Neto is a great player and we definitely need an upgrade on the right wing. I think the first thing we need to consider is a players injury record, which is a concern on him.

Nice one craig. For some reason i didn't get an alert for this vid so i'm a little late. As a type here today anthony gordon has his first full england call up which i think he very much deserves. Though it was made apparent to me after i commented on your last video not everyone feels the same ha haa. I actually think tripps wil be better for having a break & i'm very happy he misses the pointless england friendlies. I just hope he manages a good recovery & comes back refreshed for what will hopefully be a big push for the end of the season. Cheers as always craig.

I always look forward to hearing your views 👍 Regarding AG , so pleased to hear the glowing reports about him, especially from someone like yourself who has had 1 on 1 with him. I spent a night having a few beers with some Evertonians a few months back, and they slated the kid to pieces , and they were proper scouser, it was shocking the way they spoke of him. So pleased he is doing well and in good form.

I'm reasonably sure if you look at England squads from the past several years that the north would have had more representatives than the south...so we can only assume Gordon isn't in the squad because there are better players in his position...which I would have thought was fairly obvious to anyone who watches the Premier League..

Good vid. Gordon would be good to have in the England squad. Slightly different to what they have and can play in a few positions. Provides an outlet with his pace and no one like playing against pace. Defo good for England if under the cosh when playing possession teams
Another great episode Craig. I think that at last we can approach matches like Chelsea with a fair degree of optimism. The squad is stronger - a number of players have come back and fitted back in with relative ease. If Wolves is anything to go by, we look stronger, more competitive and seem to have plugged some of those gaps in transition when defending. I really feel we can get 3 points on Monday . Thanks again Craig....
Gordon is nailed on to be player of the season for us. One can see his brilliant character the moment he stepped through the front door. Maxi not being here is softened by the emergence of Anthony as a brilliant winger.

Pedro Neto is tailor made for Eddie's style of play. Only issue is he's contracted to 2027, and Wolves are as tough as Brighton for negotiating player sales, they're also doing pretty well, and Arsenal are sniffing around him too. I think he'd be well worth £60M but I read he's valued at closer to £80M, so I doubt it'll happen.

Overall I think Gordon has been our player of the season - a place in the England squad is deserved but Southgate has his favourites.
Netto would suit our style but he'd be another injury-prone attacker to add to Wilson & Isak. Probably need to strengthen other positions first anyway.
Hope it works out with Hall though not been impressed on his limited games so far
Not sure about spending half our budget on a player made of glass? Off the back of a season full of injuries. Big risk of playing the majority of next season with Almiron/Murphy on the wing the same as this season if we sign Neto. Class player no doubt but don’t think we’re in the position to take a risk on a player yet.

I’ve listened back and it doesn’t sound poor? Certain moments because of the wind, for sure. But on the whole it seems fine? I’ve had issues previously and have sorted them. What times are poor? Thank you for feedback, I always want to get the audio perfect.

I agree. Sound is distorted at various places when it peaks. Craig: listen back on headphones. Very first 'hello again' is clearly distorted, so are other points. What are you recording sound on?
It’s recorded out on the pavements (that’s sidewalks 😂) with cars and the weather, I think the audio is really good

Gordon is my player of the season so far. 15 goal contributions, runs his legs off, tracks back like mad, isn't made of glass. I have to laugh when I see people still moaning that we sold Maxi. (Don't get me wrong. I love Maxi, but Gordon has contributed so much more.)
Absolutely. I love the way he strives to improve. No silly tackles any more, which have you noticed this change in playing on the edge without being reckless a la Paul Scholes, occurred immediately after his early season suspension. No doubt he asked Howe/coaching staff how to improve here. The only yellow card was just one of those needed to stop a v dangerous break away
Do you think Ashworth will still end up going or might Man Utd go elsewhere having now sabotaged NUFC short term, and could Ashworth be back with his tail between his legs or left to rot?
And with recruitment rather than be linked with £60m injury prone wingers, would we progress better with Graham Carr style talent spotting, likes of Cabaye, Cisse etc al (who weren't necessarily the top identified targets due to the previous owners frugal approach but proved good value) with a view to improving them as individuals, filling out the squad with more quality and selling some at a profit but also actually keeping some of that talent too, rather than selling them to improve our competitors?

I was guilty of thinking of Gordon as a Scouse Scally, well worse actually, and didn't want him at all. Totally wrong, he's been a brilliant signing and deserves to be playing for England, no doubt about that. Neto, in my highly suspect judgment, is one of the most exciting players in the league and I would love us to sign him but what do I know 😂

Totally ignoring and forgetting about the horrendous errors that have led directly to goals that Trippier has made this season is quite ridiculous. In a season where nobody has yet excelled trippier has been at the head of it all imo.
I still think Joe will sign on the dotted line. If it’s a case of wanting bags of cash, there’ll still need to be a transfer fee in the summer and it’ll be substantial. It sort of feels like Saudi or signing and he’s too young/good for Saudi.

Whilst I think the club will be monitoring Neto, I can't see him being our first choice. He's not keen on tracking back & is more than capable of throwing his toys out of the pram during a game. Kubo would be a much better choice. Our main signing for the summer should be a defensive midfielder. This will allow us to be more expansive going forward. I'd like to see Manuel Locatelli from Juventus sign in the summer. Also a right footed central defender. Schar isn't getting any younger & we need to get a replacement embedded in the squad for when he goes. My choice would be Tomori from AC Milan, purely because the wages De Light would ask for would be too high. Also, if we are getting a right winger I'd keep Almiron & sell Murphy, though that's just me.

He's not good enough for England. Jarrod Bowen and Dwight Mcneil are much better players.
I think in the future Gordon is nailed on but at present his finishing needs work and his sharpness- being able to do something with the ball once he has run it down the wing.

Quite disappointed with your reporting on the Hall situation. You say that it's not a mystery why he isn't being used, and that EH has spoken on the record about why he hasn't played much, but then you go on to say that you don't know why he isn't being used, just that it has something to do with our final league position this season, which implies that we are trying not to make the transfer permanent. Obviously EH didn't give a direct answer to this question, and you're unfortunately glossing over this fact. Shame.

It was an absolutely awful game with atrocious goals given away! The real concern is though that we didn’t have a game plan from the off! Anyone else feel that the extension given to Lascelles is a big mistake. If this means we will not be bringing in a right footed centre half with pace I believe will cost us next season. I love Schar but the lack of pace he and Botman have has hindered us at times this season. In fact the lack of pace is clear not only at the back but in the middle of midfield aswell without Joelinton and Tonali
Na not at all, he’s had injuries but he’s also a leader behind the scenes for the players. He does offer things, not been a massive fan but you can’t judge him on his performances this season, as a team we’ve leaked loads of goals. Only 7 clean sheets, and he was in evolved with 5 of those games. Left or right footed is absolutely irrelevant. What if we had two right footed players. Also even though I like him but I believe burn has been our weakness when you talk about pace.
I’m not judging him on his performances this season I’m judging him on his last 5 seasons, he’s not good enough. We need to move forward and evolve and you can’t do that with players like him in your team or squad. As for Dan Burn your right his pace at fullback is not good enough but it is only recent months has he been found out. Hopefully next season we will finally have a top left back to replace him, a position the club has not had a proper player since selling Jose Enrique to Liverpool.

When you say there's a certain perception about Gordon, I'd go along with that.
My perception would be that any player who refuses to train to get a move is not a player we want.
I'd also suggest he's lazy. Yes yes yes, he gets back now and again, but that's just it - now and again. When things are happening elsewhere on the pitch you can see him left midfield , loitering without interest. And what happened to the speed merchant that we signed? The guy who was considered one of the fastest in the league? Not much of that serious sprinting going on these days.
And here's the biggie for me. I just don't like the look of him. I put him in the same category as Joey Barton and Craig Bellamy.
When Leicester won the league we were all stunned. How did it happen? Ranieri's a genius! Then, next season, they were rumbled because clubs figured them out, and Ranieri didn't have another trick to fall back on.
With us, if the opposition play the high press back at us we go into a defensive panic mode - like we did at Wolves. Remember the old 9 at the back, Benitez used to get stick for? As soon as we get out there and see that they are playing high, that's it. We panic and the only way we are going to score is on the break. We 've got nothing else apart from the high energy press.
So when teams like Wolves come at us with our own tactics why don't we just play high back at them?

While Newcastle are obviously holding back until June if they can so those figures will go into the following season for PSR🤷♂️
