I just moved from Buffalo to Dallas and I'm no a sabers fan I got to meet Jamie benn tonight and he signed my jersey and gave me a puck my wife and I thought it was awesome

If sabres made the playoffs this year they would have dropped in the first round, but on the other hand, i would have loved to see that rather than them being out of the playoffs again.
From the Stars perspective that was an ugly win but a wins a win.

13 years have passed since the Buffalo Sabres' last playoff qualification.
Will this franchise see the light at the end of their tunnel in the next few years? They're definitely NOT going the entire 2020s decade with zero playoff appearances.

I write this after another inevitable conclusion to the Buffalo Sabres season; since Terry Pegula bought the team, it has now been thirteen years that the Sabres fail to make the playoffs.
Full disclosure: I was a fan for some 25 years, and then this team failed in the 2007 playoffs, compounded that by letting Chris Drury and Danny Briere go, and lastly failed to even try in that summer's Free Agency. At that point, I bailed out, and eventually followed Chicago when Patrick Kane was drafted. The Black Hawks might be undergoing a rebuild now, but I'm okay; with three Stanley Cups (one of them with Kaner being MVP) in tow, that alone says they have achieved a lot.
Coming back to the Sabres, though: Terry Pegula said, "this team exists to win the Stanley Cup." Well, that hasn't happened because he hasn't brought in a coach and General manager who can guide this team towards the Stanley Cup.
Lastly, as for the "real fans" who keep supporting this team, regardless their production: they need to stop being sycophants, stop with the "hosannas" for his buying the team and keeping it in Buffalo, and start demanding results. It's time for Sabres fans to raise their expectation levels, and start demanding that "superfan" Terry Pegula show more of an expectation level for this team; he's no longer just a fan - he's the owner! He needs to act like one!

Dallas Stars improve to 50-20-9 and advanced to the playoffs, while the Buffalo Sabres dropped to 37-37-5
Don't see the sabres changing much for next year. 10 players contracts will be up, except for Oloffson 4.5 mil the other 9 make 2.5 mil and less. Who can they afford to make a step forward ?
They need a solid 2nd goalie, and some old players to spread some playoff grit and experience

God I really hate this sorry excuse of a team sometimes. I just don’t understand this should have been the year they finally ended this playoff drought. But once again they do what they always do let us down again.

@ianzang2178 better defense this year and alot of shooters with 20+ round magazines. Dallas isn't like most teams that rely on a couple shooters with drum mags, drum mags empty quickly with few hits. Texans analysis.
