“Killers of the Flower Moon” is an epic western crime saga, where real love crosses paths with unspeakable betrayal. Based on a true story and told through the improbable romance of Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Lily Gladstone), “Killers of the Flower Moon” tracks the suspicious murders of members of the Osage Nation, who became some of the richest people in the world overnight after oil was discovered underneath their land. “Killers of the Flower Moon” also stars Robert De Niro and Jesse Plemons, and is directed by Academy Award winner Martin Scorsese from a screenplay by Eric Roth and Martin Scorsese, based on David Grann’s best-selling book.

There is something extremely comforting about this woman, her voice, her smile, just feels very warm and mother earth-like. What a soul.
Her presence throughout the whole movie was so strong.
It was not a loud performance, more of a subtle one which is way harder to nail. She was the heart of Killers of the Flower moon.
The actress (Lily Gladstone) is from the same exact tribe my mom is a citizen of.... this was awesome. Only a genius like Scorsese could bring this altogether to make such a great film.

I have seen this movie twice and I absolutely love this movie. As I'm not an American I didn't really heard anything about it. But the movie gave me goosebumps. I think that this movie definitely deserves to win prizes, especially Lily Gladstone. What a great actress she is as I never even heard of her.
This movie tests patience , it is a slow burn and you are getting goosebumps, I hope you are not underpaid

I guess I don't watch many DiCaprio interviews...he's more articulate than I imagined, though I don't know why he wouldn't be (silly me). Incredible film, which I saw just last night. Lily Gladstone is spectacular.

I just watched the movie last night, so spoilers..?
I liked how it was obvious who the main antagonist was, but also liked how it was foreshadowed by one of the sisters (I cant remember who said it) when she pointed out Leo's character as a "snake". That came to fruition in my mind when he lied about the insulin shot and you could see it slowly kill her. At the beginning I actually thought that he was poisoning her. Then in the end scene he continued to try to delude her. Powerful stuff.

I just got out of the theater. The storytelling was nuanced and brilliant, capturing the spirit of the white man’s greed under the veil of familial relationships. Lily Gladstone’s dialect in this movie was so authentic, natural, and not labored, you believed who she was in the movie. She embodied the character, both blood and soul.

Leo is indeed one of the best actors alive..and so nice that he took a minor character..and let her give the spotlight..and even denied the FBI role that was actually meant for him
I hardly think Ernest Burkhart is a minor character. He's one of the three main characters if you want to count Ernest, Molly, and Bill Hale. When the credits roll, Leo's name is the first name that pops up. Jesse Plemons really isn't in the movie that much - probably doesn't even show up until 2 hours in. It's a great role, but I'd hardly say he's one of the main characters.
@@kiya12309 When I read about Tim White originally to be played by Leo I wondered how much of the narrative and character focus shifted when he decided to play Ernest.
@Redfoot138 there was a rewrite shifting the focus from the FBI and that's when Leo switched roles
@@kiya12309 so Scorcese wanted to play him a much more minor role at the beginning? How generous of Leo😅
Its not like that. Like Leo said, there were different versions of the script and the screenplay was entirely different during the initial pitching. It was like investigation kind of story were Leo taking the FBI role. But then he suggested to tell the story from the other side and making it a drama. In every version, Leo has the most screentime anyways.
No one is talking about Robert DeNiro and how great of a work he has done
Because the heart of the story lies with Molly and Ernest.
I recommend reading the book by the same name, that the movie is based on.

DeNiro established himself long ago as a master of his craft. He doesn’t need hype. If Scorsese thought DeNiro was just going to phone in his performance, he wouldn’t have offered him the part.

I looked up Uranian miner in the four corners and realized American Indians were the ones did the mining, on their so called land. We had a plan all along. WE never talked about it in school while I was growing up its a taboo subject. I am now 60 and knows why... it's a shameful past. American still has hope because we are talking about it now! 100 yrs later don't forget what we have DONE to other countries (and our own country!) and other people (around the world!!).

I thought actors were not allowed to be in interviews promoting their movies because of the actors strike
I wondered that too. All I can think is that maybe this was filmed well in advance of the strike. I'm sure neither of them would do it if they weren't allowed to. It did premiere at Cannes Film Festival in late May, so it's possible some of this stuff was filmed then and then shelved until shortly before the movie came out.

Lily's was the sort of simple yet effective type of acting that steals the show easily from de niro's usual stuff and de caprio's pathetic bent/curved-jaw overacting, why does Leo struggle so much to perform smoothly
