This man truly has a legacy , he inspired so many people to play chess , he has taught so many people chess and devoted a lot of time for us to laugh and give us a distraction from the horrible stuff that happened this year. I think GothamChess really represents the saying that you should do what you love and i truly respect him for that. So thank you Gotham for making my year a whole lot better for me and other people.

Thanks for everything Levy. I discovered your channel randomly a few months ago on a how to loss at chess video and it was so funny despite not even knowing the rules, it made me try out the game. Ever since then, I've been completely obsessed with chess, it became a passion, a form of escapism, and I spent hundred of hours playing, learning, improving and watching your videos multiple times, seeing you upload makes me so excited. This newfound interest brings me a lot of joy and I can't thank you enough for all your hardworking. My favorite chess moment of 2021 for me was finding your channel. Started at 500, got to 1150 in a year and I credit you largely to that milestone. I didn't know or understand anything about chess, but you brought a light to it and made it something I get an incredible amount of joy (and rage) from. Thanks Levy for all that you do, God bless you

I really liked the IM not a GM tournament. It showcased some really fun and still fantastic players in a fun tournament. The super GMs are great but they're a little stale sometimes it's so precise and stiff until you get one insane game

I started playing chess this year in January as my New Years resolution. My goal was to make it to 1500 by the end of the year I made it from 356 to a peak of 1224. Im still very proud and happy to have seen how exciting this game could be.
A lot if that is thanks in part to you Levy, being a fellow New Yorker your content made this journey so fun and funny. It convinced me to join my local club and I’ve made some real cool friends. Please keep it up in to the new year. You’re awesome!

My personal favorite chess moment of 2021 was seeing Levy do his own tournament recaps. Huge inspiration, led me to enter in tournaments myself. Love you Levy and all you do for the chess world❤️

At the beginning of this year, I was so excited for EVERYTHING that was going to come! As the time passed, It started to get normal or usual. Things started to lose their meaning. I remember back in feb I was so much happy about No Way Home. The entire Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield thing, I can't express it. I just hope that how 2021 went, 2022 should be a lot more different. Happy New Year! Fellow Gothamers.

I love how he puts it.... Almost every chess player hates the game, we're just knda stuck in it! 4 months ago, I lost 23 bullet games in row on tilt. 11 days later, I had my biggest winning streak of 39 bullet games in a row, pushing me past 2050 for a brief time! And honestly this is what drives me. The urge to come back from a loss, or the urge to keep going when I'm winning.
