    Dosa rice (raw rice) - 2 cups
    White lentils - 1/2 cups
    Fenugreek seeds - 1 tbsp
    Rice flakes - 1/2 cup
    Salt - 1 tsp
    Sugar - 1/2 tsp
    Rice powder - 1 tbsp

    Awesome video with most useful tips...thanks a lot...very important - batter should be FLOWING NOT RUNNING IN CONSISTENCY...i always made this mistake because my batter was thick and my dosa would be thick, half cooked and awkward looking....of course i am a doctor and not a cook but when my wife was unwell during covid19 crisis i started making food...and i struggled the most with dosa...now i know what mistake i was making

    You gave the best description tips on dosa now I know about adding puffed rice pls tell me why my dosa sticks in my nonstick pan is it that Iam using wrong pan reply pls love from Karachi

      If its a non stick pan, it shouldn't stick. Thats what i know. I don't use nonstick tawa, so no idea🤔

      The pan should be on high flame...If you try to make on low flame it will stick

    I don't have poha, so can I make batter by skipping it??And also will the batter be in the same consistency as we grind it using the mixer grinder??

      Alternatively you can puffed rice(murmura, bhel) or u can skip. It helps in making soft dosa. Batter consistency you have to adjust with water.

      You can soak maida rice flour and rawa in equal quantity for some time and will make very thin rawa dosas..Add jeera onions coriander leaves in batter.

      There are many reasons:
      Proper fermentation in right temperature is the key to soft dosa.
      The lentils and rice flakes help to get soft dosa
      The batter ground in wet grinder is far better than mixer.

    I'm a single man, and dosa is a breakfast treat for me. How long will that batter last in the fridge? I wouldn't be able to est it all in one meal.

      1:2 is good for idli batter. Since many generations we follow it. For dosa 1:4 works the best.

    From Thailand. Achieved great batter texture but the Centre part turns crisp first and the outer area keeps sticking to the pan. Would appreciate your advice on heat level to use! TVM

      The skillet that you use should be thick and heavy. Initially heat it well, then lower the heat to medium and spread dosa. It should work fine
