Standing Closed Guard Sweep : Waiter Sweep

This is an effective full guard sweep against an opponent who stands up to break your guard. The waiter sweep can be used at any level of BJJ.
As I show in the video. Sometimes the finish is a little tricky so just make sure you're ready to adjust so that you're able to get to a dominant position after the initial sweep.

This is my favorite sweep to setup the triangle. Just hold onto the leg after the sweep and wait for them to post the arm when they try to recover and shoot the triangle. Its there every time.

@brycecolwell4304 lumberjack you open your guard, drop your hips Down to the mat while grabbing both of their ankles.
Waiter you keep guard closed, you under hook only one leg, and you hip Up into them and towards the trapped leg

This is the youngest video ive seen of you chewy. My brown belt instructor taught me this and there was only one other student in class at the time. We were the only two to learn this of all the white belts. Anytime anybody stands in my guard with any grip I immediately fall back on this and throw them off constantly, its so beautiful. Glad to see you implement this

another small detail I would add to insure the sweep, is to slide your right hip over his left knee to aid in breaking his balance.

My sparing partner bigger then me and he always stand up from my guard, I will try it tomorrow.

My coach taught me this thing where the person on top baits this move, and then when the bottom guy starts the sweep he squeezes his legs together which prevents the sweeper from moving to mount and the sweepie triangles both of the legs so they’re stuck and finishes with a heel hook, does grabbing the leg and holding it until you’re on top prevent this from being able to happen? Sorry if my description was unclear.

Nice sweep but the problem is a lot of guys don't give you both arms when they're trapping your arm so you can't grip the other one and then the sweep doesn't work
