose, even if they're made of metal or so-called synthetic flesh.
Savage Cabage i like to think of it like the droids in star wars where as the longer the droid exists without a mem wipe it starts to develop personalities R2-D2 is a great example. I think the same thing is true in Fallout with the longer a robot functions without a mem wipe it can develop personalities. Now a problem with this are the mister handys in general atomics galleria however i believe that robots like that had a set inbuilt mem wipe system but household robots such as codsworth don't.
Savage Cabage Cogsworth is programmed to simulate feeling so the person he served doesn't get too boring. just like ada. Do u think Siri have feeling?
Summer, Codsworth himself mentions that some Mr. Handy robots are so rigidly programmed they can't escape it, like Deezer in Covenant. I'll also mention Ironsides, whom I'm pretty damm sure no-one programmed to act like an 18th century naval captain.
Every other CZcamsr playing fallout 4:"there is a ghoul here" (Less detail) Oxhorn:"seated zones are up" (More detail)
For anyone who didn’t know, fixer is only temporary, and after a while your addiction comes back
Dude, it's a pair of balls and a stick... think about it.
In a womens barthroom
9/11 NEVER FORGET
@@tris7794
Someone was probably using that set, when something bad happened that someone didn't have time to clean up.
Whoa! What mod is it that puts the Milky Way in the sky like that?
Mate where in the milky Way that's a nebula not a galaxy
Yea there should also be a mod where I can see Earth
@@someguy1865 yes, because Fallout 4 takes place on the moon.
Easily the most calming videos on CZcams despite the horror
Autumn is coming and what comes with autumn is good food, good drinks, creepy and cold weather, and oxhorn fallout 4 videos (if there’s anything else to add just reply with it)
Ok, Oxhorn I have one simple question do you shoot the footage first then talk, or do you talk while shooting the footage
I shoot footage first then talk
Thanks
That way his hands are free to hold a cigar and a bourbon while he narrates and his mouth is free for someone to hold his cigar and bourbon to his mouth while he plays.
John Constantine its obvious he shoots himself then talks, he's FUCKING David Blaine.

The balls and ladle is prob a reference to this. Idk tho.
This actually seems like it might be legit! Nice find!
Bethesda is loving to reference this
God, I love your videos. Voice like melted butter and the detail is astounding.
I am SO glad i didn't see this while bingewatching your lores this morning. I am easily influenced by these things and about an hour ago, i accidentaly walked in to this building. I cleared it and stuff. It was already scary but if i wouldve watched this first, i wouldve been killed by a heart attack
Considering all these atrocious things that happen in Fallout's _America,_ the *_land of the free_* and so on, I can hardly even begin to imagine all the horrible things that must have happened in China...
ericremotesteam Considering their habit for executing their loyal intelligence agents on completion of a successful mission as in Point Lookout I wouldn't want to imagine what they did to ordinary citizens...
The futuristic '50s sure sounds like a lawless land. The nuclear genocide was probably the best thing that could happen to them.
3:37 So what's the big scoop on 9/11 ?
PlayStation Inquisition Osama bin laden
Bush didn’t do it. It was an accident.
Shai Shai yeah aye, the planes were just lost
OOOOOOHHHH!!!! Kitchen ware joke!! Lol
I listen to oxhorn explain lores while I cook and it’s the most relaxing thing
6:39 Easy. You sell the public a drug that undoes addiction with some side effects, and wait until your competition is making the same thing, that’s when you suddenly break out the more efficient version now that everyone else is making Fixer.
I think ceded zones meant Canada. Canada ceded their territory to the US, or they were annexed
Kerbal States, nope, one of the trailers for the game says "U.S to annex Canada" on the newspaper. It's fully established in the lore that the United states annexed Canada to combat China and get forces to anchorage faster.
Also it was spelled differently
Seeded*
I reached the highest level with MacCready, I have his perk and everything. But uta was a very long time ago and I don’t remember doing this mission xD
7:33 Yeah this is the oldest trick in the book, create the problem and sell the solution.
Every time I hear you talk about "more" enemies, I just can't stop hearing you say "even MORE Mirelurks!"
The thing I love most about the lore behind all these pre war companies is that It shows us no matter how bad it is in the wasteland we should be grateful just for our freedom and the gift of seeing another day unlike the unfortunate victims of these corrupt companies. Sometimes the past wasn't as great as some people may think.
I mean Med Teks actions can be excusable to a point. Prisoners who are pedophiles or those who kill children should be subject to this kind of thing, just a fft
Alternatively, the cells with the feral ghouls in them were observation cells where test subjects can be experimented on in a safe, clean and controlled space so as to minimise the risk to the researchers. There's probably a means to knock them out with some kind of anesthetic gas or something in there too.
"Maybe he was vomiting his guts out due to radiation poisoning"
Or...he was drunk as fuck.
MacCready is about as desirable a companion as exploring the wasteland with Gilligan.
nofrackingzone Roaming the wasteland with Gilligan would at least be more entertaining. How funny would it be to watch him running away from a pack of Deathclaws?
